The Netherlands looked much better with Weghorst on the pitch instead of Memphis…
-
Anyone on that leaderboard still had to get through the gauntlet of days 1-3 to even be in position today. Luckily the players and the fans at Troon this weekend don’t have time for those sort of takes and respected the great golf and grit shown by so much of the players from around the world.

Best Major of the year for me. It’s going to be a lonnnnnng wait for The Masters.

You must have missed Schauffele, Horschel and Henley finishing 1st, T-2 and 5th at Troon. It was an outstanding tournament, you should check out the highlights.

Sold me. GERRIMIN!
-
Yeah, he’s likely the closest of the bunch but I’m sure he’s even off by a bit.
-
Or Nico Schira. I have no idea how that guy amassed such a big following.

None of the reported bids are ever correct from any source.

He is great for such a high-energy Colombia side. After watching plenty of him at Palmeiras and for Colombia, I still have no idea if he’ll work out for us. He’s a different player and raises his level for Colombia— he and his teammates turn into total beasts when they wear the national team shirt. Colombians adore the guy and he’d be one of our most intriguing signings. I’m all for it if we can get anything close to what he brings to Los Cafeteros.

Soulé has Italian heritage and holds an Italian passport, it’s natural that he prefers to stay in the country and see if Roma can arrange a fee. That doesn’t mean he wouldn’t still come to Leicester and perform for us. That said, the deal does look unlikely at this point. Roma will return with another offer.

When the roles were reversed, we swooped in for Daka when Liverpool dragged their feet— we have to be aware that the same could happen to us. TBF, Juventus had 13 players in the Euros and Copa America so they may not have been in such a rush to sell players.

As a New Yorker, I can’t like this post enough.

Everyone I know who went to Korea and Japan in 2002 had an amazing time.

More from the Milan fans: he always gives you 110% and is a great teammate. Role player. Every now and then he gives you some magic like this:
-
I’m struggling to remember much about him from his Milan games but the Milan fans I know love his attitude and think he’s very skillful. They say he lacks a bit of strength that could take him to the next level.

Agree with you on that. At least there will be beer.

Yes, many of the tickets were overpriced but most of those astronomical sale prices were quoted from resellers, I know plenty of people who were able to go without any problems. I’ve been to hundreds of games in the States and have never had a stadium counter ask me for a tip so I don’t know what to tell you there. Maybe think of it as a convenience fee to allow you to actually take a beer to your seat. Life is better when you see your cup as half full (that’ll be $7 plus gratuity, cheers). I’ve also gotten free beers and drinks held aside after last call from stadium vendors to whom I’ve tipped a few bucks— and now a $14 beer becomes a $7 beer. Magic. The States hosted Copa America in 2016 and it went fine. The 1994 World Cup also happened here and football didn’t burn down, trust me (understandable why some on here may not know that actually happened 😉). It won’t be a perfect World Cup, I’m sure there will be plenty of issues, but a country with giant communities from football-loving nations all over the world might not bungle this as badly as you think. The days of £10 tickets and £2 beers at World Cups are long gone. And we’ve just had Russia and Qatar host the tournament, for Fuchs sake, let’s try to enjoy what we can in 2026 and 2030 before the tournament goes to Saudi Arabia.

We’ll manage just fine without you and without CONMEBOL (if only you bothered to learn anything about how this particular tournament was run). There also wasn’t a single shooting incident related to the tournament but, whatever, you had something you felt like saying no matter what actually occurred. Bravo.

Some of these players may have been discussed with Maresca and Cooper agrees that they’re good targets. We’ve also had a history of shopping in Italy, well before Maresca arrived: Castagne, Ünder, Praet, Inler, Benalouane, Cambiasso (not sure if he counts but he had just finished his contract in Italy before we signed him).

Well played, KP. We can’t get relegated if there’s “no reason to lose.”

CONMEBOL is running this tournament in the U.S., the 2026 World Cup will be a different story. CONMEBOL is the same confederation that had to move the 2nd leg of a Copa Libertadores final to the other side of the Atlantic because they couldn’t get their sh*t together. This tournament was held in the States in 2016 and went just fine. The 1994 WC was fine. There were issues at the 2021 Euros Final and the 2022 Champions League Final; tonight was nothing new to the world of football. It won’t be perfect but the United States has more experience hosting major sporting tournaments and events than most countries in the world.

Still a great day out with @Chocolate Teapot 😂

Claude Puel benched Vardy and played Shinji Okazaki as a false 9 against Brighton. Burned into my mind after flying in from NYC and dealing with rail replacement on top of that normally annoying trip to the AMEX. 😂
