I'll be gutted when he leaves, the one silver lining about him getting his big money dream move is that we finally get to build his statue outside the stadium.

Gymnastics is one of those olympic sports where there are too many events and medals up for grabs, though it's not as bad as swimming. Might be one for the unpopular opinion thread but a double gold in atheltics is worth far more than 4 golds in the above.

Brilliantly controlled, get in Keeley!

Divide and conquer of the working classes is the oldest trick in the book, just find it so sad it's working so well in 2024.

Great race. Lyles is still the Temu version of Bolt.

I can't tell whether posts are getting deleted very quickly or no one is posting because the deletions in the past few days.

Maybe Richardson is more suited to the 200m, more opportunity to recover from being slow out of the blocks

Premier League 24/25 Pre-season guff (misc talking points)

Sacking Poch was idiotic, thought they were looking good for at least a top 4 spot next season considering their form at the end of last season. -
I think we're down. Zero inspirational signings and the premier League will make an example of us in terms of points deductions. Best hope is that a marquee player like Fatawu will have a stormer and get bought for £70m + so we can reinvest wisely.

This guy looks like the Portugal and Italy Euro 96 squads all rolled into one person.

She was an all time Nuts/Zoo legend, probably my favourite of the lot. Then she went on celebrity big brother and had zero personality. -
It will all end in tiers

Watch this reserved opinion on amateur boxing judging

Newcastle have us as a Category A game. -
Never understood the love for decorative knives or swords. The samurai sword on a wall thing doesn't do it for me at all.

The tone and accent of a commentator or co-commentator go a long way in terms of how good they sound and therefore how good you think they are overall. Two big examples are Scottish co commentators sounding good which probably elevates McCoist and, controversially, female Aussie or Kiwis when compared to female UK counterparts. The Olympics rugby 7s comms was the Kiwi Rikki Swannell who sounded brilliant and far better than any female British commentator in football.

GB & NI ahead of USA in the medals table right now, via the proper method not the US method that is basically the Olympics version of using goal difference to determine the table.

I don't think he means any harm, it's making light of a scenario that has significantly become less deadly since 2021.

Nah none of that is stupidity to be fair, sounds like it's a case of you not helping yourself when it comes to acting or speaking your mind. Still though, I'm sure there are a lot of examples when acting out or speaking your mind worked out in your favour.

Just hope Wiffen doesn't get shit from different communities back home. Represents Ireland at the Olympics and Northern Ireland at the commonwealths. We dont have many sporting superstars so its important everyone back home embraces him. Come across as a really likable guy too in interviews.

Loved that medal ceremony. Favourite thing about him is how he looks so unassuming on the podium despite being a champion. Silent assassin esque.

Can't be arsed reading through but I'm guessing this thread is 11 pages of people saying he's shit?
