My friends, I hear you and I do this myself. There will always be something presented to us that we can be pulled down by. I guess our job is to try and net zero the issue by putting that amount of goodwill out there by way of a response. Easier said than done, I accept.

This is such a thoughtful, sensitive, well meaning post. I don't really disagree at all, but I know how maddening it is to see threads so weakly moderated, when such misinformation AND disinformation is reinforced.

I've been in an emotional holding pattern for 2 years, and wasn't sure I would ever get to land my metaphorical plane. Happily, though, the woman I desire has radioed me to start my descent and (hopefully) make a safe landing. So (obvious sexual imagery aside) we get the chance to see if we can adjust from how we have had to be, to how we imagine we want to be. I know it won't solve any existential issues I have, and I need to not rely on it to make me happy. However, I am the luckiest man alive - that she wants me as much as I want her, after 53 years of nothing remotely close to it, is mind blowing. I have many friends on this thread, and I wanted to share this with you.

I think it is worth noting the difference between misinformation and disinformation. One is an accident, the other not so.

You have asked the right question, and the answer is almost certainly absolutely nothing.

I don't know if it has been said, but I suspected that this was all empty promises made by the previous administration - something they specialised in (Northern Power House, HS2, Levelling Up) and that all that has happened is that somebody is now exposing that practice to light. Amazing how they have managed to hide in plain sight all this time with the help of their client journalists and mendacious media editors. Mendacious bastards, the lot of them.
