He was a lot better than Ndidi. Ndidi gets away with it because on paper his stats are ok. Reality is Bouba is a better footballer than him. Their positions should have been reversed today
-
I was willing to give him a chance. He’s had a transfer window (in which he was backed) and now 11 league games. The reality is he is not good enough. He cannot get it right tactically (either from the start or mid-game) and our teams lack the intensity or belief to win football matches. We have been very fortunate to have the majority of the points we have. We have some decent players and with a few additions alongside a change in the dugout we have a good chance of staying up. We need to make the change though as with him we go down.
-
Don’t know but won’t be with us next season. Anyone who signs a contract with a low release clause has one thing in mind. Got a feeling we’ve helped each other out to assist with PSR
-
If we stay up, we’ll resign him on loan when Wilf is sold
-
That Georgian lad for Watford looks mustard. We should keep tabs on him….

I would play 3 in the middle with Buenanotte and Ayew inverting from wide areas. Our chances will come from outnumbering them in the middle of the pitch and running at their centre backs Leave winks and Ndidi in front of back 4 and let other midfielder (Soumare) with our front 3 go at them in transition
-
If we had sacked BR in early Jan and made better signings in that window we would have stayed up imo
-
Thought the same when watching back, brave decision that paid off!

Watched the penalty decision a few times and the only defence for Fatawu that I have is the Ipswich player jumps into him before the contact. VAR must have decided that it was the Ipswich player who initiated contact -
By far our best player on Wednesday night imo. i don’t think he’s lazy/disinterested, I just think he struggles to pick up the pace of the game when he comes on as a sub. I would be inclined to give him a run of games as a starter to see how he does. Would be a good option in a midfield 3 in tougher games as is a lot more box to box than our other midfielders
-
Ipswich don’t have any right backs available so we have to take advantage and attack down our left. I would go with a back 3 with Fatawu LWB behind Mavididi but can’t see Coops being that cavalier. If VK isn’t fit he’ll go with JJ on the left. Can see the 11 looking like: Mads Ricardo Faes Vestergaard Justin Winks Ndidi Ayew Buenanotte Mavididi Vardy

We’re getting mullered

Looks to me like came off his leg first so would never be given as handball

Ward Justin Coady Okoli Thomas Soumare Skipp El Khannous Ayew Edouard Mcateer

As mentioned in the pre-Forest match thread, it’s clear to me that we need to try a new system in order to remedy our issues in defence and attack. Defensively we are disorganised and easy to get at, in attack we are lacking a threat and whilst we have scored in every game this is purely down to good conversion not due to chance creation. A 3-4-1-2 or 3-4-2-1 system would suit us a lot better in my opinion. Defence needs Vestergaard in it. He has his critics but if our defensive line is right and if he has pace around him he can be an asset both with his defensive work and use of the ball. Kristensen has been our best fullback but still think he is better suited to a wingback role which he excelled in at Bologna and for Denmark. Fatawu can play the right hand side as does good defensive work and I believe attacks better coming from deep. In centre midfield I think Winks and Skipp would be our best duo. Know each others game well and styles compliment each other. In the attacking third I would then go for Buananotte, Ayew and Vardy with the flexibility of being 2 either side of Vardy or Ayew joining Vardy as a front two with Buenanotte as a 10. Vardy is the GOAT - there’s no denying that. He’s done well in front of goal this season but clear to see he is isolated and needs support. Ayew hasn’t set the world alight but you know what you’re getting. He works hard, keeps the ball and makes defenders work. Buenanotte is our magician and we need him on the ball, this system does that. This would leave a bench from Ricardo, JJ, Coady, Ndidi, Soumare, Bilal, Mavididi, Daka, Edouard and BDCR. Regardless if you are with me, we should all be unanimous in saying something needs to change. If it is not cooper yet, he needs to be brave enough to try something new.

When you put it like that…..
-
As many have said - we called for Ricardo and Fatawu and they were poor (as were many others) I can only assume that we went to the inverted system to compensate for Ricardo who is either rusty, unable to bomb up and down anymore or both. The players didn’t believe in the manager last night and that came across in the performance and would have contributed to the errors. If VK is injured then in hindsight going to a 3 at the back would have suited us better. Easy to say now, but as many have said already we were bereft of ideas and confidence last night. Thats on Cooper.
-
None of them can play as a conventional left back though. If Kristensen gets injured it’s either Luke Thomas or a right footer there.
-
We already have two premier league loanees so can only get another one in if Edouard or Buenanotte go back to parent club. Can see us going for a left footed defender who can play LB or CB, most likely on a permanent. We could enter the non-PL loan market if the right opportunity comes up.

Watched Forest for first time this season on Monday night. Very impressed with the two centre backs however a very timid palace side had about 20 shots. If Coops is brave and plays 4 out and out attackers we can get at them - especially in the wide areas as their defence and midfield are very narrow. Will be a tough game which we cannot afford to go behind in. Get the 1st goal and it’s there for us on the counter -

They probably looked at the refereeing performances in the games since our court case and thought they’d best even it out in case we sue them -

after the 2nd half yesterday I think a 3-4-1-2 shape has legs. back 3 from JJ, Faes, okoli, vestergaard and coady fatawu/ricardo on the right, Kristensen/Mavididi on the left Two from winks, Ndidi, skipp and Soumare in the middle buananotte or bilal behind front 2. BDCR and Choudhury have versatility to fill in a few positions. Worth a go imo. Against these I would start: Mads Faes Okoli Justin Fatawu Winks Ndidi Kristensen Buananotte Vardy Ayew
