I have always said that I’m not convinced trump is a fan of BN. I think he harbours a grudge from when BN congratulated Biden quite early on his victory whilst trump was still arguing the result wasn’t safe. there are many different schools of thought on what’s happening behind the scenes on all of this. Presumably once trump is ensconced in the White House we’ll see how the negs for phase 2 go in a few weeks to get a better indication. The agreement as it exists will strengthen Hamas financially because the large volumes of aid that will enter from Monday will come under their control and they set the prices in the market. I cannot see that Hamas are not going to be the controlling entity in Gaza longer term. They may indicate that they could renounce violence as the PLO did in the eighties in order to keep control. this would mean netenyahu’s govt is done. The religious right wing parties will not support anything that doesn’t see the end of Hamas. they are v unlikely to support the current agreement getting to phase 2. He could be done within the next few weeks (I think if the bibas children are dead and indications are that this is the case then without trump doing a reverse on where he appears to be atm BN is really struggling). It’s tough to make too many judgements because trump is so difficult to second guess.

I think it’s possibly that but more likely that he’s assured BN that Iran won’t be allowed to develop a nuclear bomb that can be launched at Israel. (Either by allowing Israel to do as they need there or via USA becoming directly involved in effective sanctions). that also works for Saudi btw

It’s a complex agreement which basically kicks most of the difficult issues down the road for a few weeks. They have to resume negotiations in 16 days ref phase 2 and we’ll see how the political situation in Israel has changed by then. BN could be struggling to hang onto his coalition big time by then. I am wondering what trump has potentially offered/promised to BN to get him to agree to things he previously refused to.

Are you shocked at the lack of forward planning / thinking ? If you needed evidence how awfully our club is run then Richard’s and braybrooke’s loans sum it up. (Not that they’ve had loans which haven’t worked out - that happens.) Was huth in charge of this and when did he leave ? Someone was responsible for ensuring that those likely to go out on loan didn’t play a ‘senior’ competitive fixture pre loan.

They are massively outperforming their statistical numbers it would be amazing if they managed t8 qualify for Europe based on that.
