Worked tbf. In fairness though, Ireland are a long way ahead of the rest of the Lions nations. It should be pretty much Ireland and Friends.

So this is what it feels like to be Scottish

Last time we packed the squad with cheap United youngsters we ended up with Drinkwater, De Laet, James and Co and it turned out alright.

I think people appreciate most of these things about his age and under normal circumstances I don't think anyone would be desperate to see a 15 year old play. But it's a reflection on two things, isn't it? Firstly, how bad the alternatives in BDR and Ayew have to be for everyone to be pinning their hopes on Monga. Secondly, how atrocious the governance of the sport is that we think unless we grovel to this shis 15 year old and impress him with Premier League minutes now, he's going to immediately be poached by a bigger club for free. It's been a shit few years. People just want something to be excited about really.

We're all just going round on a merry-go-round aren't we? Arguably Everton before us, despite not reaching the same heights, Villa after, at the risk of going full @Bilo, it'll inevitably be Forest next. It just isn't sustainable. The rules are specifically written to stop mid-sized clubs cracking the top six consistently. You spend, you have your moment there, then you have to sell. I do feel like amortisation has been something of a trap for clubs. You see it even in the mentality of fans on here, how often do you hear (and even I've said this) "oh, we sold a player for 4m profit, we can spend 20m now." When you stop and think about it, that's really, really stupid. It's extreme short-termism, all that money has to be paid at some point. Not to mention the ballooning wage bills that come with it.

We're all Inter aren't we

Graham Potter is an ex Chelsea manager who plays football the way Top thinks you're supposed to because Pep's Barca did.
-
I'm starting to think that's more and more the case, yeah. I used to think he was a bit more of an absentee landlord, in the wake of his father's death and then covid troubling their business at home it felt like he was this distant figure with his name on the deed. Does feel increasingly his vision for what he wants out of the club has to big an impact and a lot of what he wants is deeply rooted in his own nostalgia.
-
Not sure why people keep bringing up Cleverley. I'll be absolutely amazed if Top agrees to go for anyone that's just been sacked by a Championship club perceived to be "small" to us. This is the man that's just hired a completely unqualified Ruud Van Nistelrooy because he's a famous name from Top's youth as a watching fan.
-
So what you're saying is, we need more of exactly what has ruined the club? Cool. Great. Yeah.

Flekken is 31. Hermansen is just starting his career and obviously has a much higher ceiling.
-
I assume they'll both go. I guarantee Bilal's agent has leaked to Tav that nugget about him having a relegation release clause. We'll sell them both for about a combined 50 which will be something like 30m in profit in year.

The Best And Worst Goalkeepers We've Had.

What -
If he'd had a full season the way it started, we'd be looking at 30-40m and some of the biggest clubs in Europe having a look. Given his injury and subsequent struggle to come back to form afterwards, plus our relegation and everyone knowing the state of our finances, 25m to a mid table team is probably about right. I can see this sort of move happening. Still bags us a 20m overall profit and more than that in-year after amortisation. Won't be the first, after Barnes and Maddison, to go well below their value because of our situation.
-
If a 20 year old, with his whole career in front of him, in his first Premier League season, can't single handedly beat a team pushing Champions League qualification, whilst playing for a side already relegated, he's not worth 25m? Some of you.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

The article also openly says that nobody has a clue, including Ruud himself, because the board are keeping everyone in the dark. It just says he'd LIKE to stay and what choice does he have? He's absolutely decimated his reputation, he looks a complete fraud. Any good will he got out of one season at PSV has gone. He's been shown up by Steve ****ing Cooper. His best chance of recovering his reputation is getting us back up again with a squad he likes and be knows we're due a rebuild. Personally I don't want him anywhere near it. That shit in the Tanner article about "the fast attacking, high pressing style he wants to play" is absolute fiction. Ruud is a fan of the mid-block, the most passive, awful defensive model in football and the complete antithesis of whatever spirit of Leicester there is. -
That's something very different though isn't it. You could name loads of clubs with really vile fan bases for political or violent reasons. The vast majority of Madrid fans are apolitical, the vast majority aren't even Spanish, they have a massive online presence (obviously) from all over the world and they're generally some of the biggest tool bags in social media spaces. Sincerely make the average Liverpool fan look sane.

I'll give you that tbf

Timmy Chestnuts was absolute horrendous cringe. Vesty is just shortening a fairly long surname, particularly if you're typing on a phone. I don't particularly have any issue with that. The Leicester dialect is spectacularly lazy, so everything generally gets shortened to hell (hence chissits.)
-
I think I'm turning in to Ric. I literally had a dream last night where Evans and Monga had signed contracts.
-
They're honestly the most pathetic fanbase in football.
-
It wouldn't surprise me if he has a release clause roughly that for relegation. He obviously won't want to play second tier football.

Why has this thread gone hot with people wetting the bed about RVN staying? Has anything actually happened or been said?
