I expect to be crucified for saying this, but is Ruud the problem? As we all know the problems are way above him. He inherited a shit squad with a bad attitude and culture, and perhaps the strangest thing about bringing Ruud in was that he only brought in one of his own coaches (Barry-Murphy and King were appointed by the club). And not only was he not backed with his own coaches, he wasn’t backed in January. I think he should have done better, but for me the damage was done with the summer recruitment. No one could have kept this squad up. If he’s here next year, I’ll support him but he needs to get off to a good start.

They’re a mid table side (at best) who are having a good season. Nice to see them bottling CL as well.

I have a theory on this. Maybe they are being silent on Ruud and not saying much because they are looking to sell…? There are also rumours to that effect.

I listened to Jonathan Northcroft on the BLSB pod recently and he says Nigel Pearson was more like a DoF and a manager. He built the backroom structures, or at least was integral to them, that were so successful. I’ve never been more convinced that we should go heaven and earth to get him back as a defined DoF, or if he doesn’t want that then a consultant or in the boardroom - just something where he can direct and oversee building the structures and getting the right people back given that most have left over the years. Perhaps alongside Nigel we’d also need someone who knows the modern game as well, just to compliment the wily old Fox that Nige is.

Ric Flair Live & Direct on BSLB Podcast
Wasyls Pec Deck replied to Ric Flair's topic in Leicester City Forum
Absolutely superb pod. Northcroft has a very good wider perspective on us and how we’ve operated compared to other clubs. Really good listen, well done lads. -
Possibly. I could see someone like West Ham taking a punt of him as a squad player, but if I was him I’d go link up again with Dean Smith and Fuchs and piss it up in the MLS.

This has clearly been rumbling on for a while. There’s been times this season where he has refused to come off. I would have been tempted to give him a go next season, but at reduced wage. But that might have been wrong given his age. If Vardy’s influence has started to be detrimental within the club, this may be painful but it also might be a good move - sadly. And it feels strange saying that because I love the bloke.

Victor Kristiansen is pronounced “useless tosser”

Well I was planning on gobbing off!

Because it will make the atmosphere less toxic than it would have been had it not been announced

I think we can do both pro Vardy and anti board chants. Why not? But absolutely the thinking at the club will that this will be a deflection tactic. I say we don’t let them off the hook. We can honour our very best and call out some of the worst decision-making we’ve seen at the same time.

The JAMIE VARDY STAND. Rename the Kop.

100% behind this and a statue -
And what are Crystal Palace then? Absolute joke, in the natural order of things we are way bigger than Palace. Twat!

Yea he should have gone out on a high, instead of this total embarrassment of a season. Another reason not to let these clowns off lightly…

Echoing almost all posts so far, but words on a forum struggle to do justice to his contribution to the club and I suspect to many of us personally. A proper Roy of the Rovers character in the modern game - he came from nothing and gave us everything and more than we could ever imagine. I feel embarrassed to say I thought he should leave after his first season, but delighted to be proven wrong - and how wrong. I have a signed shirt at home on the wall, and my daughters middle name is ‘Jamie’, and by fluke my daughter and his daughter have the same name. A legend to the club and to many of us personally, but I think it is the right time to say goodbye. But hopefully he’ll be back in some capacity, even if it’s the occasional media duty or up in the hospitality lounges. I wish him luck at whatever he does next, but I hope it’s abroad as I don’t think I could face seeing him playing us.

We go out and think ‘how can we waste the most money in the shortest space of time?’

What’s the plan for the next five games
Wasyls Pec Deck replied to JimmyC74's topic in Leicester City Forum
My hope is to try and salvage an ounce of self respect and not be a total embarrassment (we already are, but I mean in this 5 game run). The reality I’m sure will continue to be a total calamity on the pitch, and Top, Rudkin and Board members being tone deaf and literally deaf to any of our concerns. Only a matter of time before we need to escalate our concerns from a few meek ‘Rudkin out’ chants to full on protests and dog muck throwing. -
Even Morecambe FC board of directors have put a statement out, and they are in a much bigger predicament than we are. Written in a nice tone and heartfelt, perhaps the mugs at our club should take note https://www.morecambefc.com/news/2025/april/22/club-statement/

It irks me because Emery was brought to Villa when we were level on points with them (or maybe above them slightly?). Their trajectory and ours since just shows what can happen with good decision-making. Some of us were also calling for us to make a change at that time as well given it was going stale under Rodgers.
-
What did he say? I’m guessing Emery is responding to what Watkins said after the Newcastle game?
-
“Yea I’m not my father, but so what…”

Stale organisations - in any sector - often do not move forward…

The longer this over promoted clown has keys to the club the longer the connection between club and fans will be divided. After listening to Branston on BSLB, clearly you can’t call into question his job in building the academy. He’s clearly very good at it. He’s clearly not very good at all or most of the other roles he does. He has overseen such a mess. Would he accept his role just covering the academy? I wouldn’t have thought so. He needs to go. Divided clubs tend only to go in one direction, and it ain’t up.
