I'm already losing faith in him after last Saturday and given today's team selection. He's not going to save us from oblivion. Tbh, not sure if anyone could manage that.
-
Being optimistic, I'm thinking we'll be 2-0 down after 60 minutes, at which point Rowett will bring on Ayew for Reid as part of the club's never ending drive to troll the fans to the maximum level.
-
There's no way anyone in the club even considered the possibility of getting relegated to L1 when those contracts were agreed. Top is probably still thinking we can sneak into the play offs this season.
-
Given how bad Stephy is, I'd think about a Boro style 4222 formation, with Skipp and Winks behind Mukasa and James and then Fatawu playing a more central role up top with Daka, along the lines of how Boro play Morgan Whitaker. The problem is that we don't have full backs with the energy and pace to provide attacking threat out wide, so it probably wouldn't work either!
-
Looks like he's writing this off and saving the better players for the 2 home games next week.
-
Have no idea how they're so high in the table from what I've seen of them. They're nailed on for a 2-0 win at the KP in a couple of weeks of course.
-
We are now effectively bottom then. Shocking.

When you asked this before our visit to Ashton Gate in December, I said: "Hi, mate. This is how things are from our perspective. Essentially, we've been garbage all season apart from the odd wonder goal, the occasional 30 minutes of good play and Jordan James. Our fanbase detest most of our players and many of those players hardly give a sh1t, despite being paid obscene wages that they don't deserve. Oh, and despite raising about £400m in transfer sales over the past 7 or 8 years, we're in such massive trouble with PSR that we're going to get a points deduction and can't afford to sign any players. But other than that, it's all going swimmingly." Things have since got even worse.

You do realise that we've kept 1 clean sheet away from home in the league since beating Preston to secure the Championship title in April 2024? And that was against a poor Charlton team, mainly on the back of a great performance by Jakub, whose form has more recently fallen off cliff, like the rest of the team's. It's a near certainty that we'll need to score 2, or most likely 3 or 4, to win and that is hugely unlikely against the team with the best home defensive record in the Championship this season.

Have you dispensed with a keeper or are we fielding 12 men? Hopefully, the latter so we can at least keep the score down a bit. -

Think Rowett will go for a 541 packed with defensive minded players and then we'll concede in the first 2 minutes. -
Jordan Ayew - NEVER PLAYING FOR LEICESTER AGAIN!!!

I agree but who do we bring on for Daka when he's knackered after 70 minutes of endless if aimless chasing around? Richards? Though it seems he's not an out and out striker either. It's another mind boggling thing that we failed to bring in a central striker in the January window. -
Me and my boys thought the same. They were good on the ball, pressed really well and looked rock solid at the back. A very well coached team. I've come away from lots of games this season wondering how we could have lost to such poor quality opposition. Yesterday was not one of those games. We were simply well beaten by a much better team.
-
Knew I shouldn't have got my hopes up. Won't make that mistake again. Against a huge amount of competition, I genuinely think that was as bad a performance as we've delivered all season. Shockingly bad. The kind of defeat that you look back on later as the moment you knew relegation was a certainty.
-
Not going to say I'm confident but I am looking forward to the game which was rarely, if ever, the case under the previous 3 managers. My 2 boys and I are season ticket holders but haven't been to a game since mid December, largely because I was too disillusioned to make a 230 mile round trip to see a poorly coached and motivated team. Seen enough in the last 2 games to make me think we will at least be competitive now, so we're coming up for this one and intend to fully back the team if they continue to put in the improved effort we've seen since Rowett came in. COYF!
-
I'm scared to say this as I don't want to jinx things but I have really warmed to Rowett in a way that I've not to any of the previous 3 managers. He seems really authentic and straightforward as a guy. I suspect he has also simplified things for the players and as a result he has so far got a really positive reaction from them. Even the connection between the fans and players seems much better. I've actually enjoyed watching the last 3 halves of football, and got properly excited when we have scored; something that I'd just stopped doing previously. Saturday is a huge game, though. Really hope we can get that much needed win.

Really annoys me that commentators always say he works hard. Really?? He's never up with play when we have a break on and he left Mukasa to do all his pressing when he came on, the lazy git. He just seems to play where he wants to, rather than where the team needs a striker to be. It's frankly sacrilege that he took the number 9 shirt from Vardy. -
Sadly, we all know what's coming now.

Divine Mukasa joins on loan - Official

I'm not sure it has as we've scored more than enough goals to survive without a functioning striker (we've scored the 8th highest number of goals in the league and between 13 and 18 more than each of the 4 teams just above us). Our main issue has been our ridiculous defence and, arguably, the lack of a physically strong CDM to protect the back 4. -
Yeah, yet another bad weekend. We had to win today with the games coming up and given Stoke's recent form. Was criminal to concede that equaliser when they were offering nothing.
-
He was marginally less annoying than usual today but I just don't understand why he always wants the ball to feet, rather than being prepared to make a run in behind defenders.

West Brom have Charlton at home and Oxford away in their next 2 games. We could be cut adrift by next week. -

How is my app showing them as having won on xG, when we've have 4 big chances to their 2, plus 15 shots to 11? -

Thomas masterclass, leaving their player totally unmarked for the equaliser and then missing an open goal to win it for us. -
If he's told them to do then he should be sacked today. I've never seen a side worse at defending high balls into the box.
