  1. It’s a horrible lineup, but it’s pretty normal for a caretaker to try something different. The problem is that he has terrible defenders at his disposal.
  2. Forget Cooper or Dawson, this is all on the board. It’s the same defence that got us relegated and we’ve wasted two matches (at least!) by not sacking Cooper before the international break. RVN doesn’t stand a chance trying to organise this mess ahead of Tuesday or even Sunday.
  3. Justin switches off, Faes is too far forward. Rinse and repeat.
  4. Thomas is always terrible at LWB. The amount of times he got subbed at HT under Rodgers.
  5. That article has really rattled me. You can't sack a manager after 12 matches and then blame it on the players. It is your fault for hiring him in the first place and your fault for not sacking him before the international break. You can't sanction a Christmas party for players and then accuse them of it being unsavoury. They didn't really do anything wrong, it was just unfortunate timing. You can't constantly push back against fan groups, treat the average fan with absolute contempt and jump into bed with any old Triad-backed sponsor, but then preach about the "family image" that is apparently so important to you.
  6. Either heads need to roll all across the entire board or King Power need to sell up. The club is not only being run shambolically, it's being run without a care for things that matter.
  7. Let's be honest, if he wasn't Ruud Van Nistelrooy the player no one would be calling for him. He falls into the double whammy of legendary player and recent caretaker manager at a big club. - Scored a lot of goals 20 odd years a go. - "Knows" the league. - Recently dressed and spoke well during a 'can't lose' interim period at United. You just know Top has been drawn in by those things, but they mean very little and so often they are a trap. On the plus side though, he will bring with him some excitement, energy and a bit of a spark. We really need that right now.
  8. I'd like a personal apology for all those that sneered at me for suggesting we don't not have someone lined up. Everything about the timing suggested we did, everything about the level this club operates at suggested we didn't.
  9. Something is definitely afoot. The code is still there on the desktop version when you inspect the page, but the logo is being hidden. I guess they just forgot to do the mobile and app versions, which is very on brand.
  10. This is it for me. It's the caretaker manager paradox. A coach can fall into a high profile job on an interim basis, say and do the opposite things that got the previous manager sacked and therefore lift the mood. Everyone starts thinking that the coach is clearly capable of managing at that level, despite it not being a fair test in any shape of form. It happens time and time again. RVN might be brilliant, but there is just not enough to go off. No one would be even suggesting him if he hadn't had the playing career that he had.
  11. RVN is a risk. I know King Power love a manager that “knows the league”, but a few months as coach, 2 PL matches as caretaker and a playing career from 20 years ago doesn’t mean you know the league. It’s barely worth talking about. If we are going to take a gamble on someone without an extensive experience in this country, we might as well look further afield at the long list of attainable foreign managers.
  12. No chance Rudkin is going anywhere. Reliable journalists have mentioned that it was him that delivered the news to Cooper and Tom Collomosse's article yesterday stated that it's Rudkin that is leading the hunt for the new manager.
  13. I admire your optimism, but I don't share it.
  14. "Club sources maintain they did not have anyone lined up when they decided to sack Steve Cooper, which makes the timing after the first game following an international break unusual." Not unusual when you've been following anything the club has done over the last few years. Absolute shambles.
  15. Maresca was appointed at Chelsea on the 4th June, so that's over 10 weeks before the start of the season. Don't feel sorry for the club.
  16. Who's Max and why is he in Bobby De Cordova-Reid?
  17. I thought that when we sacked Rodgers but it we then proceeded to flirt with Marsch, Benitez and then Smith. This is a reactive football club.
  18. I'd be shocked if it isn't Potter. He was close before, even with a points deduction hanging over us and the possibility that England might come calling. The fact he's been on the media trail recently suggests he's perhaps not flooded with offers.
  19. I don't get the clamour for RVN. A year at PSV and then a handle of matches as caretaker at United is not enough to go off. He couldn't really lose at United, but he wore a turtle-neck well and all of sudden he's being linked with jobs left, right and centre.
  20. It's a relief but I find it hard to be happy about this. A competent club sacks him before the international break. A well run club doesn't hire him at all.
  21. Good on the ball today but we are so much weaker defensively because he's a second behind play all the time. It's too easy for players to peel away from him.
  22. It’s the kind of performance that normally results in a battering. Didn’t even get close to testing them. Just get him gone and give ourselves a fighting chance.
  23. It does feel very similar, but at least Southgate still had a knack of finding a way to get results and he dealt with things like the media very well. Cooper doesn’t feel like he has a lot going for him other than seemingly being a nice guy.
  24. He’s just not up to it I’m afraid, we are being tactically handicapped by him. Ndidi as a 10, Soumare starting, Fatawu on the wrong side…he’s just throwing something together each match and hoping enough sticks. We are in the bottom three in all the key metrics and that’s including the fact that we’ve played a decent chunk of time this season against 10 men and have yet to play any of the top 3. In a couple of matches we’ll be in the actual bottom three and deservedly so. I’ve never felt so disengaged with the club. Even if Cooper gets sacked tomorrow (he won’t) it won’t rekindle much excitement for me. The issues lie far too deep within.
  25. Picking Soumare is such weak management. One good cameo against st 10 men and he’s given in to the clamour. Against United in the cup he was a large part of the reason we struggled so much on the transition.
