  1. It’s going to really sting if we get a breach for 23/24 when Chelsea have sold their hotel and women’s team back to themselves in order to comply and a bunch of clubs have player swapped with each other for over inflated fees. I know we aren’t normally ones to play by the book, but clubs are making a mockery of the rules.
  2. I was thinking this, apart from maybe Wrexham. The references to Cooper and Top were so forced. It nearly ruined a uncharacteristically good piece of content that actually referenced events before King Power.
  3. Potentially £25M and yet we were apparently weighing up whether spending a similar amount on Ioannidis was worth it. I think Skipp will be a decent addition, but he's never worth more than £15M. I fully expected it to be a loan with an option and then for us to spend our budget on more pressing areas of the team.
  4. Skipp to relegation ⏭️
  5. It doesn’t have the desired effect at the end of the game though. If we win, no one will join in or care and if we lose the stadium is half empty before the players have even started shaking hands. The UFS way of doing this is the right way. Short, sharp and concise protest followed up instantly by a song getting behind the players.
  6. A lot of our fans really struggle to separate out the concept of holding the club accountable for their actions and supporting the team on the pitch. Other clubs don’t seem to have this problem.
  7. I have a feeling that Cooper was told by the club during discussions that we want to “play like Man City” and he’s agreed to it to get the job. As you say though, he clearly doesn’t believe in it and I suspect he’ll ditch it after a few defeats.
  8. Third kit is what I'd call pale grey, with navy details and the old Fox and Crop badge repeated as a pattern on the front of the shirt.
  9. I notice that all of the photos so far only seem to be from the KP era...
  10. Seeing that this topic is hot and then finding out it's due to a conversation about tax and due diligence really does sum up our summer so far.
  11. I think nowadays you hear more leaked information about bids and talks, so it feels like a long time.
  12. "Sorry officer, I know I was doing twice the speed limit but it was unforeseen that I would leave the house so late."
  13. I thought there was a no dickheads policy.
  14. Pointless. Anyone can air their opinions to Jim at any point. You would think, after all the recent negativity, it would have been a good bit of PR to send a couple of relevant personnel from within the club.
  15. It’s not up to the PL or FA what deduction we get.
  16. Is there a Championship badge underneath?
  17. I think the takeaway here is to never watch pre season friendlies.
  18. It’s a very good point.
  19. Huge own goal missed to not use a retro badge as the main badge, like Leeds have.
  20. Just order a men’s shirt without a sponsor? Unless you explicitly want King Power on it.
  21. I have a feeling that Bellingham is going to cause some problems over the next few years. Apparently he went crazy at Southgate just before the Kane sub because he was getting frustrated with the lack of movement up front. I'm totally with him on that, but he needs to be careful.
  22. I think whoever it is needs to have a stronger tactical intelligence, which was always Southgate's downfall. Southgate took far too long to highlight problems and then far too long to actually do something about them. A manager with stronger tactical principles wouldn't stand for some of the things we've seen in this tournament such as the piss poor press, long balls from Pickford and total lack of movement from the midfield when trying to play it out from the back. The hardest thing is going to be finding a manager with the man-management skills of Southgate and the bravery to prioritise the system over personnel. If we deem that we want to be a pressing team, Kane can't play. If we deem that Bellingham and Foden are 10's, then only one can play. We have to stop putting so much reliance on having the stars on the pitch, even if they are out of position, injured or knackered (or all three), and then hope they pull out a 'moment'. Imagine how many more moments those players will have if they are playing within a sound, cohesive system that is more similar to their club sides and where everyone knows their roles. I'd love to see Foden/Bellingham and Saka/Palmer sharing a role and rotating as appropriate during a (hopefully) long tournament.
  23. I still can't believe that after equalising we didn't carry on in the same vein as the minutes leading up to the goal. I know Spain pinned us back, but all of the pressing and progressive passing just instantly stopped. Tiredness was a factor, in particular for Bellingham and Rice who were far too deep, but I still think it's born out of Southgate's overall cautiousness. I don't think Southgate is telling the players to drop deep or Pickford to lump it long, but also think he's not not telling them to do it. A more tactically astute manager would be coming down hard on those things and the players would feel less comfortable slipping into it.
  24. It’s all agent talk to get Roma to up their price.
  25. Come on Juve, sell your Soule!
