  1. This. Recruiting the wrong man, to purchase the wrong players in the summer has cost us and that isn't on the players, that is on the board. Cooper should never have been employed. They panicked and crossed their fingers. We're down, but there is a glimmer of hope. At least we're in touching distance. I just see wolves being more stable and getting more points than us. Getting the players in we need is going to be tough due to the threat of relegation. If we were above the line we'll look a better proposition. As Muzzy says Everton and Wolves have hurt us a lot.
  2. He's the player we've needed for a few years.
  3. We're relegated, I agree. We need to buy for next season, in the championship before the transfer ban
  4. I couldn't make the game. Is this the start of RvN tactics taking shape, or was it Man city being poor
  5. Let's face it. This game isn't going to relegate us. Wolves at home could well have done. Sounds like the performance was commendable, which is more than we can say in other games and it was over both halves. Sucker punch, but they have a £1bn squad and that little quality is the difference
  6. Ayew injured?
  7. Okoli doesn't start. I'm surprised
  8. Team?
  9. Might be that panicked that Ward was a womble, so tried to rush him back. Jakub stood up and did well against Liverpoop, so it has given them some more breathing space not to rush him back? Who knows.
  10. No win, no fee
  11. This is the bit I don't understand either. It makes no sense to me. Very well put, better than me. Our golden era has been and gone. We're a stale club drifting away, where clubs around our stature and size have modernised and moving forward at pace. Relegation killed us and now we'll never be the level we want or used to be.
  12. Wellens. Definitely Wellens. But in all seriousness, it depends on which bit. On the pitch, you could look back at the decision to appoint cooper. Wrong man for the wrong club at the wrong time. He made some bad transfer decisions that we're suffering from today. Also, he wasnt tactically aware, and looked lost. Coaching was poor and execution of 'tactics', was poor. You could blame the players for their performances. Some just haven't been good enough. Too many individual errors and the same mistakes over and over again. But both are the fault of the board. Decisions have been wrong for a while. Managers employed, transfer decisions, contract length and value have been poor decision. Investment has been wrong for years. We e spent money, but completely in the wrong way. Is the stupid PSR rules to blame? We couldn't invest when we needed to, yet other clubs can. It's a domino affect. Inept management across all levels in this club, and that isn't an easy fix. Football managers come and go, but if the structure above is weak or incompetent, then it'll be the same pattern over and over again, PSR rules or not.
  13. Oh the irony. Musk being Canadian/South African. I know, I know. Just find it funny.
  14. That's a very short midfield. I would put Bouba in just for his presence. Skipp, Winks, Facundo etc.. is 5' nothing
  15. I know what we want in Jan.... A miracle!!!
  16. That wolves abomination looks more and more costly as each game passes. Cunha should have been banned straight away. This is so inept from the FA. He wasn't the reason we lost, we only have ourselves to blame. But not surprising, the governance of football as a whole is going down the toilet.
  17. Pep has child legs!!! How are they keeping him up right
  18. @The Bear - I think I agree with this as well out of the bottom 4 teams, you had the better squad. It was your manager that was holding you back. I would say your in the lower reaches of the prem and probably in a relegation fight, but you have a good chance to get out of it compared to us.
  19. Brighton are drawing a lot of games recently.
  20. Also factor in...will top sell up when we go down? If that happens, it changes a lot. I know people don't like the way he's running the club, but if we don't have a buyer and he just doesn't invest, we could be deep poo poo. I'm not saying it'll happen, but it's a scenario that we've seen a few times.
  21. The EFL will throw the book at us and more. They'll take great pleasure in punishing us and try to relegate us again as an example. Don't underestimate how miffed they are
  22. Depends what happens. Transfer embargo, player sales and who goes and who is forced to stay. It could get very messy
  23. If they don't play For any of the top 10, then the media do t have a scooby, which is lazy.
  24. I think this is a fair summary. I thought at the time that the goal before half time would change the game. If we went in 1-0, Liverpool might have been more frustrated and possibly make more mistakes. But alas it wasn't meant to be. They're top of the premier League and top of the champions league for a reason.
