All these things existed this time last season, when we appointed Enzo who, for better of for worse, was an exciting appointment. Id prioritise a pragmatic manager, personally. There's managers not much further than the end of our nose that would have as good a chance at keeping us in the PL, if not a better chance. I'd prefer to keep Enzo, by the way, but with or without him we're looking at a likely relegation again at which point he'd be gone anyway.

But your dismissing where these tackles are being made. He's in a far more advanced position in this system, against defensive players that are far less likely to take risks with passes or take-ons. I think he's shown enough to be a decent option in the Prem. Even on a 2-year deal, if we go down he's a saleable asset.

What people seem to be missing about free transfers is that, most of the time, the players are running down their contract so their agent is able to negotiate a higher wage for them at their new club. We've been riddled with players that are on wages higher than their relative ability, that we can't shift when they flop. I hope we don't replace them like for like, after just clearing half of them off the books.

Still value in that. Hopefully selling Soumare or (less hopefully) KDH could fund that.

They'll sell. They've got a front 3/4 that could fetch upwards of £60m total. Gray will go for a good amount despite being massively overrated, that's pure profit. Meslier might fetch a bit. The difference between us trying to sell last season, and Leeds this, is that it'll be coming off the back of a (semi) successful season, in which certain players have flourished. We didn't have that. This is all if they fail to go up.
