From Wikipedia: Future quiz questions on tall Australian footballers; At 1.98 metres (6 ft 6 in), Harry Souttar is the second tallest player to have represented the full Australia national team, behind Zeljko Kalac at 2.02 metres (6 ft 8 in) EDIT: Slow Sports news - just found this earlier in the thread :-(

Wesley Fofana - He is no more - finished - forgotten.
RichMC24 replied to Sly's topic in Transfer Talk
How is it a shambles? How do LCFC stop other clubs bidding for players ? All they can do is turn down bids, but if a silly offer comes in, it has to be considered. 100m for Fofana gets the deal done - desperately disappointing if he goes but the club has time to replace if it happens. At the minute, they are saying he's not for sale ! Where's the shambles ? -
Don't have to. I am behind Amartey in the pecking order....as are you !!

Just in case anyone forgot - we have a European semi final tonight !! I fully understand the clamour to sack Rodgers if we don't win by at least 8 goals, allowing us to go for any one of the plethora of up & coming Pep Guardiola's who are all dying to manage Leicester. Happy to concede that we really should be achieving more than just the odd Premier League/FA Cup/Top 5 finish in what is the most sustained period of success in our history. I get that it's just not good enough. Anything short of continual improvement resulting in world domination is for very short-sighted, limited ambition, happy to settle, losers who are weighed down by 138 years of history. I get all that - but could we leave that until tomorrow and just enjoy yet another historic club landmark with this dismal manager and his sub standard players?

Yeah, 96 appearances, 12 goals screams disaster

I'm pretty positive about it all really. Football managers can't simply discard their entire philosophy just because things aren't working very well. Rodgers has a clear, preferred way he wants his teams to play and over the last three years we have seen our best sustained period of success. I think most sensible people would have taken successive 5th place finishes and an FA Cup win had Rodgers offered that when he signed. I get the disappointment of dropping out of the top 4 but I don't subscribe to the "bottler" tag at all. Staying in the top four is stupidly hard. That's why no-one outside the top 6 generally ever get in there. It's a testament we ever got close. Clearly this year, injuries have disrupted the season. Rodgers has tried to instil his preferred playing method into available resources but this hasn't been very successful. Credit to Rodgers though as he hasn't stuck doggedly to his game plan, he has adapted. That adaptation might appear slow to football fans, but as a manager, it's unwise to make sweeping changes to tactics mid-season or to keep chopping ang changing every game. Footballers need clear direction and continuity - need time to adjust and develop themselves to suit a certain style. You don't just throw that all away because results are bad. Rodgers though has made tweaks, playing more direct at times, defensive setups, pushing out to the wings when Vardy isn't playing rather than through the middle. I can't really understand the Rodgers out brigade. It's a frustrating season but this isn't the same as Ranieri 2nd season, or Puel. We were obviously going in the wrong direction then and needed to change. For me, we need to finish as strongly as possible, get our players back, have a good summer, freshen the squad and I'm looking forward to enjoying a better season next year. Definitely a Rodgers in guy. You never know when you'll be lumbered with the next Peter Taylor.

What are you doing tonight instead? 👀

I'm still recovering from the 1-0 Boxing Day defeat at home to them in 2004. Bad as this week was, it was nothing compared to the hopelessness of that day. -

Gonna enjoy watching us play Liverpool, win lose or draw and be happy that we are playing them rather than Rotherham. -
Blimey, Owen Jones is a fox ?

Nothing has changed. It's the usual over reaction to a couple of iffy results. We are not and never have been a top6 club. The target is to disrupt the top6 regularly (not every season) and we have done that in the last two seasons. This year we have been hit hard by injuries. This has resulted in players being a little inconsistent and dropping form. In comparison, it hasn't been a great season and because expectations are high, it feels disappointing. Seriously though. Everyone needs to chill out. All teams go through periods of decline, all players go through a drop in form. We are not having the best time of it admittedly and yet we are 10th. We have Wilf and Kel coming back from AFCON, Justin is back, hopefully Fofana, Evans, Vardy, Castagne, Pereira soon. In this period we have seen more of KDH, Thomas & Hamza with mixed results as you would expect from young lads coming in. We've had some great results mixed in with some disappointments. Its football, its the Premier League - we are not Man City. In my opinion we are doing a fine job amongst fierce competition considering all the disruption. Hopefully a very busy summer will sort out the Tielemans issue, one ay or another - move a few on - bring a few in and we go again next season and have a bit more luck with injuries. In the meantime, we should still be relishing a chance to defend the FA Cup, win a European trophy and possibly sneak into a Euro spot via the league. All things that for the first 40 years of my life seemed impossible. Enjoy the ride folks - less of the self entitled whinging. Football is cyclical and I guarantee we'll be back into the Championship at some point in the coming years (see Stoke, Blackburn, Bolton, Forest, Sheff Wed etc ). To be in 10th position in a bad season really is still amazing. Don't get used to it - enjoy every minute while it lasts. Peace !!

Leicester 1-1 Brighton - Post Match Thread
RichMC24 replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Big of you to simultaneously acknowledge and disregard a sensational achievement. It's a struggling side decimated by injuries, sitting comfortably in mid-table. a couple of games ago, we beat Liverpool. Just do everyone a favour and feck off to the Etihad. -
Same old, same old… if you don’t agree with me, you are stupid. around and around we go. Many people on this thread are knee-taking enthusiasts shouting racist at anyone who questions it. It’s not a debate. Most people booing the knee-taking are not knuckle dragging racists and are sick of being labelled as such. Personally I don’t care for taking the knee, but I wouldn’t boo it. it’s not making anything better, it’s just stoking more and more division. Footballers taking the knee in solidarity against racism and equality whilst trying to qualify for a World Cup in Qatar is ridiculous.
-
Yeah, you’re right. There’s a lot less racism about now.
-
Taking the knee isn’t really working though is it ? Pretty much making things worse.
-
Brilliant today. Man of the match for me. Sensational.
-
Exactly this. Don’t worry man, the silent majority know and understand. The meltdown on here is not particularly representative of the fan base. It’s like Twitter. Just a vocal minority.
-
Frightening. These people walk among us. 😳😳😳
-
I don’t add much these days although I’m an avid reader. Just dropped in to this to say that Justin has gone from the obvious weak link in the side in September to one of our best players. I love Ricky P and Castagne but I think the side would be poorer without James in it. Genuine superstar. Well done chap. What a time to be a LCFC fan. Enjoy it folks. There will be dark times ahead. This is the pinnacle. Long may it last.
-
Awful. Fully appreciate we are third in the league and we really have no right to complain but that was dreadful. Strolling round the pitch like superstars. No urgency, no intensity. Really poor. Tbh, all this pissing about at the back was irritating when we were winning. Now we’re losing, it’s really annoying. Jesus Wept, mix it up a bit.!
-
Surely it’s twaddle ?
-
Agreeing whilst completely misinterpreting the post to make a stupid, cheap political point. Only one party forced to apologise for racism, and it wasn’t the Tories.

King Brendan ...... ohhh how lucky we are
RichMC24 replied to LinekersLugs's topic in Leicester City Forum
That wasn’t the full interview. I very much got the impression that there are discussions going on. He made it clear that Leicester are in a great position and that he has done great work bringing the team on. Seemed like he was pitching the point that he has brought us on and will leave us better off. That’s how I read it. -
