  1. I think the takeaway here is to never watch pre season friendlies.
  2. It’s a very good point.
  3. Huge own goal missed to not use a retro badge as the main badge, like Leeds have.
  4. Just order a men’s shirt without a sponsor? Unless you explicitly want King Power on it.
  5. I have a feeling that Bellingham is going to cause some problems over the next few years. Apparently he went crazy at Southgate just before the Kane sub because he was getting frustrated with the lack of movement up front. I'm totally with him on that, but he needs to be careful.
  6. I think whoever it is needs to have a stronger tactical intelligence, which was always Southgate's downfall. Southgate took far too long to highlight problems and then far too long to actually do something about them. A manager with stronger tactical principles wouldn't stand for some of the things we've seen in this tournament such as the piss poor press, long balls from Pickford and total lack of movement from the midfield when trying to play it out from the back. The hardest thing is going to be finding a manager with the man-management skills of Southgate and the bravery to prioritise the system over personnel. If we deem that we want to be a pressing team, Kane can't play. If we deem that Bellingham and Foden are 10's, then only one can play. We have to stop putting so much reliance on having the stars on the pitch, even if they are out of position, injured or knackered (or all three), and then hope they pull out a 'moment'. Imagine how many more moments those players will have if they are playing within a sound, cohesive system that is more similar to their club sides and where everyone knows their roles. I'd love to see Foden/Bellingham and Saka/Palmer sharing a role and rotating as appropriate during a (hopefully) long tournament.
  7. I still can't believe that after equalising we didn't carry on in the same vein as the minutes leading up to the goal. I know Spain pinned us back, but all of the pressing and progressive passing just instantly stopped. Tiredness was a factor, in particular for Bellingham and Rice who were far too deep, but I still think it's born out of Southgate's overall cautiousness. I don't think Southgate is telling the players to drop deep or Pickford to lump it long, but also think he's not not telling them to do it. A more tactically astute manager would be coming down hard on those things and the players would feel less comfortable slipping into it.
  8. It’s all agent talk to get Roma to up their price.
  9. Come on Juve, sell your Soule!
  10. This isn't because of FFP, they would do it regardless to gain an advantage. They don't care what the fans think or what impact it will have on them.
  11. Exactly. I don't care how much they are paying, football clubs are meant to represent communities. Instead our club is more than willing to stoop to seedy levels just earn a better deal that helps paper over the deep damage suffered by their incompetence.
  12. It is, and yet people are upset, which tells you that it's another shitty decision in a long of other shitty decisions.
  13. I'm just sick of it to be honest. Ironically, it is the insane match ticket prices that is putting me off ditching my season ticket. They've trapped me in their web of greed and incompetence.
  14. People affected by gambling addiction probably care.
  15. Also, not a chance I'd touch Casadei. He looked lost in the Championship and it's rumoured that he had an influence in returning to Chelsea in January.
  16. How do these swap deals help PSR? We've gone from a world of very rare swap deals, to a transfer window made up of almost entirely swap deals. Presumably it wouldn't actually be a swap deal, but separate deals so that the full value can be used for the KDH sale?

    Jakub Moder

A lot of conclusion jumping in this thread. No one knows the details yet. Moder might be very cheap and worth the punt if he can stay fit. No one is claiming that he will be a direct replacement for KDH.

    New Kit

You either release it at the end of the season or you wait until pre-season. It would make no commercial sense to release it in the middle of the summer break when the Euros is on.
  19. The Premier League don’t decide the punishment, so there will no softening because of a few legal threats.
  20. It’s also noticeable that in Maresca’s first interview he spent most of it explaining how he wants the team to play and what his footballing philosophy is. Day one and he was selling “the idea”. Cooper didn’t really go into detail about, which may suggest that he’ll be quite flexible, which is something we all called for last season and something we absolutely need if we are going to stay up.
  21. Came across well, but my god those questions were terrible. Pretty much all of them were a theme on “This is an amazing club, how happy are you to be here?”. Looking forward to him being interviewed by someone not in-house where he might get asked to elaborate on how’ll he’ll approach things tactically and what exactly is this way of playing that he thinks Leicester fans like.
  22. Absolute nonsense. He does wear chinos, look..
  23. Underwhelmed. I think he’s got his qualities, but I can’t look past his negative tactics at Forest. We need more pragmatism next season, but this feels totally at odds with everything we’ve been building over the last year. I think my main frustration is that it’s another peek behind the curtain of a club where nothing adds up. There’s zero joined up thinking. I think he may be good at creating a siege mentality, but it just reeks of an appointment that will underwhelm and then get thrown under the bus by the people that are the real problem.
  24. My point is that it was an underwhelming appointment and it proved to be an underwhelming period.
  25. Ah yes, roaring success he was.
