  1. this is the largest problem for British retail business atm - govt impotent (as usual) because they have no comprehension about small business https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cnv78eey8plo
  2. Could you finance a talented footballer for £3m per season (psr element of fee + wages ) it depends what spurs would want as a loan fee. Could be that covering the wages would be enough for them. no idea about the ‘went missing’ part of your post as didn’t pay a lot of attention to championship football last season (was hard enough to bother with our campaign). Still not sure why we need another left winger unless the intention is to have Monga covering fats on the right now that KM has gone.
  3. I’m sure they’ll be having lots of lunches and dinners before they can have a look at your list
  4. We are borrowing the mads money for cash flow reasons now that could be because we are trying to buy a player and we can save a couple mill by paying all upfront I reckon it’s more that we are just short of cash flow (as happens every season )
  5. Got Senegal and Mozambique the wrong way around - only 2c counting that as a win !
  6. Sold toney for a lot sold mbuemo for a lot selling wissa for a lot they can afford it though it’s out of character
  7. A stonking s/o fee instead in addition to a fat championship salary of 60k. In brownhills territory
  8. Wonder what the initial payment from West Ham was ? they’re usually equal amounts which would make the fee £15m The interest we’ll pay is also going to reduce the total amount we receive closer to £14 m clearly our cash flow is not particularly healthy if we need to draw down on £15m. However, it may also indicate we aren’t expecting to make another big sale.
  9. Lateral thinking by our recruitment doing it the generally accepted way didn’t work
  10. Obligation should be irrelevant to staying up. Our fatawu deal was obligation based on appearances and us going up. we could accept a psr neutral deal with Leeds based on staying up but that could mean he returns to us next summer and we have this all over again. Plus if he performs badly for them then his value may drop.
  11. Anyone pretending that asylum seekers coming here by boat isn’t a problem that needs to be sorted is adding to the mess. We need a proper functioning fair system - we have a massive advantage of a sea border so the vast majority of those arriving are easily identified. These people have often travelled long distances and risked their lives to get here. Are they economic refugees or genuine asylum seekers? The current system is overloaded and not fit for purpose. The system for legal migration is also not fit for purpose. Simple solutions such as putting these people in local hotels is such an easy win for those that wish to make capital from it. the money could surely be better spent creating more inventive solutions for their residence here until such time that they can be assessed properly. Of course the backlog is a huge problem for now but I think as we move forwards with an ever warming climate, our geographical position will make us an even more attractive place to try and come to. This problem isn’t going to disappear.
  12. His wages aren’t going to be insignificant for.a 38 y o (apparently he wants around 40k/week and I’ve no idea re s/o fee) At 38, he’s not viewed as a zlatan level player. His record for us last season wasn’t good enough to make him a no brainer signing. id be surprised if he did particularly well in serie A but he could be quite a decent influence in the dressing room for them.
  13. I think if you ask enough questions about enough issues - most people will come out close to the centre. This is what too many principled politicians have failed to come to terms with in our fptp system. Occupy the middle ground the best to give yourself the best chance of winning.
  14. there are a few True - Between a rock and a hard place - spuds or gooners my youngest was offered a free spurs training day today - he took it but quickly gave away the goodies they were given at the end of the day! definitely more spurs than arsenal though in Herts
  15. All things Lcfc? he can’t know too much after six weeks!
  16. If we have a replacement lined up then we do the same loan with obligation deal on that too. then it’s all becomes neutral for this season. assuming we are psr clean for this season (which I don’t believe)
  17. Lost two great jockeys this week - Bruce Raymond and Geoff Lewis suppose it’s inevitable as time moves on reflects on my age 😮
  18. That’s basically our stance with the player if everything falls apart and he’s still here come September if his agent has screwed things up for him that isn’t our problem. There was an RC and no one triggered it. He’ll have to show maturity and get on with it.
  19. Depends if you’ve got a six bedroom mansion to let ……..
  20. two for one on the agency fee?
  21. Would imagine it’s a negotiating thing to try and stop the lowball offers. we will know for sure by the time we see the accounts for 25/26 (that’s a long way away)
  22. decent negotiating technique (at last) pay up mr levy or move onto someone else hopefully BEK knows that he might have to stay ……
  23. True but they aren’t judging the quality of our signings if we’d spent 20m on a 36 y o then that wouldn’t look good !
  24. He’s worth £10m given his age
