  1. Well done to the lad, he gave everything for the team tonight. Technically he's not as good as others but he causes problems when you give him some space to get into and he defends well.
  2. He looked immense in parts tonight, his reading of the game is brilliant, he always sees the next picture just need him to piece together all parts of his performance consistently. Also the run to stop Summerville breaking on the counter, where did that pace come from?!
  3. You've been around long enough to know if its on FT its gospel.
  4. I assume he meant after we played Chelsea and when Cooper was dismissed and he was approached. Could be wrong though as there were reports when he went in for the Coventry job he had spoken to us as well- would that have been in the same timeframe?
  5. I wouldn't say your sticking your neck out, it's a sensible post. He's built a career around developing players, it's a completely different remit to managing a first team in one of the toughest leagues in the world. As you say tactics and setup were poor, but I imagine he was working with a group of players who potentially didn't want to give their all for him that day either. One of those days we just have to move on from.
  6. Well on one of the local paper websites this way, he was off to Leeds so
  7. Without putting a negative on it, I imagine he needed the numbers in training to be able to get a session on worthwhile for those who were on the bench or didn't play Saturday. Not saying that he can't impress in that scenario but normally just a numbers exercise.
  8. Man City always looked like a team who played every pass with a purpose, now their making passes for the sake of it and going backwards. A number of their simple passes can't even find a man, that's worrying for a team of this quality.
  9. Clearances is one stat, the area he puts them into would be more meaningful. The amount of needless set pieces and throw-ins he gives away, or possession he turns over in dangerous areas because he can't get a proper contact on the ball would be more telling.
  10. Hopefully he sees this squad for what it is, one that you cannot rely on to sit in, keep it tight at the back and defend the box. Our best performances (45 minutes at a time) so far this season have come when we have an emphasis on going forward, whether that is on the ball, or pressing high out of possession. While I wasn't against Cooper far too often our front 3 would push up while everyone else was in our own half, it just left too much space, today again a ball would drop in midfield and we were sat so deep we have no one in there to contest second balls. Get us up the pitch, take the emphasis away from relying on the likes of Faes and Justin to defend our box and I think we will start making some headway.
  11. Let's hope we have a manager coming in that can see this is a team that can get forward and cause teams a problem when we actually commit. I wasn't against Cooper like many on here but his insistence for us to sit in and be compact, as we tried today just leads to our own downfall. We only look decent when we get at teams so let's hope Ruud goes with a those who are more positive and progressive on the ball i.e Facundo, Bilal and Stephy.
  12. Gutted, apart from his moment of stupidity last night he's been a rock for them
  13. Bring Souttar back? We lack a player that can defend the box like he has been for Sheff Utd, his weakness is on the ball but the reality is we need to get back to centre backs who can defend first.
  14. As I say I reckon he's rotten off the pitch, a loan would do but I really feel like we can't have him anywhere near this club for much longer
  15. Amazes me that a centre half can meet so many balls and put them anywhere but back up the pitch, astounding skill.
  16. Let's hope there's still some interest in him come January, you get the impression hes as rotten off the pitch as he is on it.
  17. So some of the view that it's taken VAR too long to make what should be an easy decision and others are saying it's a clear goal... Who'd be an official?
  18. Yessss!! Up the blades!
  19. Sorry mate I'll pay up
  20. Normally I'd agree but I think all 3 key decisions he's got right to be fair
  21. Sunderland all over Sheff Utd, carbon copy of our game last year. Failing to find any end product and had one saved from the spot, can see Utd making them pay.
  22. Funny how he refers to the Copenhagen party as the club having dealt with the issue, you wouldn't think there's largely anything negative about it. Other than that, strange game this, kind of as if everyone is going there to accept that what will be will be before the new guard arrives.
  23. If whoever it is could bring Souttar back and get him involved, fed up of the Mrs telling me how good he is for them.
  24. What makes Corberan less disastrous? Don't get me wrong I'm not against him but we've just writ off a guy for his track record and then people are buzzing over one who's not achieved much at all apart from doing well on a small budget. The few Baggies I know have said their main issue this season has been scoring goals and if they aren't getting a tune out of Maja their pretty toothless. As I say I'm not against Corberan but I haven't seen anything that would make me want us to commit everything to bring him in.
