Ruud awakening for the Premier League!
Sly replied to DJ Barry Hammond's topic in Leicester City Forum
… you might be right. -
When you look at him as a player, he actually did okay under Rodgers in 20/21 and 21/22. He wasn’t at Chilwells level, however he was part of the team that won us the FA Cup. You’ve only got to review some of the player ratings threads though to see he’s put out some of the worst performances since we started match day ratings though, so he’s had some right howlers

I’m not so sure. I think time will remember him more fondly, given the first 2.5 seasons. Everyone will have a different take on this though. My rank is: 1. Ranieri 2. Pearson 3. Rodgers 4. Maresca 5. Puel 6. Shakespeare 7. Eriksson 8. Smith 9. Souza 10. Cooper They’re all relative for the time. If you were to rank them by actually season in charge and what they achieved, you’d look at it so much differently. 1. Ranieri 15/16 2. Rodgers 20/21 3. Rodgers 19/20 4. Pearson 13/14 5. Maresca 23/24 6. Pearson 14/15 7. Rodgers 18/19 8. Puel 17/18 9. Pearson 11/12 10. Shakespeare 16/17 11. Puel 18/19 12. Smith 22/23 13. Eriksson 10/11 14. Eriksson 11/12 15. Shakespeare 17/18 16. Rodgers 21/22 17. Cooper 24/25 18. Ranieri 16/17 19. Rodgers 22/23 20. Sousa 10/10 Everyone would alter this rank, however it does give an insight on just how someone like Rodgers is so diverse. If he’d gone in 21/22 like he should have, he’d be remembered far more fondly. Eriksson, Puel and Shakespeare didn’t do a great deal but kept the club ticking over and put in foundations. Sousa was horrendous and arguably set us back by allowing Pearson to walk away to Hull. Ranieri gave us our greatest ever season in my opinion, then the following season was an utter train smash. I’d say even worse than the dross we’ve seen from Cooper given the squad he had. Albeit not as bad as the Rodgers melt down.

I believe it’s from TransferMarket, so the values are somewhat suspect anyway. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leicester-city/startseite/verein/1003
-
Looking at a squad value on transfer market is pointless. For example: Hermansen is £9m Faes is £20m Fatawu is £13m Edouard is £18m Ayew is £4m Vardy is £1m Reality is value on paper, has no direct reflection to actual ability or form. Look at some of the worlds most expensive transfers and you’ll see that whilst book value is astronomical, you don’t always get a return on investment. Dembele, Hazard, Courinho, Pogba, Lukaku, Neymar, Felix, Pepe, Greizmann, Kepa etc have all gone for massive money and it hasn’t worked. We were relegated with the most expensive squad ever assembled. We won the league with a bunch of cast offs, freebies and cheap players.

Lampard had success at Chelsea and Derby. Gerrard had success at Rangers. It is always a gamble really.
-
I have them on alert, so I get emails when changes are made
-
I thought that ….. selling up? Severing ties with King Power?
-
Not sure of anyone has noticed. The persons with significant control has changed on Companies House. It’s no longer King Power International (As of 2019 apparently), it’s Top. https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/04593477/filing-history

Listening now.

Edin Terzic If you know, you know.

Esteban has no coaching qualifications, so can’t.
-
This is my take on Potter as well.
-
Community Shield is massive these days

Finally……. We’ve seen sense.

Yes, I’d agree with this. Prime Vardy made things happens himself. He’s obviously an elite forward and we’ll be incredibly lucky is we get a replacement either way anything near his ability level during the next 5 - 10 years, maybe ever. However, it’s like playing with 10 men at times. 8 if you consider we’re carrying Faes and Justin as well. -
If we are talking about players in their prime, I personally feel that Rooney or Owen had a higher ceiling than Vardy. What Vardy has and Kane might also actually, is longevity. Vardy doesn’t become the player he is without Pearson though. He nearly quit the game after a year with us. So it’s hard to say if he’d been as prolific at a younger age. Similar with Kane. He didn’t look special when he was with us. Vardy will be remembered for the streak and being the spearhead of the Premier League title win. Vardy is a Premier League Legend. Similar to Shearer with Blackburn really? Career wise it isn’t even close in reality. Kane has the best goals per game ratio, however that’ll drop as he gets older. His lack of trophies and individual honours is terrible though! Rooney A goal every 0.41 games. 5 x Premier League 1 x FA Cup 3 x League Cup 4 x Community Shield 1 x Champions League 1 x Europa League 1 x Club World Cup 3 x PFA team of the year 1 x Premier League Player of the Season 1 x FIFA World XI Vardy A goal every 0.47 games. 1 x Premier League 1 x FA Cup 2 x Championships 1 x Community Shield 1 x Premier League Player of the Season 2 x PFA team of the year Shearer A goal every 0.47 games. 1 x Premier League 3rd Place in Ballon Dor 4 x PFA team of the year 1 x Premier League Player of the Season Kane A goal every 0.66 games. 6 x PFA team of the year Owen A goal every 0.45 games. 1 x Premier League 1 x FA Cup 3 x League Cup 2 x Community Shield 1 x UEFA Cup 1 x UEFA Super Cup 1 x Ballon Dor 1 x World Player of the Year 1 x Premier League Player of the Season 1 x Premier League Team of the Season

The expected points have us 19th currently. More performances like yesterday and that’s where we’ll be before long.
-
I think I just typed what a few others were thinking if I’m honest. I was just brave, or stupid enough to call it early!

This might be controversial, but I’ll say it anyway. Southampton played better when we beat them 9-0.
-
The stats alone tell you how bad we’ve been in this game.
-
It would appear that they’re all devoid of ideas at this point.
-
They need to grow a pair and pull the trigger. Cooper will ve more hated than Taylor if we get relegated, as he’ll be the catalyst for us being the next Portsmouth.
