Said it before and I’ll say it again he’s a box to box midfielder. He’s an 8 in this system it’s so obvious, he looked more comfortable against Stoke in the middle than he has out wide. Do I think he would be good enough in the Prem? Probably not. However he’s definitely a top end of the Championship player for me.

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast

Agreed. It’s good to find jobs for the legends but listening to some of the drivel from Cottee on commentary was mind numbing. He quite clearly has little to no grasp of modern football and it was painful at points him talking dinosaur opinions on football. Can we not get the likes of Liam Moore on commentary instead? -
He’s our metronome and this is his first howler, just shows how good he is that it’s taken this long to happen. I’ve said it before but you don’t just boss a game against prime Modric and Kroos. He’s special, he does mad shit like having a 100% pass completion rate in a game - which is mad in a league like the Championship. He just needs to have a bit more swagger and play like he’s the bollocks because he’s top drawer and it’s a joke that he’s played Championship football this season.

McAteer is an 8. Please stop playing him on the wing Enzo.

I wouldn’t piss on Ryan Porteous if he was on fire the ****.
-
Big physical team Watford, go with Doyle for his aerial presence and for the switches out wide to Fatawu
-
You’ve gotta go solid at the back for this one I reckon. Hermansen Faes Coady Doyle Ricky P Winks Fatawu McAteer KDH Mavididi Daka

I’d like Enzo to be brave and get Nelson playing the middle CB role and keep Faes at the RCB position. Nelson is both footed, calm/composed, quick and has the passing range to break the lines.
-
To be fair to the club. Vestergaard looked like he was out the exit door and we had no one to play the middle CB role. Coady gets injured just before the season starts and Jannik has a change of heart. Sometimes these things happen.
-
Can only see Coady heading for the exit door this summer now.
-
For how well he’s played he’s massively lucky not to have a red there Kasey.
-
I apologise. It’s hard to tell at the minute on here with some seriously strange takes on our football under the manager.
-
Bore off.

McAteer looks a player in this 8 role. I think having Casadei lumbering round the gaff has actually prevented us from playing him here sooner.
-
The problem is you piss of the players agent, that then can cause issues later down the line with any of the agent/agency’s other clients. We have a track record now of botching transfer deals Silva/Harrison/Sensi. If players and agents think you are a poorly ran business they will look to go elsewhere.
-
Proper amateur this. Absolute ****ing shit show. Issues like this show how incompetent you are at your job.
-
He’ll probably sign a pre-contract agreement for the summer now.
-
He employs people to run the business for him. That being said he now needs to wake up and smell the shit that Jon Rudkin is.
-
Honestly I ****ing hate Jon Rudkin.
-
I swear to every God in the sky if this deal doesn’t get done and we don’t have the full ground singing we want Rudkin out against Sheffield Wednesday, this club deserves administration.

It all stems back to how the game is officiated though for me. The reason you don’t see many challenges anymore is because football can barely still be considered a contact sport at this point, even shoulder to shoulder contact now is often blown for fouls. We are at the point where you can be booked/sent off for making an attempted challenge where you’ve not made contact with an opponent if the referee deems it reckless or dangerous. So you can see why players and managers are risk averse because it all goes back to the strictness of officiating and the constant drive to eliminate contact from the game.
-
Think that has more to do with refereeing than anything tbh. The days of aggressive challenges are long gone, Fatawu’s sending off at Cov is a perfect example of that, 10 years ago he’d have had a booking, 20 years ago it would have been a foul. Now it’s a sending off and a 3 match ban. The “blood and thunder” has been taken out of the game by the officials and the rules, not managers or tactics.

That’s your CB partnership for the next 10 years if the club gets its way

I don’t mean in talent or ability but he reminds me of Trent AA in his style. Saw people saying that pass to Vardy was a channel ball but if you watch it carefully he just whips it and it’s a meant pass. If he can stay grounded and work hard he could get games for us because he’s versatile and young enough to learn off Ricardo.
