  1. If Top had done what he should have, he wouldn’t have been here long enough after the Forest FA Cup defeat, to do the damage that followed. I personally still blame the players for that, as much as Rodgers.
  2. I can only really remember our Managers / Coaches from Brian Little onwards. The title for me, will always go to Peter Taylor. I really, really wanted him and us to succeed after we were brilliant to a degree for half a season. He destroyed us though in reality by trying to change that O’Neill team. I think time will look back on Rodgers more fondly than maybe he is viewed on Foxestalk now. Holloway wasn’t really with us long enough for anyone to care. We just had a terrible squad under Bassett. Sousa if he’d been left, could have got really toxic. It just wasn’t working. Levein bored us to sleep. The rest are largely forgotten in the doldrums of time.
  3. I had a look at the weekend, and we’re near the top for clearances, saves, blocks etc. basically our defence is under pressure!
  4. Every club has them. I think we’ve done okay. Not every player is going to hit the very top level in football. When you bear in mind that your average League 2 player is closer to Messi in terms of ability, than most will be to that League 2 player. Football at the top level just isn’t about technique. It requires commitment off the field, diet, mental strength, physical growth etc, plus injuries play a part. You then also need a little bit of luck. if you think the Premier League is potentially the best league in the world (debatable), however it’ll have maybe 480 players registered across all team. Even if you push that out across the top 4 leagues, you’re still only looking at 2,000 people. To then claim we should be producing home grown talent, which is captured within a given window of miles from the football club and expect them to be within the top 2,000 players in the world is maybe a tough ask. People develop differently. When you think we’ve had Nelson, KDH, Barnes, Nyoni, Chillwell, Knight, Bassey, Choudhury, Porter, Gradel, Stearman, Mcateer, Mattock, Schluup, Kipre, Thomas, Elliott Moore, Liam Moore, Pascanu, Elder, Iversen, Marcal, Norburn, Cluscus, King, Tomlin, Stolarczyk, O’Grady, Heskey, Joachim, Hoult, Piper, Stewart, Oakes, Heath, Ashton, Petrescu, Weselowski etc etc I’ll reserve judgement on Braybooke, Alves and Popov until they’ve played more. You would build a steady team from the ones still playing. Basic 4-4-2 of Stolarczyk Chilwell Bassey Nelson Knight KDH Choudhury McAteer Barnes Gradel Schlupp - Best I could think of as a 9! Bench of Iversen, Kipre, Pascanu, Moore, Thomas, Elder, Marcal, Alves, Braybooke, Popov Outside of the big clubs, I don’t think that’s bad.
  5. It was also predicting we’d stay up as well! It’s about as Super as someone down at BetFred placing bets then losing all of their money.
  6. And by the way, if you haven’t seen the Kings League, go out of your way to watch it. It’s modern, skilful football, but “more fun”. A bit like Mario Kart to Formula One.
  7. As a fan base, we’ve had a Rollercoaster of a ride and it’s now levelled back out to what it once was. Outside of a European Competition, we’ve completed football. Once you hit the top of the mountain, what do you do next? Like addicts going cold turkey, we want more of what we had and it’s upsetting when we don’t get it. Is football over saturated - yes Is football more commercial - yes Do some fans like this version of football - yes Do some fans dislike this version of football - yes It is evolving, just go on the ride. We can’t change it. I’m not in love with the game like I was 10 years ago. I care, however I no longer go out of my way to attend, watch or hold the same emotional attachment, win, lose or draw. This isn’t unique to Leicester by the way. Go onto any fan forum, they’re all going through the same. I’m actually surprised something like 6 a side football hasn’t gained more traction with shorter games etc, with the younger demographic having shorter attention spans. Maybe not one For the die hard fans on here, however you only need to look at the growing numbers that the Kings League posts to know it’s a growth market.
  8. He did a great for MOTD in picking it up after Des. I’ll miss the International Tournament coverage more though. However in the modern age, I’m not really sure MOTD itself has a place anymore. It was once the go to place to see highlights, however I don’t need to wait until the evening now. With social media and even Sky, the highlights are available much sooner. I’ve not watched the program itself for years. He’s always been massive advocate for Leicester. I don’t understand how people don’t get that. Some of his political opinions don’t align with mine, but then again 50% of the country don’t. I don’t dislike them or wish them ill. Such is life.
  9. Brilliant again @StriderHiryu!! I’ll try and catch toy full analysis tomorrow.
  10. Ultimately, people will have been sounded out potentially replacements. Hence why articles are popping up in the media.
  11. The talks are clearly starting to happen behind the scenes, as “no smoke without fire”. You don’t splurge a small fortune to solve our PSR challenge, then sleepwalk into a relegation fight. I was frustrated when I started this topic, as I couldn’t see a clear playing identity and any sense of in game management. I’m even less convinced now having watched 10+ games under his regime. You need an element of luck in football and sometimes it goes for you, sometimes against you. We’ve been quite lucky in games and we can’t shy away from that. These things tend to even out across the course of a season and with our defensive frailties, and the ineffectiveness of our attack, we will struggle to to pick up enough points to survive in my opinion. The standard between the bottom of the Premier League and the top half of the Championship isn’t massively different. in reality, last season our record against the sides toward the top half was iffy. Leeds, Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Hull etc all went toe to toe with us. Our consistency in the first half of the season saw us get over the line. Fast forward to us starting in this league and we’ve in reality added a bit more technical quality with some of the signings we’ve made. Tactically our approach has declined and the in game management is shocking. I’m not quite sure why we’ve signed Reid, Skipp or Eduoard. Ayew I questioned, but he has however proved to be useful. Kristiensen and Soumare were additions to this squad over and above what we had last season. What is he even trying to do with Victor, as he’s not suited to this fullback role style he’s currently being deployed in. I suppose the point I’m trying to make is, that clearly has some ability within it. I just think that they need a bit of direction and maybe some fine tuning, man management and confidence reinstating, we might just be able to get enough points to get us over the line. Sometimes it’s just a new voice that’s needed. I personally don’t think that’s Potter by the way.
  12. 2 games more of this dross then.
  13. Eduardo is worse than Tete
  14. Is in game management is as bad as Peter Taylor.
  15. I was about to write the same thing! I’m intrigued.
  16. The xG table highlights our level of luck in fairness. https://understat.com/league/epl We are 19th based on it. This tends to give you a feel for how it’s going. Just to put this into perspective, over the duration of a season and how many were relegated. 23/24 - 3 clubs. 22/23 - 0 clubs. 21/22 - 3 clubs. 20/21 - 2 clubs. 19/20 - 1 club. 18/19 - 2 clubs. 17/18 - 2 clubs. 16/17 - 2 clubs. 15/16 - 2 clubs. 14/15 - 2 clubs. The season we went down was an outlier yes, however 19 out of 30 in the last 10 years have gone. It also had us finishing 4th and not 1st in 15/16
  17. Just watching the countdown for Tyson / Paul. I’d really, really, reeeeeeeeeeeeally like Tyson to knock him out early.
  18. I’m the same. I’ve no issue with Manchester City. I know about 2 people who support them and they actually live in Manchester. It’s the 10,000s of others that support Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool …. Great to see them triggered.
  19. Great suggestion about running in the dark. This is how I started!
  20. Cheers @Daggers
  21. I echo this @Scotch I’m in my 40s and when I started running during Covid I was 18 stone. A decent pair of shoes, some good headphones and Spotify were the only three things I needed. That and a will to get out of the door. As that’s the hardest part. I managed to drop to 14 stone from just doing couch to 5k. I’m not quick, more so due to the fact everything I’ve broken playing sport hurts when I run. I found myself doing what I perceived to be major milestones when I restarted. First 5 minute run, 10 minutes, 20 minutes etc. the first 5k was brilliant. I then got into chasing the time down once I’d finished. My first 5k was 40 minutes from memory! For me, it was always about getting the steps in, to burn the calories, to drop the weight. …… I also cut out chocolate and a few other things (which helped)
  22. My latest one is that Fireworks are the most over rated thing in the world.
  23. I’m not a fan of the city of three waters in Whitwick. https://maps.app.goo.gl/NSiJiHWYAFWkWbbP9?g_st=ic
  24. I’d be surprised if ANYONE was convinced by him at this point
