Exactly what we should be doing with the stage we are at. Spend the money on a couple of young quality gems that have great resale value and loan the areas that need strengthening without causing a mess financially. To find players on a permanent that strengthen the starting 11 in the following positions is going to cost a minimum of £80m. Left back CAM Winger Midfielder Striker

I completely get people talking about Szmodics only doing it for one season and I’m neither against or for Szmodics in all fairness but his finishing last season was elite level. Watch his goals back, the majority are well placed quality finishes and he doesn’t require 3 chances to get one goal.

Yes please, everytime I’ve seen Keita play he reminds me very much of Mainoo, similar style of players.

Don’t know if they will let him leave, but I would happily have Harry Amass here for a year on loan. -

In all seriousness tho this is where all the dummies that support Rudkin and KP like they can do no wrong, will say “they can’t help how much they have to spend because of PSR” Yet will ignore the fact he spent 1/3 of the budget on an area we are most well stocked. -

Surely that budget was pre KDH sale otherwise the budget was initially £10-£20m! -
Chelsea only have £8.5m of his transfer left on the books so anything over that price will be a profit for them regardless.
-
Most I would probably feel comfortable the club paying before it becomes an overpay is £18m plus add ons. £25m seems very steep.
-
Hopefully get a couple of million on a loan fee.
-
Absolute mental fee. Man City only had £8.5m left on the books of the original transfer so making a profit of £72.5m!!!

I like Carvalho but I worry Liverpool are going to want over £20m and he’s not worth that in my opinion. I do wonder whether we are looking at spending £20m on a couple of players or just the one. Him and Asprilla would be very good business with resale value and would give you depth in the 3 behind the striker with Fatawu, Stephy, Reid, Carvalho and Asprilla.

I think one problem we face and I came across this when putting together a list of targets on the who do you want thread, is the lack of good strikers available who aren’t worth a fortune or have been snapped up by big clubs to hoard. The best option currently is Fotis Ionnidis and your probably still talking over £20m.

I have no idea why it came out like that but couldn’t change the text -

Realistically to have a competitive 22 man squad in the premier league we need around 5 more players in my opinion. Left back - We have Kristensen but I’m really not sold that he is the answer, we need a left back with real attacking quality based of the shape we have seen this pre-season. Dream signing - Quilindschy Hartman (Feyenoord) Other options: Alfie Doughty (Luton) Chilwell (loan) Harry Amass (Loan) Adrian Truffert (Rennes) Melvin Bard (Nice) Bradley Locko (Brest) Centre defensive mid - We only have Winks, Wilf and Hamza another body is needed in there. Preferably with a bit more creativity. Dream signing - Andre (Fluminense) Other options: Joris Chotard (Montpellier) Lucas Gourna-Douath (Salzburg) Samuele Ricci (Torino) Alan Varela (Porto) Gustavo Hamer (Sheff Utd) Mandela Keita (Antwerp) Centre attacking mid - We have no one who is comfortable playing this role and I would argue even if we had KDH still he wouldn’t of been the answer either. We need some real creativity in there, Sara would have been prefect but obviously no longer available. Dream signing - O’Riley (Celtic) Other options: Nanasi (Malmo) Bilal el Khannouss (Genk) Sergio Arribas (Almeria) Reo Hatate (Celtic) Angel Gomes (Lille) Sammie Szmodics (Blackburn) Right winger - one more body is needed here, preferably someone who is fluid across the line. Dream signing - Bobb (Man City) Other options: Nelson (Arsenal) Asprilla (Watford) Thiago Fernandez (Velez) Yunus Akgun (Galatasaray) Takefusa Kubo (Real Sociedad) Edon Zhegrova (Lille) Striker - It seems this year is going to be another year of depending on 37 year old Vardy. All striker options currently at the club have the exact same traits, a target man or deep lying forward who can link up play is needed. Dream Signing - Fotis Ioannidis (Panathinaikos) or Terem Moffi (OGC Nice) Other options: Maximilian Beier (Hoffenhaim) Faris Moumbagna (Marseille) The lack of available strikers across Europe is a bit concerning. -
In terms of the overall quality of teams you face yes. But if you’re a standout player in the championship and performed against the top boys of the league that year, you’ll likely have a good career in the premier league if given the chance. The problem is the only ones that give them a chance are teams favourites for relegation so the player themselves jumps between leagues and isn’t able to truly show their worth in a good premier league team.

Honestly people need to relax on the expectation of the young lads. Cannon, Alves, Braybrooke, Nelson all need a season long loan of regular football, many that are expecting them to be second option to any position are going to very disappointed.
-
Significantly higher than £15m would indicate to me £25m+ as much as I like the lad I personally would pass at that price.

Pep’s stated he will be involved in their squad this season, fair play to the lad if true. edit - only just seen the other replies stating the same thing. -
Championship is criminally underrated from the perspective of premier league clubs which I find crazy personally. The championship and bundersliga in my opinion are the two leagues most similar to the premier league from a tempo perspective.
-
As much as I really want this to happen I don’t believe he fixes the creativity problem, he seems more of a ball carrier than someone who slots the passes in for runners. Hopefully he’s not the only attacking addition.

Saturday 3 August v FC Augsburg pre-season friendly
Bluearmyfox28 replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Literally said to a few lads last night that the performance very much reminded me of the relegation season. Fed up of hearing people say pre-season is only for conditioning, yes that’s true for teams that already have an identity, for new managers pre-season is vital for implementing your blue print of how you want your team to play. Look at how many new managers comment on the effect not having a full Pre-season with a team can have. The performances haven’t been good enough and although I respect Cooper being honest about us not being premier league standard with those performances I do question whether that’ll be good for the players confidence prior to even playing a league game. Still bothers me that we didn’t get Carlos Corberan, genuinely felt he was perfect for the next few seasons. -
We’ve just had our first decent link in a week or two, can we enjoy this first before it falls through?!
-
I would be very surprised if Alves’ future in the pro game isn’t as a left winger. He needs a loan of full season development in the championship prior to us thinking about him being in the squad imo.
-
Very interesting article about him on SkySports, intriguing to see that it states he see’s himself as a no.10 not a winger. https://www.skysports.com/football/story-telling/11686/13188812/next-up-yaser-asprilla-watford-s-rising-star-modelled-on-ronaldinho
