  1. This isn't me saying I want it to be Wilder, but how proud I would be to have a manager who has that passion for our club, talks that much sense, and just gets it. I don't advise listening to the full 16 mins but there's some brilliant sound bites all over social media from this interview.
  2. What angers me more than the dross on the pitch is the passiveness in the stands, no passion to get behind the team but equally no anger or emotion at the players, the manager and those responsible. Just sat on your ****ing hands sighing, and sarcastically cheering, our fan base lacks as much fight as those who wear the shirt.
  3. We just got clapped off
  4. Element of disrespect from Sky to only give the game a 10 minute build up and are 3 minutes late to the scheduled programme.
  5. Absolutely buzzing. 46:38 at Wakefield this morning, a 40s PB and nearly 2 and a half minutes faster than last year around the same route. Had no idea where I would be with a lot of my training being at slower pace, a small shin splints scare last week and a few days away in London Thursday and Friday where I came slightly off the rails from a nutritional perspective. Back to it training wise now and the ambitious task of going nearly 100s quicker at Barnsley in just over 3 months.
  6. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/ckg81nppwyko Guardiola stating that the evolution of the Premier League is pretty much down to him and his City team raising the bar which sums everything up doesn't it? Essentially saying even those who weren't traditional contenders are now spending well above themselves to compete- which has to be strictly within guidelines. While him and his City side have operated outside of the rules. I think Capello hits the nail on the head but not just around Italian football, top flight football in general has been harmed by Guardiola types, it's just bland expensive, rinse and repeat shite, it has no soul and is far from the game many of us fell in love with.
  7. Sounds like Mladen Sormaz learnt from the best during his time at the club, it's like reading this forum but in red... https://barnsleyfc.org.uk/threads/bfc-site-club-statement-darrell-clarke.336185/
  8. Apart from Campbell, I think he was their best player tonight, he's absolutely everywhere when their defending their box and breaks up so many attacks.
  9. You could be mistaken for forgetting he's so young, he plays the game like a seasoned pro, loves a challenge and takes no sh*t. Id love for us to produce a player like that.
  10. We make it so hard for ourselves, actually defend well for the majority of the game but a sloppy moment of backing off a player punishes is.
  11. I like Soumare and will usually defend him, excellent is the opposite of what he has been so far today.
  12. I know we need something more upfront, but Daka does a job working hard and dropping into defend, only Ayew gives you that off the bench. Soumare is the concern at moment.
  13. I don't expect us to be carving them open, but the lack of goals will continue if we choose to turn and play back to the centre halfs rather than 4 or 5 of the players who are in advanced positions. The more frustrating aspect is that when we do make that pass we appear to just play it into space rather than to the man and turn it over. Saying that, in terms of 45 mins, this one has been one of the better ones of the year so far
  14. That Bournemouth goal is something we can only dream of (I appreciate any goal is ATM), brilliant by Kerkez, the run, the delivery and then the finish.
  15. We've been ok but when we have a chance to get forward we either turn back or pass to no one, Chelsea have been pretty awful but create something from nothing. It's pretty ugly from both sides.
  16. Admittedly you want out of it when your own team is in it, but it's a clear reminder of everything that is wrong with the premier league. Atmosphere at Portsmouth is brilliant.
  17. I've watched Cov Stoke and Pompey Leeds and both games have been well above the Prem games shown on TV. The quality isn't quite there, but the games just feel like they have so much more to them than the Prem which is becoming such a tired watch.
  18. We had a works overnight stay at Loughborough uni this week, took 2 lads I work with on a steady 5k Thursday morning. It quickly became a case of getting one up on one another as 5k became 10k, the pace constantly quickening and with a few k to go on the way back the convo went quiet as we were all suffering in silence. The 3 of us were then humbled as 2 girls cruised past us as we went up the hill on the campus Fortunately a pretty good run in prep for me ahead of next Sunday's 10k.
  19. Torp at Coventry looks very good, sounds as though he's playing as Rudoni is out at the minute who I was also really impressed with from what I saw from him in a poor Huddersfield side last year. Some good business from them.
  20. Just under 2 weeks out from the Wakefield 10k and I know I'm in a much better position physically than I was last year. I ran a 49:05 last year which was a way off my 47:18 PB mainly due to injury. The aim for 2 weeks is to run a 47min 10k ahead of going sub 45min at Barnsley in June, lots to do but I genuinely have no idea where I'm at with how I have approached this race.
  21. The current law isn't administered because it's a nightmare to manage and not fit for purpose. An indirect free kick on the very edge of the box which is likely to have most of the 20 outfield players becomes a massive potential for further incidents, especially when the defending team are all likely to be stood just out of and in the 6yard box. The actual judgement of the 6 seconds is rather simple in theory but when you have attacking players who run across keepers who are looking to release and teams that are trying to get into position, or a position that wouldn't compromise them turning the ball over to the opposition it again isn't as simple as a flat 6 seconds, especially when with the consequence of an indirect free kick which an attacking team has a high chance of scoring. The final bit is that players rarely complain and they are the ones officials have to manage throughout a game and try and keep on side. The ruling mainly annoys the fans but unless it's really taking the piss, and arguably that's where the law should be used, most players are happy for the extra breather and opportunity to get back in position. The new law will be interesting to see, I know a number of officials that have used it in academy games and as always you have keepers releasing it right at the last second, which then causes an argument of when did the keeper exactly take control of the ball, did the ref count the 8 seconds or run if off their watch etc, it just becomes another thing for everyone to scrutinise, but a corner is a safer option and easier to manage than the previous indirect freekick.
  22. That was very much on the club and not Rodgers. It's catch 22, the way Rodgers wanted us to operate has largely led to our financial position now, the board didn't want/couldn't afford to continue backing us in such a way and he threw the towel in. It was then a toxic mess of a man who wanted to go but wouldn't walk, and a board who wanted rid but didn't want to pay up. As always we the fans were the ones to pay.
  23. I thought it was semi-automated?
  24. It was, but they don't need to put an emotional chairman on to the TV at half time wound up. It's just to help generate the controversy and for some video and audio sound bites they can use.
  25. This is poor from the BBC, why let someone with an emotional investment comment on that tackle now? it happened barely 45mins ago.
