This is what blows my mind with PSR. You can't just cut your losses on a poor signing by selling on the cheap, and potentially end up in a downward spiral. It completely counters what the rules are supposedly there to prevent.

A £1.5m transfer fee isn't necessarily a problem, provided that he's on sensible wages and we actually have the money to be paying that (we've just got to hope that the incoming fees have indeed balanced the books for this season I suppose). If it rises to £3m then we've been promoted and no longer looking into the financial abyss. From a purely footballing perspective, he seems a decent character and should be excellent at this level.

Sometimes it just doesn't work out somewhere for a player. I think he's got the capability to go and thrive in a more positive environment- very much a confidence player. I'd be happy for him if he does well to be honest.

We may have got Emery at the time, but we were a ticking time bomb under Top and Rudkin by that point. Our downfall was inevitable and there's no way we'd still be in Europe now.
