Faes again!! What was the point in signing Coady?
-
Can see the 'ever obliging' thread getting bounced later on.....
-
Is your opening sentence above based on intel or gut feeling? Either way, what kind of changes do you expect? I just worry that the alternative options for the wingers and the two 8s, where fresh legs would help most, represent a big drop off in effectiveness from our first XI - but if the first XI is totally knackered, what do we do?
-
Dear God, how have we managed fewer points in the last 10 games than that Millwall side? Absolutely scandalous.
-
I would imagine the stadium will be half empty for any trophy presentation as people will surely need to get off early?
-
Watford looking totally toothless here.
-
Almost certainly. He plays too many risky passes for Enzo's liking.

In 8 of the last 9 seasons in the Championship, teams have been promoted losing 9 or more games, including a Fulham team that has since comfortably stayed up for the past 2 seasons. After being in the PL for so long before this season, we've forgotten it's normal for successful teams to lose quite often. In addition, Burnley "only" won 29 games last season. We've won 28 already, with 5 games left.

No, no, no. Show patience, knock the ball around endlessly in front of the opposition's low block to show that we are "controlling the game". The chance will come, we'll wear them down eventually with our endless sideways and backwards passing, no need to worry. Oh no, we've made a mistake and conceded on the break. Never mind, remain patient, no need to panic, just carry on doing the same thing over and over - because we all know that expecting different results from doing the same thing over and over is not insanity at all. Oh, damn, we've lost again - but we "played well" - so that is fine.
-
Wow, can't believe he thinks that was good. We were very unlucky to lose to Leeds and to a degree to Bristol City and Boro, as we missed multiple sitters in both games, despite being poor on the whole. But tonight, against an unbelievably limited team at this level, we were abysmal. Still don't think we deserved to lose but we certainly didn't deserve to win. It was even worse than our performance against QPR and I really hope he is saying something different in the dressing room.
-
Wasn't there tonight. What was the reaction of the fans to the players after the game?
-
I just can't get out of my head that we could have been 7 points ahead of Leeds before they kick off on Saturday, had we won tonight and then do so on Friday. They've only got 4 games left so we'd have been almost there really. So frustrating.

Keep tempting fate, mate!

Match Ratings: Millwall 1-0 Leicester City - Vote Now

Anyone giving Faes more than 1 is very generous. -
This weird inverting of CMs is just another example of Enzo overthinking. We have superior players to Millwall all over the pitch. We'd have been better just matching their 442 and letting our players be better than their direct opponent. With a natural back 4 and conventional right back, Millwall don't score the goal tonight and we at least salvage a point despite being sh1te.
-
They just need the same blueprint that QPR and Millwall used. Park the bus, allow us to make pretty patterns without actually shooting or creating anything, and then pounce on the break when one of our players (probably Faes) makes a stupid mistake, probably out of the sheer boredom of continually passing the ball sideways and backwards.
-
He needs to be dropped immediately. We need steady, composed heads at the back, not some lunatic bombing up the pitch leaving huge gaps behind him when we have Ricardo inverting on that side as well. Sick of him now. Coady must start in his place from now on.
-
Has a team ever conceded so many long range wonder goals in a season in the history of football? Can't be bothered to go back and count them all but it's a lot. I used to think it was unlucky, but now I'm starting to think that we are giving the opposition too many clear shooting opportunities from just outside our box without enough pressure on the ball.
-
We'll get slower and slower with the ball in front of their parked bus before losing 1-0 after Faes loses the ball high up the pitch and Plymouth break into the space left behind to score with their only shot on goal with a 40 yard screamer.
-
All the hallmarks of a typical defeat under Enzo: Endless possession with no purpose - tick Faes losing the ball high up the pitch leading to a goal - tick Getting caught out with the inverted right back miles out of position on the goal - tick Conceding a worldie from distance - tick Showing no clue how to chase a game after falling behind; throwing loads of people forward to look vulnerable in defence whilst failing to look any more dangerous in attack - tick Millwall's tactics were basically what i see at my local non league club - and that was enough to beat us.
-
I don't understand why he sometimes inverts Ndidi and KDH. Has it ever worked well as a tactic?
-
Millwall doing all they can to kill this as a game of football and we're just playing with a lack of urgency and purpose. And, Enzo, please can we swap Ndidi and KDH round to their normal sides?
-
Hard to say that he isn't a good defender as a CB. It is very different playing as a LB, as you're exposed one on one against quick, skilfull wingers in a way that you wouldn't be in the centre. I think many good CBs would find that very hard.

164-5. Didn't get a chance to watch. Under par or an okay score on a tricky deck? -
Hope you are right. But, as I mentioned earlier in the thread, we haven't won on a match day where Leeds or Ipswich have dropped any points, let alone lost, since 10 February! And more astonishingly, we haven't won on a match day where both Leeds and Ipswich have failed to win for over 3 months or, in other words, 16 game days!
