Yep but its a ridiculous thing to do. These players aren't miraculously going to start turning in performances after years of shite. Even if we loan them out and have to pay half their wages would be a better option. Of course im not privy to our financials but I just dont see any benefit in playing these wasters

I hear what you're saying and I think this is inevitable because of where we are and bad we've been now for so long. I think most can accept mistakes or a bad performance or bad result but a blatant lack of effort or care that weve seen so often from so many of our players has resulted in this complete toxicity around the club. You're right though, everyone needs to get behind the team but personally I think that would be easier without the likes of Mav and Faes playing. If we cant shift them this window, they need removing from the squad completely in my opinion. The damage of having them in and around the squad outweighs the financial loss we will ultimately make on them in my opinion. I feel as though Martin's comments the other day were a dig at certain players when he was talking about Chaplin and Burns wanting to be here.

This is where a pragmatic manager would employ tactics that suit the players at his disposal. I think the opposite. Too many of these over paid wasters have had it too easy for too long! The should be absolutely hounded. Mavididi and Faes in particular are an absolute disgrace and should never wear our shirt again. Im not fussed about Thomas, he has limited ability but at least he gives his all which cannot be said for the other 2 mentioned. Hamza doesn't deserve the wage he gets but thats not his fault and we all know who is to blame for the obscene contracts given out.

I dont understand People on here that get mad about other People having an opinion, especially if its a negative one. Its a fans forum, its exactly the purpose of this place, for people to vent and have opinions on all things LCFC. Slating the performance yesterday is absolutely fine, as many fans are rightly worried about how we are looking going into a new season. Its also fine for people to find positives in yesterdays performance, its all about opinions. Far too much holier than thou and getting up on high horses crap on here recently.

Kent is predominantly a winger and hasn't scored a goal since he left Rangers 3 years ago. Forss has a terrible scoring record and only scored 2 in this league last season. Teuchert also has a pretty poor scoring record. But to be fair, Adebayo's record isnt amazing. There's a reason why these are all still free transfers

I think most are agreed that we have to get promoted this season, no questions asked. Some may say results over performances are key. However for me, the club really needs to get the fans back on side and quickly. Winning games of course helps. But if we were to win our opening 3 games, 1-0 and play like we did today, that to me, will not win the fans over. Most want to be entertained. We understand the level we are at but we should be not be accepting of piss poor performances at this level. Last time we were in this league we absolute smashed it under Pearson and thats what the expectation should be this season. We are in a very different situation to the Pearson era but there can still be no excuses for any form of failure this season in either results of performances. Im not expecting to win 5-0 every week, but i expect some level of entertainment. My two young lads aged 5 and 8 are getting into football now and im going to be taking them to their first games this season, and I genuinely fear for them and all youngsters wanting to start watching LCFC, that they will quickly lose interest with how boring our games are potentially going to be. My 8 year old after 20 mins today said "daddy im bored as they are just passing it around". I get its the first game and I get we need a striker etc, but given Martin's previous record, I have serious concerns about both our results and performances this season.

Fair point. I would say though, that a striker would need service. We barely got near their net all match and were seemingly happy to pass it around the back and middle of the park. A decent striker would hopefully link play a bit but im still concerned that Martin's style of play does not suit our players or our situation.

Come on now, that was a dreadful performance that would have resulted in a defeat against any half decent side. We are very fortunate that Northampton are an incredibly poor side. Im all for the youngsters but I fear they will all be ruined playing Martins horrendous football. No urgency and very little positive play in the final 3rd. Yes we need a striker and yes we need to bin Reid and Mavididi, but that really was a terrible performance.

Russell ball with Okoli and Stolarczyk is going to be utterly heinous to watch this season. Literally every team in league 1 will make the most of these defensive fck ups weve done today and will no doubt continue to do all season, playing this style of football. Rancid

My god this has been a bad watch. Northampton are an uttelry appalling team and we've barely created a chance. I get its only the cup and I get its the first game but its going to be a long, boring season if these are the kind of performances we'll be putting in.

Yeh looks totally disinterested and possibly not even fit. If hes potentially going to be a bad influence on the younger lads, we need him gone asap. As much an many dont like Reid, he does seem like a proper pro who give his all in training and help the younger players.

Ill be honest here and say i dont know a great deal about teams in league 1, but ive seen many people on fb suggesting Luton will win the league. Anyone know if Luton actually have a decent side as they didn't do particularly well last season.
