  1. I’m bracing myself for a no-game on Saturday. Make sure you all keep an eye on that before hitting the road. I wish everyone a speedy recovery.
  2. So Nigel keeps us up, we appoint Ranieri in the summer and then we win the league, right?
  3. “LeIcEsTeR wInNiNg ThE LeAgUe wAs A fLuKe!!!1!” Seriously, though; legit win. Lost to a better side, particularly in the second half. You should have had a penalty in the first. Can we be saved? Whoever gets the job has their work cut out.
  4. Who do I triple-captain? Vardy or Maddison?
  5. In a season that’s not going quite how I wanted, I took comfort in our vague relevance by having the heaviest defeat so far this season, and now we don’t even have that. Fuming.
  6. I think Leicester are up there. While winning the Premier League was a great achievement, I think Leicester have the environment (large stadium, resources, sole football club in one of the top ten biggest cities in the UK) to be a top side in their own right. All I ask is you save finishing seventh for next season when we’re not after it ourselves - hah. But seriously, in a league with a ‘big 6’, it’s amazing how many clubs’ minds are opening to the prospect of being the next club along from that.
  7. Yes! What a lovely gesture on your part, too. The bottom line is that we are all human beings with real lives, and compassion always wins when we all pull together.
  8. Well played, chaps. Picked us apart. We were rubbish.
  9. We were rooting for you when you took the league by storm, and we’re rooting for you again here. I’m planning on attending the game in question; it will be great to see the banner, too.
  10. I always love his work, and even as a supporter of another team, I find this incredibly moving. What a good thing you guys had going; I have no problem admitting yours is a special, perhaps beautiful, club.
  11. Very upsetting news. Sending love to you guys.
  12. While I would love us to ‘do a you’, I think that the ‘usual suspects’ have strengthened over the last couple of seasons; remember, Liverpool and Chelsea have the same points as us! They are going to be huge hurdles both home and away, and Man City must be considered. I don’t consider Arsenal and United as threatening as they were, say, ten years ago, and Tottenham was the team we had the worst record against in the past decade, and that win tells us that we can take on anyone. All considered, I don’t expect us to win the thing, but could we nick seventh? I wouldn’t rule it out. I definitely think we can get a top-half spot if we maintain consistency, which is the one thing we need to crack. We’ve got the quality and togetherness, I just hope the focus remains. Also, you guys must love how it’s known as ‘doing a Leicester’. That’s one hell of a legacy, especially for something that involved sticking two fingers up at the self-entitled establishment. We were loving it over on our forum.
  13. See you guys on the 1st December! (Sorry about the intrusion, but the Watford forum is currently spilling over with cheese jokes and puns, so I've just popped over here until it blows over. Hope you're well.)
  14. We had this a lot as well. A lot of Everton fans said things like "you'll just sack him in the summer anyway so we'll pick him up for free!". Be that as it may, there are two things here that I am happy with: one is that we told the bigger club to shove it, and the other, perhaps more facetiously, is that Everton fans appear to self-admittedly become the 'Watford Rejects'. I don't mind if he does go there (it would also say a lot about Everton if they were to sack Allardyce this soon into his contract), but the fact remains that the bigger club took on the smaller club and lost. One thing I've found is that players or managers who push for moves will generally do so wherever they are. Silva would have pushed for a move from Everton had a bigger-still club come calling.
  15. Sometimes the player is more valuable than the money. Would you have been able to bring in another Mahrez in that short time? And I mean for immediate deployment, not one who would grow into the role in a few years’ time. It’s actually quite funny, because we had people in the media and on Twitter saying not only that we’re a disgrace for sacking Silva, but that we’re also a disgrace for standing in his way and not letting him progress his career! One person even lambasted us for not adhering to the ‘pecking order’ of the Premier League. If that’s the case, then I for one couldn’t be happier. But then again, you guys know all about sticking it to the establishment!
  16. Hi guys, This thing is quite similar to us with Marco Silva. I think ‘disillusioned’ is how we would describe him after we rejected Everton’s approach(es) for his services. Now that I’ve read reports of Mahrez missing training despite knowing where his future lies for the remainder of the season at least, I can see a lot of similarities. Silva wasn’t turning up for training by the end of it, either. Whether it it is Watford or Leicester, there’s this old saying in football, which is ‘play to the whistle’. Until it is confirmed otherwise, this is the club you are contracted to. You can either be a professional and crack on with the job at hand, or you can down tools in the hope of making a point. In Mahrez’ case, I hope it’s the former. It’s probably more risky for a player to get a good move after a period of no games than a manager. Just relating this instance to some experiences of our own. Anyway, carry on.
  17. It *was* me who said it last time. Only this time, I mean it.
  18. Just stopping by to congratulate you on tomorrow's win! The better team won! Seriously, guys. We're horrific. Sock it to us.
  19. Just popping by to congratulate you on this afternoon’s win. The better team won!
  20. That's what I said! You'd have loved it. Knockaert did nothing wrong at all yesterday, but our fans booing him fired him up. He was desperate for a goal and putting himself about way more than any of their other players. That's actually quite worrying for Brighton; he's not going to be that fired-up every week, and Brighton had nothing when he was subbed-off. The problem is that our fans who gave him grief would probably throw a wobbly if he scored and celebrated in front of them. There'd be calls to ban him left, right and centre. As you said, melts.
  21. It's because he's ginger, I reckon.
