I’ve not enjoyed us since Ranieri went if I’m honest (except for a few games- Man City 5-2). But I can hand it to Maresca, I believe he is the best manager of the overall club since Pearson and I am excited that we will see similar growth off the pitch.

Whilst walking the dog this morning I was asked if I was looking forward to Saturday’s game. I told the person I can’t look forward to watching this Leicester team and the way they play, because i don’t like this style of play, I like direct football. I really like Maresca and back him with his mentality he is bringing to the club but it’s a strange feeling to only be looking forwarding to singing WYS before kick off, rather than the actual match itself. This is a very simplified description but does anyone else have these thoughts regarding the current team. For the record I think we’ll win 3-0, especially if they have original Danny Ward in goal.

Don’t know if this is any help but have a feeling you are near to where I grew up (Western Park). I’m late 20s, have two siblings, none of us have learned to drive, we’ve all done alright for ourselves already. I’d tell them to only learn if it really benefits them, like you say it’s a big undertaking and the necessary understanding to go with a car is huge. Once I realised I could walk into town, I didn’t care. My parents discouraged from driving by them(not a financial decision at all), as a result I walk everywhere. I unfortunately know people who have died in a car crashes when they were of a similar age. I really wish it was not the norm to drive by the time you’re 18.

XL bully has certain amplified fears regarding any bull breeed. I’ve always liked Rottweilers, always found them well behaved but would never have one because of their potential if they did turn nasty. If a responsible owner has a bull-breed they know if there is any inkling of trouble with that kind of dog, they are appropriately restrained. I certainly agree with regulation but don’t know how it would be forced. About 5 minutes before typing this response I walked through Leicester station and saw an XL bully off the lead with an owner who was effectively drunk. My point is that if he had a Labrador, I wouldn’t have been worried nor would he have caused others to run off. I know mastiff’s or purebred/regulated bull breeds are not as dangerous as an XL, however I feel that despite as you say there can be some lovely ones, the risk is far higher to the public, because of their potential. Nonetheless, as my anecdote regarding the owner and XL at the station shows, like you say owners are a denominating factor, therefore they need to be regulated themselves! -Apologies typed up walking back

Like I said it is largely these dogs, I referenced Pug in my first post, demonstrating that it’s not all these dogs, but largely them. If you look at the deaths caused by dogs in the UK, they are largely Brachycephalic dogs. Obviously there would be more nuance to such ruling but I don’t believe Mastiff and Bull types such be allowed out in public without regulations, we don’t have to argue over the semantics.

No but it is those type of dogs, Brachycephalic, that can cause serious damage. So we may say correlation rather than causation through that type of head(Brachycephalic) but that umbrella term considers most dogs that have a more dangerous jaw type than your Labrador or collie. I believe in the interest of public safety that mastiff, bull-type breeds etc should always be restrained or more helpfully muzzled in public. Staffies are great with humans generally, but from my experience they have always caused conflict with other dogs and therefore are a danger to humans when attempting to separate them.

It doesn’t actually mean a lock jaw but it’s a well used term to describe these animals, I used it because it was easier to type than Brachycephalic(covers most dogs with any bulldog in them, also Pugs too).

Staffordshire bull terriers are normally great with people but bad with other dogs. I can’t agree they make good family dogs as they can cause conflict With other dogs. I believe the majority of dogs with the same jaw type as a Staffordshire bull terrier to XL bully should be at the minimum leashed in public. Yes labradors can bite, as all dogs bite but the potential damage that these lock jaw dogs can do is not worth the risk in public.

Of course that caveat(current actions of Israel) applies which I didn’t think needed mentioning but Zionism started out as the notion of starting a Jewish state because of over a thousand years of persecution, even before the holocaust. History tells us the Jewish people need a safe place to live but you’re right that it should not mean to the expense of others. Nonetheless if we are asking the wider question as an idea, a theory, then I don’t see an issue with Zionism. However, I don’t see the point in debating this, as it doesn’t offer the solution currently to ensuring safety to Palestinians and Israelis currently, which is most important.
