So walking back home and in the pub after. Their fans were saying were by far the best they’ve seen at ER this season. Wouldn’t be a good trip back after controlling a game until the last 10 mins. Away end was good. Got the usual ribbing as per, especially as we were in control for the best part and they nicked it. Best way to win, worst way to lose.

I don’t think it’s that, genuinely don’t see much arrogance at all. You get the real fans who are sound. Then the divs down the pub who’ve never been to ER and talk rubbish 24/7. The ones who talk rubbish are generally losers who I wouldn’t pay much notice to on any topic. Leeds fans on Twitter, now that’s a different kettle of fish. Thankfully we’ve not been in their conversation for the past decade until now.

Tell me about it

Applying for say, 100 jobs is inevitably going to lead to a high amount of rejections. A great candidate for one role will be an unsuitable for another 20. Tailoring a CV for each role or at least to each sector is essential. I left my job of 14 years (first job) and have changed 3 times since. Always feels far easier to find a new job while you’re employed. It does help I work in a sector that is massively understaffed and you don’t have to be that good (too many niches to be an expert in more than a few) to land a job that pays well.

Let’s get the Leeds game out of the way. If we lose, then we can start to worry. Leeds beating us is far from a given, which seems to be the consensus on here. They’re good, but let’s not forget we’re pretty good too. I think it’ll be a complete lottery, they could score a few, but they’ll leave plenty of space for us to exploit.

I understand the benefits of using inverted wingers. However, if you’re going to insist on clipping crosses into the back post, playing them on the side of their favoured foot gives the strikers (and back post runners) a much better chance to get a head on it. Genuinely baffling. Unless, Enzo would rather gamble on the lower percentage of a winner and have the ball go out than a defender win it.
