Why? They won't be in the same league as us for the next 2 seasons, we'll be swapping places next summer
-
Yes, the performance was sh*t and yes, Southgate should be on the next plane home regardless. But... people saying we didn't deserve it. What exactly did Slovakia do to deserve the win? They scored with their only shot on target, so did we. We were poor against an inferior team, but found a way to win. A few others haven't done so this tournament. Switzerland will be a hell of a test though, they look an outstanding outfit.

Surely there's someone in the academy we can flog for a massively inflated price to Everton or Forest, in return for 1 of their academy products for an equally inflated price? That's the in thing right now, isn't it?

It was never going to happen on this pitch, for anyone other than India. They basically got a bye to the final, being guaranteed this ground. -

Shame. Although they only exercised their option to buy at €10m. Not beyond the realms of possibility (and has happened before) that a team flip a player quickly for a profit. You know, with all that money we have -

How good is Mikautadze!? Surely worth asking the question to Metz. Georgia have fantastic little bursts of possession, with purpose. Great to watch. -

Some England fans' reactions to the team's performances at Euro 2024 are "creating an unusual environment" which is "causing an issue for the group" says manager Gareth Southgate. No, Gareth. Some performances on the pitch are creating an unusual environment in the stands, which is filled with fans who've spent ALOT of money to watch your side limp to a 0-0 draw against Slovenia. Fix what you're paid to fix, and the fans will follow. Not the other way round -

2 teams going through without winning a game, what a farce of a tournament. -

Bellingham has been shocking again. -
I quite like it tbh. But, if we were looking at minimalism, we already have a fantastic logo in our history books. We don't need this one.

This is worrying. I personally think he lacks the skillset to be impactful in that position. A new #10 is a must. KDH is a #8 and can be used as a #10 if rotation is required.

You'd have Kane, Foden, Palmer and Bellingham all wanting to occupy the same areas. Southgate can't coach a tactic. He picks 11 players, a bog standard formation and just tells every player to do what they do at club level. Works through qualifying purely on the basis that our players are just better. This'll be another generation of great players going absolutely nowhere under inept management. -

Can't wait for Southgate to finally be off. Constantly outplayed tactically during games, he clueless. Square pegs in round holes to fit certain players in. Look at Germany, Mittelstadt playing on the left because it keeps the balance, despite better players sitting on the bench. Southgate would squeeze someone like Sane in there. -
Because they aren't our feeder club, we just have the same owners. Some decisions might be mutually beneficial, but we can't just "have the pick of their best players."
-
A bit worried that there are a couple of runs of 4 or 5 games where you wonder where we'll pick up any points (on paper) But, this is the PL and anybody above 15th looked reasonably strong last season. Can see a mini league of the 3 promoted teams and maybe Brentford and Forest battling for survival.

You can if it's a dangerous tackle. No red card only applies if you make a genuine attempt to play the ball and stop a goal scoring opportunity. You'd be fuming if a tackle like that DIDN'T result in a red card anywhere on the pitch. -
Spurs must put out some banging content on TikTok

Sporting won't register him in their squad and he won't play an official game, so I don't think it'll matter.
-
I don't understand why people believe the appointment will be "crap" and "uninspiring" Happens every time we're looking for a new manager, and the board have generally been excellent at finding the right managers. They've definitely had more hits than misses.
-
Not really deflated. The only aim this season is survival, and whilst I would rather have kept Enzo there are other managers out there who could give us as much chance as he does of staying up. I really don't expect to avoid relegation this season so happy to give the new man a couple of seasons, hopefully another project manager. But even if it's Moyes, I'd be uninspired but I'd understand why.
-
Our last 2 summer-appointed managers have both gone on to win the league in their 1st season. Just saying
-
He wouldn't end up here, he only fails upwards.

Not sure I'm overly fussed about this, I will probably change my tune later though once we're playing drab football under Cooper with 8 loan players. It's gonna be a hard task for anyone to keep us in the PL, really. He would have either hit the ground running in the Prem and been poached mid-season once the sackings start, or we start poorly and he's the one getting sacked at Christmas, meaning no compo. This is the best outcome.
