There never was a plan to replace him hence the mess we’re in now scrabbling around for a “profile” manager that aligns to Top’s top six vision. He needs to bite the bullet and get a championship manager type who can pull this lot out of the fire. Rudkin and Top’s default option was Andy King till the end of the season after which they could “relaunch” their promotion bid for 26/27 season. Problem is: 1. They haven’t told Kingy 2. They’ll be launching a promotion campaign from Div 1.

I doubt it this week The longer this goes the more applications are getting withdrawn. It’s like a neighbour who’s left her crying baby with you for half an hour while she goes to the shops and she never comes back! I’m pretty confident that Top or King Power or whoever is making these decisions knew it was going to be left to Andy King until the end of the season cos they wouldn’t want another contracted coacd and they never expected a relegation battle. Don’t be surprised if they appoint Rudkin to the end of the season now.

We thought it was left back and a striker but having watched us in the last 3 games it’s actually every single position. Jacob needs dropping as he’s turned into wet paper and a Ming Vase of a keeper. Also both full backs needed to support Aluko. A centre back alongside Nelson, a box to box mid, our wide men are more hit than cold and 2 strikers.

I’m looking forward to some away trips to Bromley, Cambridge and Salford. Oh my God how far will we sink ?
