  1. Yay . Anyway, back to how s**t we are….
  2. “Thomas looks uncertain” as opposed to what, a rock solid assured Luke Thomas
  3. Will Mavididi show any belief that he can beat his full back or will we get last seasons tepid version who just plays safe / goes AWOL and occasionally cuts across the box and curls a shot yards over the bar? Needs to fancy it and believe in himself, hopefully Martin has higher standards than giving out a free pass to do nothing and still get selected for the next game. And Thomas? What minute will be the goal gifting error, come in, I’m going for 37th? Best wishes to Alves and co, the breath of fresh air we need.
  4. Lucky we won’t be subbing off Ayew this season, more like 70 seconds like an anaesthetised tortoise.
  5. Build the statue! Didn’t he win our ironic “Player Of The Season” ? In our situation, last season and this, I’d go with an Academy product as 3rd choice. It’s like any insurance policy, you resent the outlay but are glad you committed to it when the time comes to benefit from it. We were short in so many areas last season, the chance of two keepers being injured at the same time was way way down the list of problems. I would have gambled and saved the wage, with things so tight it wouldn’t tip the scales but would help. Similarly give Evans or Hutchinson every minute given to Carranza and Richards, it wouldn’t have affected results one bit.
  6. An interesting one with the scheduling, previous years it comes between early season league games and you typically play a changed line up. With this being the first game there’s no established line up to change. What I’d like to see is where possible the youngsters preferred to the seniors (what are we going to learn about Skipp, Reid, Faes , Choudhury and Mavididi that we don’t already know). Then if it goes well let them keep their place, prove to them that the pathway is clear. Some of the new signings may need the chance to build relationships and gel into the team but as for the bunch who let everyone down so badly, they should be at the back of the queue for a starting place. Just maybe don’t read too much into the line up, it could still be an extension of pre-season getting minutes in, a half and half or 2nd 11 team or with injuries and different states of readiness just the best available on the day?
  7. The muppet show AKA Sky Sports News currently discussing Forest only bringing in 2 loans so far. Between the 3 “Experts” not one grasped the key point - they’re not in Europe this season. The squad is bloated, built around having additional games and probably budgeted that way too. Sound familiar? Even with Anderson’s huge fee they have adjustments to make to fit their new reality. They will spend knowing Jabbarakis and it’s likely selling clubs are taking the P knowing they have that money coming in but unlike Man Utd & Chelsea who manage Europe free years without imploding Forest would be unwise not to resize accordingly.
  8. A false 9? Well, he’s been a false 7,10 & 11 for us already .
  9. "There's a new lady supervising the concourse catering for this friendly with the Italian club" "Genoa" "Yeah, she's a mate of my sister"
  10. When the Millwall supporters club have a quiz night they give a point for getting your name right at the top of the answer sheet
  11. "No, No, NO Ruuuudkin! I said the squad really needs CULLING you fool" !!!
  12. Is there a suspicious looking chap with a Southampton accent filming it on his phone in case we get drawn in the cup together
  13. David Attenborough and Chris Packham (and some guy from Southampton) are often seen outside Seagrave with binoculars and cameras hoping to complete their spotters badge by getting a lesser spotted Golding crossed off their lists.
  14. As I was born in ‘72, my first awareness of football was in the playground at infant School in Cambridgeshire. Everyone wanted to “be” Keegan apart from one gobby lad who wanted to be Emlyn Hughes and another who was Terry McDermott. I became a Steve Heighway fetching the goal kicks and fizzing in crosses for the 45 Keegans waiting in the box. It was the best Football sticker, I bought the lettraset transfers where you recreate his best goals on the blank goalmouth sheet of card. I don’t think we understood transfers at that age but his Hamburg days bar the Forest final meant you saw less of him for a while, just England games. Then back in England at Southampton, by then I was in Leicester we drew them in the F.A. Cup, I finally got to see him. My dad kept pointing out World Cup winner Alan Ball but I was just fixed on Keegan. Then that era at Newcastle with McDermott, young Beardsley and Waddle, huge interest and momentum. His sides as a manager open and attractive. If only we had won the World Cup, he would have loved that, loved it ❤️ RIP
  15. I’m going to need to get an extension built just for the wall-chart ! The draw will need to take place over a weekend with sleep breaks and an entire morning listing the permutations and caveats before it can start.
  16. OK you’ve got a few fireworks but you haven’t got those flame throwers that take your eyebrows off or the owner firing t-shirts from a cannon to bemused kids who just chuck them back. Or a 7 foot fox scaring the s**t out of toddlers and drunkards. Tin pot stadium. Bet they don’t even sell Chang or cheesy Sausage Rolls!
  17. Thought Trump was going to go all John Terry, rip off his suit and reveal a Spain kit before joining all the celebration photo’s.
  18. I’d forgotten all about that, it really was a classic WTF moment
  19. Come on, I think we’re on, they said there’s a couple of old Muppets presenting the trophy !
  20. Oh probably yes, tbh I hadn’t looked at where it was, presumed it was Europe’s turn.
  21. Hey Argentina, message from Jim Bowen (and rest of world)
  22. Is there any chance that without Messi and some of this ageing squad they fail to qualify next time. Please. Make Paraguay look like bastion's of fair play
  23. Even though justice has been served result wise there has to be a full on review of this. There won’t be but should be. If the ref uses his card in first 25 minutes it’s a different game. Ruined as a spectacle for those in the stadium, millions around the world, kids turned off football and heading to console games, basketball anything but boring football. Well done Infantiletino you got your Argentina Final, care to watch a replay with me and pick the (bruised) bones out of it. Absolute disaster, all the clues were there when there were no early cards in our game with the cheats. But yay we saw Messi, all worth it then, well done
  24. Come on Editor, forget the panel show the salty tears of those missing links between cavemen and humanity, yes I mean the Argentinian women in the crowd
