  1. Can I please ask why you think this is embarrassing ? We show no improvement, concede lots of goals since Puel has come in, we have a very talented squad and with a decent manager we would be challenging for top 7 certainly with a team showing pride to play for us, instead of what we have seen since christmas.
  2. Sorry i have to disagree, with your comment this is the first game. Palace away last year I am pretty sure was 5 goals as well, plus others where we have been woeful. I do not get we have Puel so this is what we are doing. Diego would be a dream appointment. Without meaning to be rude, can I ask what you see in Puel and why you want him to stay? I really see nothing positive in him as our coach, all a personal opinion of course.
  3. Can I ask why you think this is stupid? Puel took over, we played wonderful for a month or so and then we have been stale. He has spent 1OOmillion on players and we look no better at all than his first few games. Possession is brilliant, but if you don't do anything with it then it is pointless. Yes we hit the post if you want to say created chances but we concede so many goals and always look vulnerable at the back. We won a league title with least possession if you need evidence. I can not see any players getting better with Puel as a manager. Maddison was playing very well at Norwich, Chilwell is still good going forward but can not defend. Ndidi, I did think he was brilliant when he first arrived but again he sees the game pretty much pass him by. I would like a manager who can motivate and inspire the team and fans. I was lucky enough when i was growing up the first manager I really remember was Martin O'Neil, so I might be biased with my view in wanting a manager who motivates and is on the touchline assisting his players. [No i am not asking for him back now, but a manager in that manner / outlook]. We all support Leicester and it is fine to have a different opinion to the fan sitting next to me at the games. We are not all going to think the same. I think we have a hugely talented team easily capable of finishing 8-1Oth. I understand we will lose games as we have a young team so please do not think my view is based on today alone.
  4. Agreed, they play to his strengths and it works. Rondon was available and surely a better option for you ?
  5. Mitrovic ? Doing a superb job for Fulham.
  6. That is true. I probably am in a different view with the opinions that Scholes could tackle. I always felt he knew what he was doing and hit the player when he wanted to set a marker down etc. Either way a travesty he was moved out to left mid to accommodate others and we did not play a 3 man central midfield.
  7. Not even comparable is it. Scholes is known for his football / Pogba for his hairstyles. Pogba could be great if he had a decent manager who allows players to express themseveles. But Scholes was the best cm in the premier league.
  8. why clearly not? We played well in about 3 games since New Years. 1Oth place and 8th mean very little. Why play a player who wants to go, surely better to develop someone who would be here for the next season.
  9. Is that not a problem with football now? Riyad clearly wanted to leave and we have 3 young players who need game time to see if they are good enough. Riyad was not a long term plan anymore, gray, Barnes and diabate are. We would have finished at best 7th and lowest 1Oth. Should have played a team in prep for this season. As it is Gray seems to be doing well now. Mahrez will go down as one of our best ever players, rightfully so.
  10. Could be perceived that way! It was certainly beneficial to both leicester and to Riyad. Without him we would not have won the premiership and without us he would not be where he is today. Yes he acted immature when trying to move, and he is on a lot of money but which footballers are not.. The only problem with the Riyad situation is we didn't play Gray / Diabate from christmas for the rest of the season. Clearly Riyad wanted out and was leaving in the summer, we should have played the youngsters and gave them a chance.
  11. Can't blame Riyad for wanting to leave, he won us the champ and the prem!! He wanted to leave to win trophies, and yes probably got a pay rise too. Mahrez had an enormous part to play in our clubs greatest ever achievements, and entertained us along the way. We have moved on and will remain a premiership club, we made 59 million on him and memories which will last our lifetime. Sorry to hear your depression! It is a horrible experience, hope all is well now.
  12. Redmond always looks dangerous, but thankfully Hughes has no idea how to play to his teams strengths. Ings will need to be watched as he is back amongst the goals. Their defence will always concede, but all depends how Kelechi and Maddison link up. Puel will want to do well and we should see our players have more freedom and play exciting football. Need a good performance from Gray but I think we will get the win 2-1.
  13. You are correct Wolves had a lot of possession, but as you will find possession means nothing unless you are Man City. We had more against United and played well, but lost. Yesterday, we didn't get out of second gear because didn't need to. Neves will be class, he is a great player to watch and Traore will be direct and exciting to watch but as always needs to work on end product, and more importantly you need more players in the box. Yes you can call it lucky for both our goals. But if you want to talk about "luck", why was Doherty facing his own goal when heading the ball, body position all wrong, and for the second goal your captain turned his back so the ball spun in off him. If he stood firm and took the shot he would have blocked it! for the team. It was not a powerful shot. That is not luck, but poor defending. Wolves will sit comfortably in mid table and it is nice to see a side try and play football instead of long ball. We were poor, but we have a very young side with a lot of potential England players with Chilwell, Maddison and Gray which is good to see, plus Maguire for now! We will play far better in the coming weeks and will no doubt lose, and you will play a lot worse and get a win. Football ..
  14. The defender actually bottled the tackle and did nothing but stand still. Thats why he got hurt. Vardy as ever was full blooded in his tackle, and I would not want him to change. This time, in todays game it was a red card due to the follow through, even though Vardy clearly won the ball, he caught the player after. Plus side is Kelechi now has 3 games, which is a bonus for him to carry on his good pre season and see how he will do in his preferred position. We have a young team and all looks positive.
  15. Must have been a loan with a guaranteed transfer of 16 million at the end of the season. Makes more sense than a loan fee of 16 million for Drinkwater, surely.
  16. Morgan, Amartey, and Pereira at right wing. Safe to say we didn't spend the Mahrez money strengthening the starting team.
  17. I would agree with most of what you have wrote. I would say that although we have not signed a new striker, Kelechi upfront has had a whole season with us now and looks like a new signing from his form in pre season. Add the new contract to Vards we look strong up front too. Slimani and Ulloa to go, saves wage bill and offloads 2 players who would not get a game. I do agree on pound shop mahrez. 352 formation would be great too, but Puel seems to like Diabate which would lead to playing wingers in a 4411.
  18. HKFox

    Ahmed Musa

In that order. Add one of James or King. Nothing against both of them but we do not need so many central midfielders and one can go if we can get any fee for them.
  19. Certainly in the bracket 70 million plus. An awful lot of money, but considering VVD went to Liverpool for 75, Mcguire will be just as good and has potential to be one of best cbs in the league. We can not afford to lose him this summer. Need to build team with a solid spine and he is key to that.
  20. I don't think we will get relegated once Mahrez is sold. Gray and Diabate have to step up, but we do need a very good number 10. As we need to replace the goals and assists Mahrez brought to our team. I do not quite agree we need to spend as much as possible, as you will know our recent transfer history the more we spend the worse the player tends to be. Musa, Mendy, Slimani. We need players who will be reasonable price but fit in and play for the team, Maguire and Ndidi. We have already spent 20+ mill on a right back who from all reports is decent. Add a decent partner or number 10 for Vardy and we will have another year in the top 10. Ideally pushing for 7th and European football. But with Puel tactics especially in home games of passing the ball side to side and boring the life out of the fans and team I am not sure.
  21. Since christmas it was clear we would finish 7th - 9th no matter how we did. And Puel has put no plans in place at all for the following season. He seems to be going from game to game with no idea in mind of how to play. Mahrez rejoins and starts every game since admitting he wants to leave. Terrible message to the team and players. Clearly not planning for the following season. Gray and Diabate both could be good players, but are constantly subbed off or get limited get time. Why have they not played 10-15 games each constantly. Gray we have had for few seasons now and we are still deciding if he will be good for us. So he should have played every game since christmas in his favourite position to see if he would be a good replacement for Riyad and to see if he is good enough. Chilwell has played often which I do think is a good choice from Puel. However changing the back 4 pretty much every game does not help familiarity amongst the defence. Who is our best RB for next season? Who will start cm, lm, rm or even alongside Vardy. There are so many decisions that need to be made which should have been tested since christmas, and this to me is more alarming. If Puel is a "builder not a fire fighter " ( I think he said ) what has he built. He has not gave players time or a chance to impress with a consistent run and any thought process for next season. His constant picking of Morgan, even though the best run we had under Puel was down to a formidable defence of Dragovic and maguire for a few games on the run. Loans out both of our target men, and then the team decide to cross the ball to Vardy every game as, quite correctly, teams drop of and stop any through balls for Vardy. There is no plan B, I feel quite harsh saying this but I have no idea what Puel does for a plan A either. We have very decent players in my opinion, and they clearly are not motivated by the manager. Let alone I am bored from even a 1 minute post match interview of his. I do get he wants to pass the ball more. Problem is one of our best passers of the ball is Iborra, and he dropped him for half the games as well. I would release him from his contract this weekend, Appleton in charge until end of season. And go for a new gaffer for next season. Silva my choice, but we will all have our own opinions on who we want.
  22. Youtube link. Finds space very well and looks composed on the ball. We might actually score some free kicks if we sign him.
  23. Loftus Cheek is a good player and I think him and Ndidi would be very good for us, if we can get him. Agreed all 3 of those players have not been good. Chilwell has looked a bit lost at times certainly when we are defending. Going forwards he looks reasonable. But he has played in a team which has looked woeful to dull since new year. Let him start next season and he will become good, alongside a consistent back 4. Gary it is hard to impress when you get 60 minutes here, 20 minutes sub appearance there and you constantly play different positions. rw, lm, am, st and even rb. Diabate I think will be a good player. You have a point he might not be ready, this is why i get annoyed looking at our starting teams since new year. Why did Puel not play Gray and Diabate rw and lw for the rest of the season. 15 games plus each to see if they are ready for prem football, get some confidence, and see if they are good enough for us next year.
  24. That is correct, although I do not think we can fault the owners. They have spent good money. just had the misfortune of Rudkin choosing the players. Now we can blame them for not sacking Rudkin of course, but they have spent 150mill plus into players since our title win.
  25. Start with a new manager of Marco Silva. Sell / release end of contract : Hamer (We don't need 3gks), Simpson, Morgan, Benaloune, Huth, King, James, Mendy, Slimani, Ulloa, Mahrez. A lot of players I know but we only play 1 game a week. A huge squad is not needed, rather a consistent team are needed and the wages can be better spent have a stronger smaller squad. Players I would like to sign: Cedric, Stones (in Mahrez swap deal) / Gibson most likely. Maddison (Norwich) Rueben Loftus Cheek, Would leave us - Give the team 15 games to start the season with a set formation and actually give them a chance in there best positions. Schmeichel, Cedric, Stones Maguire Chilwell, Gray, Ndidi, Loftus Cheek, Diabete, Maddison, Vardy A young side with potential and great speed on the counter. With the correct manager I think this team will play attractive football and would compete in every match. Admittedly Stones could be unrealistic, but for financial reasons a swap deal + cash for us could benefit both ourselves and Man City. Loftus Cheek has the potential to dominate games + alongside Ndidi would be formidable in my opinion. With the sales of a larger squad I don't think this would be too much a stretch financially to obtain. Add in a cb on loan and maybe promote one from the U23s if needed as the 4th choice cb. We would have a midfield of Silva + Iborra as back up so that is good cover there. Leaves us Okazaki and Kelechi Ineacho as striker alternatives. And Marc Albrighton and Harvey Barnes as alternatives on the wing.
