Cooper doesn’t have the credit in the bank Rodgers had. Whilst I don’t agree with the time they gave Rodgers, he’s leagues above Cooper. Cooper is every bit as bad as Levein, Bassett and Holloway.

I really like Winks and think he’s a great player. A lot of the work he does will go under appreciated but he’s the sort of player you love to play with. He’s like a metronome and every club needs them as he’s so consistent. In my opinion, he needs other players around him him that can support. If anything I’d rather keep Winks and ship out Ndidi and Skipp.

Whilst we do knock our board of owners for what is largely perceived to be an ongoing failure of a project, it’s a highly competitive world. I personally would have given Rodgers the boot earlier, however I would have done the same for Pearson when it started to go wrong leading up to Deeney day. Faes has similar traits to Soyuncu in terms of consistency and having that error in his locker. Soyuncu was rapid though, so if he was out of place, he could correct that. Neither could lead a defence. Soyuncu obviously lost form and played at a similar level (in my opinion) to what we now see week in, week out from Faes. Average at best. I still think our best four central defenders in the modern era would be Morgan, Huth, Fofana and Evans. Faes doesn’t get into 75% of the current Premier League teams.
