  1. You'd have Kane, Foden, Palmer and Bellingham all wanting to occupy the same areas. Southgate can't coach a tactic. He picks 11 players, a bog standard formation and just tells every player to do what they do at club level. Works through qualifying purely on the basis that our players are just better. This'll be another generation of great players going absolutely nowhere under inept management.
  2. Can't wait for Southgate to finally be off. Constantly outplayed tactically during games, he clueless. Square pegs in round holes to fit certain players in. Look at Germany, Mittelstadt playing on the left because it keeps the balance, despite better players sitting on the bench. Southgate would squeeze someone like Sane in there.
  3. Because they aren't our feeder club, we just have the same owners. Some decisions might be mutually beneficial, but we can't just "have the pick of their best players."
  4. A bit worried that there are a couple of runs of 4 or 5 games where you wonder where we'll pick up any points (on paper) But, this is the PL and anybody above 15th looked reasonably strong last season. Can see a mini league of the 3 promoted teams and maybe Brentford and Forest battling for survival.
  5. Greatest. Schmeichel Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Albrighton Okazaki Vardy Subjective on whether they're considered the best, but hard to debate against them being the greatest.
  6. You can if it's a dangerous tackle. No red card only applies if you make a genuine attempt to play the ball and stop a goal scoring opportunity. You'd be fuming if a tackle like that DIDN'T result in a red card anywhere on the pitch.
  7. Spurs must put out some banging content on TikTok
  8. It's a rule we knew existed, and still broke. Why would we protest a sanction that the club themselves brought about? Doesn't matter whether it's ridiculous or not. Plenty of other clubs abided by the rules and remained in the PL, we only have ourselves to blame.
  9. Sporting won't register him in their squad and he won't play an official game, so I don't think it'll matter.
  10. I don't understand why people believe the appointment will be "crap" and "uninspiring" Happens every time we're looking for a new manager, and the board have generally been excellent at finding the right managers. They've definitely had more hits than misses.
  11. Not really deflated. The only aim this season is survival, and whilst I would rather have kept Enzo there are other managers out there who could give us as much chance as he does of staying up. I really don't expect to avoid relegation this season so happy to give the new man a couple of seasons, hopefully another project manager. But even if it's Moyes, I'd be uninspired but I'd understand why.
  12. Our last 2 summer-appointed managers have both gone on to win the league in their 1st season. Just saying
  13. He wouldn't end up here, he only fails upwards.
  14. Not sure I'm overly fussed about this, I will probably change my tune later though once we're playing drab football under Cooper with 8 loan players. It's gonna be a hard task for anyone to keep us in the PL, really. He would have either hit the ground running in the Prem and been poached mid-season once the sackings start, or we start poorly and he's the one getting sacked at Christmas, meaning no compo. This is the best outcome.
  15. No wonder the Leeds fans are so delusional. The joy in this forum this afternoon is close to exceeding the night we got promoted.
  16. All these things existed this time last season, when we appointed Enzo who, for better of for worse, was an exciting appointment. Id prioritise a pragmatic manager, personally. There's managers not much further than the end of our nose that would have as good a chance at keeping us in the PL, if not a better chance. I'd prefer to keep Enzo, by the way, but with or without him we're looking at a likely relegation again at which point he'd be gone anyway.
  17. Why? They appointed Enzo. They appointed Rodgers (a very exciting appointment at the time)
  18. Patson personally handed the transfer fee to @hackneyfox mate's lad. He's gonna run it up here and pick up Patson's boots. Done deal, personally think we've had their pants down at £50
  19. Their age and the fact they're likely happy to play bit-part roles is exactly why they have, I guess. They'll be excellent to have around the young squad they have.
  20. Technically, you get a better view of the game through the TV cameras than you do in the stands.
  21. Is Luke Thomas off on a free?
  22. But your dismissing where these tackles are being made. He's in a far more advanced position in this system, against defensive players that are far less likely to take risks with passes or take-ons. I think he's shown enough to be a decent option in the Prem. Even on a 2-year deal, if we go down he's a saleable asset.
  23. What people seem to be missing about free transfers is that, most of the time, the players are running down their contract so their agent is able to negotiate a higher wage for them at their new club. We've been riddled with players that are on wages higher than their relative ability, that we can't shift when they flop. I hope we don't replace them like for like, after just clearing half of them off the books.
  24. Still value in that. Hopefully selling Soumare or (less hopefully) KDH could fund that.
  25. Better than the Brighton performance last time we went up Everybody else finished behind said team, so I'll take that. Busy summer but onwards and upwards.
