  1. Could be an element of that. We’ve still got some odd Directors at the club, like that polo player.
  2. Yes, that was my opinion. Would would have seen the influx of capital into the accounts if it was from 2019? It could be minimal I suppose, therefore insignificant.
  3. A few more documents have hit Companies House. We can’t see what they are for a few days, however they’re “Resolution of allotment of securities” Transferring all shares to Top? Raising funds by generating more shares? Someone new? I’m sure someone who is more finance savvy with these things will have a better answer!
  4. Also on the players going away. They’ve been given a party, this sort of thing goes on all across the world at these events. It’s human nature. I’ve no doubt it was someone like Winks and Vardy and they’ve dropped it in the old WhatsApp grow with Enzo and KDH. If they didn’t want them in a public place, either put on a behind closed doors function, or don’t let it happen.
  5. You might not, however the fans (sorry customers) or the future won’t want to see football in its brutal form. This is why they’re playing hook a duck with the family friendly approach now. You won’t get 32,000 at the Walkers Stadium, sing, chatting, nailing the ref with abuse, applauding as someone is smashed into with a tackle bordering on GBH etc as half of the people are banned, no longer want to go, or are no longer with us. The customer of the future wants to be entertained. Which really baffles with with VAR, as it’s anti goals etc! Let the bloody game flow. We are one step away from shorter games where the clock is stopped for throw ins, fouls etc and rolling subs.
  6. You called this early!
  7. So in summary on this. They hold a gambling license in Curaçao. (For those that don’t know, it’s Dutch off the coast of Venezuela) The Dutch government are unhappy with the state of Curaçaos current licensing operations, or lack of control. They see it as being perceived as tax dodging and money laundering and worry it’ll impact them internationally. The Curaçao licensing authority is trying to clean themselves up, as it’s a big part of the income. BC Game have had a lawsuit filed against them for £2m by players that haven’t been paid out for successful bets. They’ve also been involved in running illegal gambling services throughout Europe. BC Games dispute this. It’s currently under legal investigation. A bankruptcy order was filled on the 12th November. The Curaçao authorities are looking to revoke the license for BC Games. However they have appointed an auditor to review the business to ensure customers are paid out monies which they have won. The Curaçao Shadow Government have accused the Curaçao Licensing Authority of being a bit shady and doing some illegal, corrupt stuff. BC Game are looking to leave Curaçao and obtain a license in Vanuatu. Which is in the South Pacific in the Harris end of nowhere near Australia. Vanuata have seen an influx of online gaming companies join them due to more “relaxed” licensing approaches. ————————— In summary, nothing dodgy going on here at all. Why are we even associated with them and the fake pac man logo.
  8. This has got legs ……
  9. It’s the reality of modern sport, not just football. Why attend in person, when you can watch it in the comfort of your own, warm home. It cost significantly more than it does in the 80s and 90s to even attend. The owners will not care if you’ve been a fan for 70 years, or 2. To us, we’re customers of the King Power brand. The board I think are trying to move away from the fan base as it is now, to try and target younger supporters. They are the “customers” of the future. I think it’s part of the reason the expansion has been delayed. Will they fill it week in, week out? If you ever see how American sports have targeted audiences, even down to things like pre game shows, half time shows etc, people will attend just to watch that. It’s more than the sport now, it’s about entertainment. The game is changing and that will always split opinions on if that’s right or wrong. Not really a discussion for this topic really. To pull it back inline, I’ve watched some of Ruuds tactical analysis from his time in Holland. I just hope he adopts a similar system to Maresca, albeit I don’t know how he does this without Ricardo. I do wonder if we go radical and maybe see a Midfielder like Skipp, Winks or Soumare adopting that position. So we defend as a 4-4-2. Then attack as a 3-6-1 with the box midfield to smoother the opposing team with a gengen press. If he can get Daka scoring, that is going to be a major bonus. Daka did play on the right hand side, with his mate Haaland up top at Salzburg. If he can actually get him into the system and working, maybe he occupy that slot? Allows maybe El Khannouss and Buonanotte freedom to pay as advanced 8s within the same system. Who knows what he’ll do. We will have a better idea after Tuesday. I could see something like this in possession:
  10. We’ll likely bring in a striker on loan, sending Edouard back to Palace I’d imagine.
  11. Oh, we’ve been worse. I don’t think the Holloway team was that bad, it just couldn’t score! Some of the football Levein, Bassett etc played was awful. All about expectations really. Pearson got given the season when we came back up last time, as you could see we were in games. The reality is Coopers teams looked like a punch drunk boxer, on the ropes, hanging by the skin of its teeth for large proportions of games. We’ve had some luck and I’m thankful of that. As it at least gives RVN a points base to try and push on. Fingers crossed; the board have got this one right.
  12. I think it’s a generational thing to be honest. it’s not just a Leicester issue, every club has this challenge. Being stereotypical, younger people maybe aren’t as engaging and don’t have the attention span to watch 90 minutes of what we perceive as typical football. So they try and orientate it toward a “family day” and an experience. The older generation will detest it. The younger generation might connect more. You’ve only got to look at how successful the Kings League is to see that shorter, sharper games draw a younger audience, which is your audience for the future.
  13. I have absolutely no issue with him being Welsh, or ex Forest to be honest. I know some people are against it, however it was and always should be about having the right person for the job. We have a squad of players that are use to playing a particular type of football, that has been developed by various coaches proper to Cooper. Cooper tried to employ tactics that just didn’t suit them, so he was always going to get backlash. If Cooper had continued the style of the previous coaching staff, he’d have been accepted by the fans and players. It’s like the old saying, “if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid”. This is why you often see the “new manager bounce” as new coaches play to strengths of the players to get results. Rightly so, this season, is about maintaining our place in the league. On the where do we rank in terms of expectations piece, it’s always difficult. With what we’ve achieved the bar will always be set higher. I saw it quoted somewhere yesterday that in reality, we are potentially one of the most difficult clubs to manage outside of the top 6. With what we we achieved, staying up whilst its achievement and logically where we should be aiming, the reality is, with our wage bill, turnover, facilities etc, we should be aspiring to be so much more than that. Like any business, once you’ve achieved success, that’s the bench march you strive to keep. If Netflix had stayed as a DVD rentals business, it would have gone the same way as Blockbuster. Expectations change as the image, fan base, wage bill, success etc do. It‘s like asking Primark to get get back in its box, as they’re occupying the floor space of Marks and Spencer’s, Debenhams and Woolworths. We’ve got one of the best training facilities in world football for a reason. Vichai wanted us to be amongst the elite. Maybe controversial but I’ll type it, I think part of that was to promote Thailand and King Power, however as supporters, we have benefited from that. Whether Too aspired to that, who knows! Like other businesses, football clubs come and go. It’s hard to stay at the top of the pile over a consistent period. If you look through history, I think we rank 18th in the all time list now of major honours of English clubs. Look who is above us though and it’s intriguing. West Brom, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland, Blackburn, Wolves etc. Clubs that are no longer in the league we are in.
  14. I think we are lucky to get the points we have to be honest. Without Hermansen, we’d be bottom.
  15. He just looked out of his depth. I personally think he needed other people around him to maybe push him in terms of his team selections and tactics at times. You could argue that in reality, we should be in the bottom three without luck. It’s actually about more than the head coach in reality. RVN needs to get coaches in that the players will respect and engage with. That extra 1% you get from things like that, means they’ll run that bit further, get that bit fitter, play with more confidence etc I actually believe we have some ability within this squad. It’s a massive loss having Fatawu and Ricardo injured, as they’d be my first pairing for the right hand side. It’s going to be scrappy to get points, however I’m hoping we see a more expansive game. The best form of defence is still attack, so keeping the ball is key. Maresca knew that. It’s football 1-0-1 really, if you have the ball, the other team can’t score. If we can just retain out without booting it long to nobody, then it coming straight back, that would be an improvement.
  16. I gave Cooper 3 pre season games before I started the out topic It was clearly not going to work then. We’ll all know fairly quickly if this is going to work or not.
  17. People will get behind him, once we see that we are capable of playing football. Whatever Cooper was trying to do with his anti-football was an immediate cue to be negative. I’d rather get relegated trying to play football and be entertained, than bored to sleep doing literally nothing. It has been about as fun as watching paint dry, watching Coopers football.
  18. I’ve already seen enough of RVN to not start the out thread immediately
  19. Maresca played a major part in this I’d imagine. Clearly enjoyed his time with us but left to pastures new. If Ruud is 80% of what Maresca was, he’ll be great for us.
  20. We’ve built a bit of a reputation for player power reading between the lines. Albeit some of those have moved on. I think he’ll be a 2 years and done type of coach, that will drive us hard then it’ll implode.
  21. Shock as getting a job can sometimes come down to who you know, rather than what you know.
  22. Can we just admit that Forest / Leicester is now the East Midlands rivalry? We don’t like them. They don’t like us. I’ve seen more m trouble in the past 4 or 5 games home and away against them, than any other game. The FA Cup defeat day was horrendous.
  23. Still better than Cooper!
  24. I’m intrigued who he brings with him. It’s as much about the team, as it is about the head coach.
  25. The back room staff will be key here …. At the minute we’ve got Ben Dawson, Andrew Hughes, Matt Reeves and Danny Alcock to run the game this weekend. This has always gone so well for us in the past
