Arsenal (A) Match Thread - 15:00PM 28th Sept

WTF? why would you say that ? It can only be poor for facundo’s mindset it’s of no benefit -
cheerleading refers to what’s going on in Gaza, lebanon and beyond of course the realities of Israeli politics dictates nuances of some calls. imo, the big calls are not those though. their domestic policies are mostly repugnant but the discussion is about the ‘regional’ political decisions which dictate the direction of the war in Gaza and now Lebanon. Btw, the two of them weren’t in the original war cabinet (before it disbanded). on that strategic regional level, what will Iran now decide to do ?? ‘people of the same mindset’. - come on Mac, what does that even mean ? rhetoric from the far extremist wings of politics is just that. It shouldn’t be given the time of day in any serious debate.
-
Well at the next election, netenyahu wins comfortably (able to form coalition without ‘extremist’ support) because he’s managed to win the war against Hamas (unlikely) and Hezbollah (possible) or he loses badly because his domestic day of reckoning has come with the enquiries into oct 7 (most likely and he’d probably have resigned and not stood)
-
They’re not decision makers at that level - just cheer leaders In two years time (max) they will be nobodys because they won’t be part of govt Nasrullah had the opportunity to back down after the pagers and walkie talkies - Israel mistakenly expected that he likely would. the only reason that sinwar hasn’t suffered the same fate as nasrullah is that he apparently has some hostages close to him as he travels around the tunnel network.
-
You didn’t mention sinwar ??

dont know tbh if it can be shown that the central command of hezbollah is underground then it becomes a viable military target I’m pretty sure that under international law the responsibility for placing the facility below civilian structures lies there rather than with the attack. You and me wouldn’t authorise the strike because of the inevitable civilian casualties but if you’re charged as elected leader, with the responsibility of defending your country then presumably you have to make calls like this ???
-
Big trouble now ……… seems that Israel have attempted to take out nasrullah in his underground bunker beneath Beirut. that will have killed a lot of civilians I would have expected the bunker to be more secure than being able to be eliminated from above reports that 4 buildings have collapsed into the void which would surely mean hundreds of civilians killed ??

Don’t think he’s 16 till next summer I think it would be unprecedented for a 15 y o kid to be regularly in a first team PL squad.
-
U don’t want to be sheppy ………
-
Not that easy ric - all depends on the kid, his family and their advisors (although strictly speaking he shouldn’t have an agent yet) You’d assume that the club would have a development plan mapped out for him and would be working closely with the family on it. But who knows? It certainly didn’t work with nyoni or the kid that went to Man City you can understand more successful clubs struggling to convince that their boy will feature in the first team squad by 17 y o. However, we see it at those clubs but we seem incapable of doing it. Man City, liverpool, arsenal have all played 16 or 17 y o in their first teams this season.

Don’t we all? (Apart from a few in the states and Mozart )

They’ve done well to get to today most down here have been shut a couple of days earlier this week already and will no doubt be again today

Pretty sure that the funding is for defensive procurement - mainly air defence systems like iron dome. of course money is money but I have read that the US admin has suspended some shipments which could be used for non defensive reasons. This would not be the first time and usually happens when they try and exert some leverage on BN. Yemen launched a missile towards tel aviv around midnight. Wasn’t intercepted before several millions had been woken and sent to shelters. Suspect we will see a large response - seems they lack intelligence re Houthis so don’t expect any ‘targeted assasinations’ - more likely a volley of weapons that go for infrastructure like ports.

The general point is that warmer air holds more moisture = more rainfall (It should be noted that when the weather has turned cooler this summer it’s been pretty much dry. The downpours have come with more humid air. )

I think that the Israelis are trying to separate hezbollah from Hamas. Next week is Jewish new year and in two weeks the day of atonement Israel will not want to be fighting in Lebanon at this time - a 14/21 day pause in fighting may suit them in this respect. Hezbollah have stated many times that they will continue to fire rockets whilst there is no ceasefire in Gaza if they agree to a 3 week pause does that break this commitment?? there are certainly mixed messages from the Americans relating to the Israelis position. Most likely that Israel won’t publicly support a pause unless they know hezbollah are on board. The threat of a ground invasion is important to them because they believe that hezbollah don’t want this - I’m not so sure - I think they would welcome the chance to fight on their terms on their territory.

Context was the post I was responding to extreme satire

Sh1tshow it’s going to be a huge disappointment anyway and the fact they’re delaying it probably means it’s unlikely to be fit for purpose just pay off Nike for the match ball contract and go with the proven adidas auto system
-
Going to be some early season postponements in grass roots this weekend
-
Surprising to read that the PL post match panel of 5 judged that MGW should not have received a second caution by 3-2 we can expect to see full on high impact scissor challenges not cautioned from now on then ?? (BUPA shares nosedive )
-
If their two starting full backs (white and timber) are out then we could start with mavs and fats and go for it on transition against what are likely to be centre backs playing at full back. but that opens us up to a tonking and i reckon a decent GD gives us an extra point later in the season expect a very defensive approach, low block and an attempt to escape with a 2 goal deficit

We had a young German lady come to teach us when we were twelve and thirteen no idea why your post made me think of her ………
