LCFC 2-0 Bristol City, post-match thread
BoyJones replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Agree about Winks and Mukasa. Feel for Winks because of the bad press he gets, but I do think previous managers treating him badly. For me they had little empathy or understanding for his situation and then were happy to put the team and supporters at a disadvantage for their own agendas. No respect at all for RVN. -
LCFC 2-0 Bristol City, post-match thread
BoyJones replied to Phil Mitchell's topic in Leicester City Forum
Yes agree. Abdul should had a hat trick with two finishes, he hits the target he scores and Mav did his usual only goalie to beat ultra casual effort off the post. Thought the game plan was solid, the players still sometimes have teflon feet, but the effort and application was there. Skipp absolutely superb, though both centre backs did well and Abdul very threatening. The rest all contributed so credit where credit is due, well deserved win, against who imo are nowhere near the worst team to come to us. -
Leicester's 2016 title-winners arrange own reunion after club snub
BoyJones replied to davieG's topic in Leicester City Forum
Tend to agree. A lot of our toxic fans will jump on any decision to suit their agenda of dissing the club. Personally I think Top should have done something, but he would defo have got slagged off by some “fans” for living in the past and not focusing on survival this season. -
Memories of 1970. We were second div, they were first div. Went down on the football special train. Four hour journey. Got there, 1 nil down, but JF got a second half equaliser. Replay, think we were 2-0 down, but Lochhead got a couple and we won 4-2 in extra time. One of the great nights. JF scored again!

Fully agree. Out of his depth at this level. Think he’s been poor all season, you just know he’s got mistakes in him every game and just hope we get away with them without conceding. Obviously the defenders in front of him don’t help as proven today by Okoli, but got their second goal he should have gone through everybody to get that ball; in my opinion lacks the courage and ability to read the game to be a decent keeper. Probably too nice.

Fully agree. This is a tough league and no team is on top all game. Two years ago we had plenty of rubbish moments and dodgy periods even when we won 13 out of the first 14. Today was a great performance for a variety of reasons; showed real talent, game plan, pace, ruthlessness, fighting qualities, togetherness, defensive strength and managed the game out really well. Credit where credit is due, well played the manager of all the team and substitutes. Let’s hope this performance and result kick starts our season!

It’s always just been a ploy by the complainers to get rid of us older fans who they say don’t cheers loudly enough at away games and are seen as not needed or wanted. I’m 73, following the lads since 62/63; been a season ticket holder on and off since 1970, mostly on and definitely all this century. I used to go to 90% of away games, last couple of years maybe 60%. Mainly due to not going to the 150 mile plus away matches as can be tiring travelling and more disappointingly the away support can turn toxic more quickly these days. I’ve obviously got well over 700 points, but with over 150 away matches over the last 10 years am not happy that the younger “fans” want me to lose a priority I’ve built up over the years. Whatever system is brought in, people will still complain; I think the current system is ok - there’s a lot of natural wastage and currently some away matches go through to new season ticket holders / members. Look at Huddersfield away, spaces around us that night - why? Anyway, I expect the system to change to disadvantage us oldies as we don’t tend to moan and go and social media to force our point of view through. People go on about the system being fair, but only if it’s their definition of fair and suits their purpose - We’ll see what happens.

It’s seemed to me he was having a go at SK1, they tend to lead the crowd in booing players. I’m in SK2 and nobody around me was booing him. Dont think it helped that our so-called supportive singing section in SK1 were singing “we’re going down” etc 10 minutes into the game.

The guy is the only genuine attacking midfield player we have. He’s a class player unlike the workmanlike and uninspiring Skipp and Soumare. Winks changed the game today, kept us on the front foot. What happened at the end of last season was down to RVN being an idiot. Once he froze out Winks we were sunk. If we sell Winks and don't replace him, promotion / play offs will be very difficult to achieve with no creative high tempo midfielders.

Things You Wish You'd Never Have To See Or Hear Again
BoyJones replied to Parafox's topic in General Chat
Just play loudly Dave Edmunds hit single from the 1970 album “Rockpile”!! That’ll get rid of them! -
RVN switched him to the other side second half, presumably as he and JJ played like virtual strangers, particularly in their positional play. Seemed to work as he did manage the assist, although I thought he had over hit the pass at first. The lad tries hard, hopefully he can improve with coaching.

Ruud awakening for the Premier League!
BoyJones replied to DJ Barry Hammond's topic in Leicester City Forum
Think it’s also a risky move for Ruud. If he fails and it’s going to be a tough job, it’ll tarnish his reputation. Plus if he loses his first game some of our fans will be on his case immediately. Let’s hope our fans give him time. -
The fans do regularly. I don’t blame the players for going abroad. They would just get loads of abuse if they had a piss up in Leicester by our entitled judgemental fans.

Bit like most of our fans.

Tom Cannon - loan to Stoke City - Official
BoyJones replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Felt sorry for him. How many touches tonight, very few. Playing in a team without much heart doesn’t help. He had a really poor game, but needs minutes and players around him who can bring him into the game. -
Prem Officiating Abomination Journal 24/25
BoyJones replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
VAR have had a mare, there was no conclusive proof to justify overturning the Lino’s decision, but we just have to accept it and move on. They just guessed as they had no cameras in the right place. The PL and VAR are run by a bunch of amateurs, as proven by the PL writing ambiguous rules, which don’t stand up in a court of law. It’s basically going to need a siege mentality from all of us this year, as the PL and VAR will not be looking to do us any favours. -
The referee should never get in the way of the ball. It means he’s in the wrong position, too central / near the play and needs to understand he should be on the periphery. Too many referees like Mike Dean have to be the centre of attention. I used to work with a premier league ref in the 90’s (when the money paid was a pittance) and he would have dropped himself from the next game if he touched the ball whilst in place. Inexcusable in his opinion. Indicates a poor referee.

Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!
BoyJones replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
This guy is a better option than Zaha. Ayew is a team player, a grafter, doesn’t go missing and in a team that will be fighting for their lives most games, has the know how, skill and aggression to mix it. I’ve seen Zaha play live maybe 12 times, over rated and peripheral too often. Not up for the fight as indicated by how many teams moved him on. Think this is an excellent signing and £5m is not a massive punt over two years. We’ve got to get behind him, so I would ask the boo boys who are plentiful on this forum to give him a chance. -
TBF, there have been many brilliant saves, but crucial one’s stick in the memory. Poole, Keller, Kasper at Wembley. But the save Kasper made against Spurs from Kane on 13th January 2016, when he knocked the ball into the ground and up on to the bar won us the league I reckon. Think this one would get my vote. I remember the day well because I had a serious chest issue after Huth scored, but refused any help until after the game, unless I lost consciousness. Told everyone around me to keep cheering for the last 10 minutes! We’ve had many great keepers. Although I’ve been supporting since 62/63, one of my favourites was Mark Wallington.
-
Beat me to it, that save plus Keller’s have always stuck in my mind.

Worst season in the clubs history incoming.
BoyJones replied to Allenho11's topic in Leicester City Forum
I forgot to add the title of this topic typifies the mindset and negativeness of many of our so called supporters. -
Worst season in the clubs history incoming.
BoyJones replied to Allenho11's topic in Leicester City Forum
100% agree with this post. The majority of so called fans on here are so negative, the site is toxic. I sit in SK2 and was ashamed of some of the fans around me last season. Even when we were winning the league, the spite and nastiness levied at the players for any mistake was criminal. The players aren’t stupid, they know many of our key board warriors are waiting to pounce on their first mistake. Instead of constant criticism, we need to create a supportive environment (we are supporters after all), but no doubt the boos will ring out if we are losing at half time on Monday. If we do get relegated, then this will be down to some of our supporters for the toxic environment they have created as well as the board and management. -
Great win, always confident even when three down. 290 was well below par. 320 minimum score to put pressure on the lads. We bat deep, as long as we batted out the overs, always favourites to win. I just wish some posters wouldn’t post negative posts when we are still in the game. Three down in a 50 over match chasing a modest score, you are still in the game. Keep the faith whatever!

Fulham v Leicester City - 24 Aug 15:00
BoyJones replied to phoneticerror's topic in Ticket News and Travel
You can’t help when you happen to be born and I don’t agree with your argument. I know, from many posts, FT don’t value or respect aged supporters, but fortunately for you, we will start to die off soon. The system worked well for some years and whilst I agree it does need a serious looking at, don’t have a go at old people in P1, we’ve paid our dues. Just because you are younger, doesn’t make you better, more deserving supporters. When you’ve paid money to watch Leicester for over 1500 games, come back and have a go.
