Tbh apart from his goal I wasn't that impressed with him when he played at the beginning of the season. Maybe he was lacking in a bit of confidence? He may have more natural ability than McAteer, but he didn't make good decisions and didn't seem mentally strong. I'm glad they've played hardball on his contract. There was very little evidence from his performances to suggest he was worth that much?

I think the biggest question with Mavididi is his decision making, it's in his head. He has fantastic physicality, can easily ride challenges and has plenty of tekkers (I cringe using that word, but I think it's succinct). I think we are seeing improvements with him, and hope to see more. I'm sure he's benefiting from a coaching team that seem able to identify players weaknesses and actually improve them.

He looked like he might get an England selection in early 2021, prior to the Euros, until he injured his Achilles in February 2021. He got his England cap upon his return after the injury, when I didn't think he'd regained his earlier form and was still struggling. His cap probably was due to the unavailability of other fullbacks and he was dragged off at half time. Unfortunate for the lad, but at least he can say he played for England.

I think this has been more so since Doyle has been out. Whilst Justin offers more pace his passing limitations often let us down, or more accurately the move breaks down and he passes back.

It's not the first time Enzo's moved Ricardo further forward to ensure the overload, not sure of the game, was it QPR? I did notice KDH and Wilf had switched in the second half, and didn't it prove effective! I've no idea if they've switched before? I haven't noticed it in earlier games.

Doyle missing probably hasn't helped as he is more comfortable on the ball than Justin.
