  1. Club run last night and the group was largely made up of faster runners who wanted a good hill to run up. Pretty impressed that I was able to keep pace going up and have improved on a segment time of 8:36 in Jan to 6:27 last night. Aim is now to work hard over the next few months to keep the Christmas weight off and keep chipping time away on my runs. I've got Wakefield 10k lined up in March which I ran in 49:10 this year, albeit with a small injury, going to work towards going sub-45 which will be a big ask.
  2. For what? Nothing wrong with any of it, get into them!
  3. Carsely, is that a joke?!
  4. Time for a Ruud awakening?
  5. Not stick your arm out
  6. The Thomas assist yesterday, it was the only real opportunity he had to get at his man and a pretty poor game overall from both teams so nice to see him take his chance to get at his man.
  7. At Barnsley Wigan, Silko Thomas has just tied the defender in knots for an assist, brilliant individual play.
  8. I said id give him up until the last international break, I don't think he's the right guy for the job and it's time for a change. Saying that, I don't fully put the blame on him, he shouldn't have been appointed in the first place and had we known there wasn't a points deduction coming I think we would have gone another route. The club continues to mess up in many aspects but the fact we have people who seem to make such unsavoury comments, name call and abuse the bloke is pretty poor.
  9. Also this was pretty popular during lockdown don't know if anyone on here still looks at it, I still do from time to time. https://strava.app.link/NqPtMQ7OAOb
  10. Their are some bloody good times coming in and a lot of PRs either being beaten or under threat, great reading!
  11. This is exactly why we're not running 10km's
  12. 12km ticked off at run club last night coming off the back of 3 consecutive days in the gym and a speed session Sunday. First 10 mins the legs felt like they wouldn't get past the half hour mark but after that I felt pretty good. Now for a couple of rest days coinciding with a massive drop in temperatures
  13. Id suggest that a pull would be more of a dull ache, from my previous experience. In saying that I'm not sure what a shooting pain would be! Hope it recovers soon!
  14. As a long time poster on here, this place has become a cesspit of negativity. Even through some of our worst times when I first posted on here it was never this bad. I found that over the past few years I was becoming disillusioned with the club while posting on here, I then took some time away from this site and actually enjoyed being a fan of the club again. This season I realised I was falling back into the same trap and since have tried to limit my time on this section of the forum and mainly stick to the General Chat section and I'd say my overall mood is far better surrounding the club and games. I guess I fall under the happy clapper banner now but I'd take it with reading the constant drone of despair, and state of doom and gloom many on here would want you to believe we are in. Limiting time on Foxestalk, coming off of 'X' and reducing my interaction with City fans and those of other clubs over the internet has genuinely led to a better experience as a fan again and a better mood overall.
  15. Id still like to see Okoli and Vesty, I just think Faes has too many errors in him in and out of possession.
  16. Think we would solve so many of our own problems removing Faes from that back line.
  17. Looks more like a personal gripe, he's not been great but nor has anyone else! More concerned about Wout calamity Faes than VK.
  18. Can't say I'm surprised about Robins, the club moving towards this new age head coach model and away from the traditional manager approach was never going to be a happy ending. Some of their leadership team staffing recruitments have been from those who have a traditional organisational background rather than coming through at a club. I imagine the writing has been on the wall for him and those in charge were looking for the first excuse to get him out the door.
  19. I echo what the others have said mate great work on getting it done, there's a lot of people who don't for one reason or another so the fact you are gets huge respect because we all know how hard it is. Running for time is definitely one way of doing it over a certain distance, and to be honest it doesn't matter if you run a bit then walk a bit or walk, jog, run and mix it up. For years I just did 5ks and got ok fit, since varying it up to do long slow runs, some quicker runs with walks in, and some faster paced 5k runs my fitness has improved massively and the weight has flown off. Keep it up mate 💪
  20. I think this is probably the most concerning aspect, how many people (turns out a lot of US citizens) are quite happy to normalise who he is, what he says, and what he stands for.
  21. We've got a couple of absolute killers in Barnsley, either long and never ending or just ridiculous incline that aren't as long but take everything out of you. As much as I hate them they've made me a better runner! The one on Monday got me because I could see and hear some of our better runners finding it tough which mentally killed me!
  22. A little late but just watched the first series of The Diplomat, really enjoyable, was hoping it would be a little more serious but I think it gets the balance right after the first few episodes.
  23. I'll give it a go at some point, the Mrs fox Nd it funny that I was so edge playing a game, she lasted 5 mins watching it before asking me to turn it off I feel like Alien would be on another level!
  24. Dead Space, literally 20 mins at a time, this game is not good for your health
  25. My first club run in a while last night. 11.5km total, the half way point consisted of possibly the worst hill I have ever run up which I will now refer to as a tw@t of a hill, and the last 800m of the run was an uphill Strava segment which I went up in 6th out of a group of 7 and got to the finish in 3rd with a 20s PB on. A good night all in all.
