  1. This is brilliant btw. Proper pissing myself.
  2. It’s an interesting debate in whatever way it was meant. I think this lot are the most hampered by incompetence at board level, but not certain about that. We have some decent quality, but no depth. I was going to say they could be the worst for mentality and character, but again I think that goes to Maddison et al. Still time though.
  3. Just listening - I don’t think it’s the worst PL side for underperforming at all. The 94-95 lot were dog muck, and the last lot that got us relegated underperformed more imo. Although the individual errors etc this season does remind me of the Rodgers-Smith campaign.
  4. Exactly this. It’s a stale organisation that has had minimal new ideas and challenges in god knows how long.
  5. Palace could sell him abroad couldn’t they? I bet we’re covering a lot of what is probably a healthy wage as well. But if you’re Palace and you know leaving him here makes us less able to operate and bring players in (ie another loan) surely that makes sense for them? Surely it’s good to be suspicious when a rival tries to fill up 1 of 2 loan spots with someone who has really gone off the boil? But no, Rudkin fell for it hook, line and sinker!
  6. You’re saying he would have made contact with the ball then?
  7. I’ve liked the look of a lot of Covs offensive players recently, including Haji Wright
  8. There was someone I went to Uni with who was dyslexic, and couldn’t understand why Emmerdale was being broadcast in the early hours of the morning…
  9. We criticised Forest for banging on about the league title and European cups etc. I think it is holding us back like a big weight around our shoulders. It’s almost saying “look what we did and you will never get anywhere close to it” but to our own players.
  10. I think a more important, but linked, conversation is how winning the league has altered our identity, culture and expectations. It’s not spoken about enough. Who are we now? What do we expect? I think we expect more now, but I don’t think this is over the top. As a minimum we should have been able to use our recent success to stabilise as a MINIMUM mid table PL club never in danger of going down, and occasionally finishing in European places. The travesty is that we have not - and it’s all gone south so so quickly. If there are any out there who think the current regime are exempt from criticism because of recent success, I’d love to meet you and get inside your mind. Surely they don’t exist? How can you mismanage to this extent in such a short time frame and still not be critical? But then again I saw quite a number of supporters clapping the players off when we beat West Ham but went down. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing.
  11. I 100% agree, but there is literally no one else available. Maybe an academy kid, but that comes with risk in a team who are struggling. However, I think we’re now at the point - like Ward - where a change is needed even if it’s an unproven kid. I’ve just seen this, and while 3 or 4 are harsh to lay at JJs door the rest aren’t. It’s quite unbelievable really. I really do think we’d be mid table with a competent right back. What on earth has happened to him.
  12. It’s a mindset that has seeped into the modern game, whether it was a directive or not. If would have been an explicit directive last season, and I think we’re going back to that sort of style (albeit with not much attacking threat today).
  13. This prat is cooked at this level. He was ok today, and then does that…
  14. It has nothing to do with passing out from the back? And yet that’s exactly how he gave the ball away in a dangerous area…? I’m not sure I follow
  15. JJ’s mistake all stems from this thing in modern football where it’s acceptable to take needless risks to pass it out in that situation. Surely if you hoof it and give the ball away it is preferable to passing it out from the back and giving the ball away in a far more dangerous position?
  16. I wish we’d stop looking for one person to blame. It’s a team game and we are not exactly one of the strongest teams in this league.
  17. **** sake. Another good show for nothing at the moment then.
  18. We look very decent on the ball. Very tidy
  19. I would say in the last two games we’ve been very good
  20. I didn’t say we were a good side! We’re absolutely not.
  21. We need to convert playing well into points. Villa are vulnerable, but still a good side. I think we can get something today, but we could easily switch off twice and get nothing. Who knows…
