If you're good enough then you absolutely can play and be part of the first team but other than Yamal, I'm struggling to think of any 16 year olds that have played 30+ league games in a season, never mind 40+.
-
It won't. The sections of the fanbase that are already raging with how the club is run have made their feelings known. The rest of them won't change their minds even if we put Ronald Mcdonald in charge. They just don't care enough, and just turn up to watch the match regardless of who the manager is, who the players are, what league we are in, how the club is being run etc. Some kind of blind loyalty to LCFC as they can't see that LCFC isn't LCFC anymore and hasn't been for years. Sad really.

Of course, that's ultimately the point that we can't get it wrong again. We've made 2 poor decisions with our last managers and we just cannot do that again.
-
Would depend on the situation. Has he been backed? Are we competing and just a little unlucky or are we getting slapped every week like last season? It's not as simple as sack a manager if we're near the bottom of the prem, you have to look at the bigger picture but I understand your point that fans get frustrated quickly when things aren't going well but there isn't much can be done about that. My point about the long term is just thinking further forward than 6-12 months, we cannot keep sacking managers like we did last season and the way to do that is by hiring the right manager in the first place, easier said than done I know, but most could see with Cooper for example that it was a bad appointment and would ultimately end badly. None of us have crystal balls and we wouldn't know if any of the 3 mentioned candidates would succeed or fail but people can make their own guesses on that based on what they've seen from these managers previously and how they operate tactically etc.
-
When I say long term, I'm not saying go all Chelsea and give Rohl an 8 year deal but we need to look beyond 6-12 months, we simply can't keep sacking managers like we have last season. If a manager gets poached like Enzo, yes it's frustrating but it means they've done well and we reap financial benefits in compensation. Out of the 3 mentioned, I'd also argue Rohl may be the cheapest wages wise.
-
I think it's a case of we want a long term plan and not to keep sacking managers. Maresca was a long term plan but unfortunately got poached and then Cooper and RVN were both disasters. Whilst Dyche and Wilder may do ok for now, would they be a long term choice for us? Not sure. Rohl is a gamble in many ways but we'd hope that if he hit the ground running like Enzo (and doesn't get poached) that he could be here for a few years. We need to get out of this cycle of sacking coaches, it costs money we just haven't got. That's my opinion anyway.

A 10 generally refers to a player that plays behind the striker like a CAM if you like. -

Do you see Monga as a 10 rather than a winger? -

I'm not judging him off last season as the whole team was wretched. I'm also not judging him off 45 minutes of a pre season friendly. I've also never actually said he's good enough I merely pointed out that he was decent in the championship last time and he won't be going anywhere so he's going to be in our squad this season whether we want him or not. -

We overpaid for Skipp without a doubt but we're stuck with him so we'll have to use him. Anyone thinking that 16 year-old kids can play every week in the championship are in cuckoo land. We need to have some of these lads in the first team squad and be giving them minutes, but they can't and won't play every week. As I said, Skipp was good in the championship for Norwich so there is no reason he can't be for us. -

Winks was brilliant in Enzos system last time we were in the championship but I fear he's a limited player and if our new manager doesn't play a system that suits him then he either won't play or will be shite. Skipp was very good at Norwich a few seasons back. We can't be making judgements on players though after 1 pre season game. -

Mad that the starting 11 today is still better than most of the championship and that's with a fair few players missing. -
We have too many fans that will just accept mediocrity. The "we were in league one once" and "be careful what you wish for" types. Some still have this blind faith to Top and won't hear a bad word about him. Ultimately, alot of these people don't know very much about football beyond buying a ticket, and banging a clapper and accepting a free donut every once in a while. Happy to be here day trippers that have little interest in what league we are in, how the club is run, who the players/manager are etc.

Justice for Smithies! Gerrrimin! -
First song back and it's a song by a pedo 🤣
-
Pointless loaning him out to sit on their bench, unless they are planning on buying him
-
Absolutely heartbreaking 💔. Like others have said, it's puts things into perspective. Him having 3 young kids makes it even more terrible and I'll be giving my 2 kids a big cuddle when I pick them up from school.

It's not irrelevant when the club has been struggling to meet psr requirements. Every penny profit counts. Plus you could say that 99% of the things that get discussed on here are irrelevant. Guessing who our new manager will be, guessing who we'll sign, etc etc. It's kind of the whole point of a football forum. People discuss things about football.

That's 2 more books than he's ever given fcks to be fair!.
-
71 pages of nothing. Will be another 29 pages at least before anything is announced.
-
Anyone have a rough guess what his book value is? What kind of money would we need to make a profit? Edit: I reckon it's around £3m left to pay on him if his fee was spread over the 5 year contract
-
Little bit of sick in my mouth even thinking about that
-
@moore_94 please don't do this to me! Saw the thread and thought ah shit, he's going or he's injured again. He's one of very few shining lights in the big massive turd that is LCFC at the moment!
-
Yep and in the unlikely event that 2 of the 3 keepers are out, we could put a youth keeper on the bench. No team needs 4 keepers! Other than the big sales like Mahrez, Maguire etc, we do have an awful record when it comes to selling average/poor players. We just seem happy to let everyone leave on a free and alot of this comes down to the obscene wages some of them are on!
