I'm not 100% sure but I like this site as a general rule of thumb. But going off the list from last season, players who've left now have taken around Β£350,000 a week off our wage bill.... if its correct.
-
If Capology wages from last season (before the relegation pay cut) are correct, our top 5 earners all only have one year left.

Its a personal one I more than anything actually to do with Mark Davies himself. At the time I really liked him, thought he was going to stay with Leicester as we bid for him whilst he was on loan....then he left early and it was Megson that took him to Bolton -

Mark Davies & Wesley Fofana (for how they both left) come to mind for me. -
James Justin (signed for Leeds, official. 10m.)

Thats correct he would be all profit, as when he signed it was a five year deal in 2019. -

Think it said the first home game when it was announced

Bilal El Khannouss (Stuttgart loan, official)

There are links for both players today, which is the only reason I used Justin. -

We would probably make a similar PSR profit selling Justin instead of Bilal, which I would rather do -
If we are moving a couple of players out to get Brownhill in, it makes sense. Smaller player squad, lower wage bill overall and a goalscoring midfielder that we need. He's also younger than Coady by a good couple of years.
-
I'd be happy with both Justin and Coady moving on thinking about it. We need to trim the squad down and arguably there's a decent chance neither would start next season. We have plenty of options in these positions.
-
Long term could be three years, with an option of a fourth. Sounds alright after the last couple of seasons he's had.
-
Same here. There's as much risk with signing a player like this, who should be on the 'up' as signing a proven championship player or prem loan.

5m on a five year deal is probably a similar amount of money a decent loan from the Prem would cost, when you include wages.
-
The PSR they are allowed is about a third of the Premier league level, and the prems average wage is apparently 60k a week. According to football industry data website Capology.com, Wrexham had the third-highest payroll in League One this term. The total players' salaries are estimated at a gross amount of Β£205,200 per week or Β£10.67m per year. Leicester City FC's (Championship) Estimated Total Gross Salaries for the 2025-2026 Season is Β£52,286,000, or Β£1,005,500 per week, so there's a pretty big difference between the two.
-
Wrexham's can potentially spend significantly in the Championship. They can lose up to Β£39m over a three-year period while adhering to PSR. Wrexham's 2023-24 loss of Β£2.7m will be included in next season's PSR calculation.. so they have quite a lot to spend really compared to others teams. I also recon they do well with sponsorship deals etc, and a fairly low wage bill till this season.

That's the problem isn't it. The list of midfielders who player centrally we have dont offer goals, or too much defensive work overall.

Mads out, Brownhill in hopefully.
-
I'm fine for now with a lack of incomings...its the lack of getting rid of players which bothers me more.
