We can debate the pros and cons of Martin and Dyche but at this moment Leicester need to sort of a mutually acceptable compromise with Ruud if there is one. I’m guessing Leicester want Martin because he is up and coming and more in the Enzo mould. Whether that style will work next year I don’t know but the players simply aren’t performing atm

Fair point. I just think RVN hasn’t been given the easiest ride by decisions over the Summer at all levels of the club. I do think Ruud should take some responsibility and it worries re at press conference that he seems to blame others and the gulf between leagues.
-
Very few players are out of contract so we need a manager that can inspire and maximise the potential of the existing squad. Ruud may not be responsible for relegation but totally convinced he is not the one to lead Leicester back. Too many squad players look unhappy or unmotivated and we need a completely fresh start (ideally at several levels in the club)

At least that penalty gives a xg of over 1 for a change!!!

Both Soumare and Wilf struggle tracking back but no changes made week in week out. RVN inflexibility becoming hard to understand.

Shaping the future just a bit of positive spin the team selection doesn’t support it as others have said.

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official
Edingleyfox replied to moore_94's topic in Leicester City Forum
Quite honestly I can only think that Ipswich and Southampton being in a similar predicament has saved the manager coupled with his legendary status as a player. He is a good talker but his ultra cautious approach relying on older players and dropping likes of Facundo and Mavididi early on just spiralled into what we have seen at home. He had tried to adopt a different approach now but I am not convinced by him as a manager -
West Brom away great escape and the one with Mahrez assist. Goal in the 5 3 United win and the one breaking RVN record and of course the brilliant effort in the 2 0 Liverpool win

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

McKenna might be retained but he has a lot in the bank with successive promotions from League one and the Championship. -
Atmosphere was a bit strange yesterday. It seemed that about 1/3 rd were not regulars and of course expectations were zero. I suppose after 16 defeats in the last 18 games just being level at half time made a change and most were happy enough. That is how far things have fallen

I thought club was planning for next season and giving youngsters a chance to develop? .

Expectation and entitlement.
Edingleyfox replied to João Miguel da Cunha's topic in Leicester City Forum
I’ve heard these comments about Leicester’s fan base being entitled and unrealistic in their expectations multiple times- usually by journalists and pundits who don’t watch them regularly. IMO most City fans are realistic but this year the recruitment has barely added to the first 11, there has been very little encouragement for the younger players and so little energy on the pitch. Ruud has been talking up the youth being the future of the club but he hasn’t taken risks until the season is virtually done. I was totally expecting a relegation scrap this season but we seem to have been way too negative from day one -
Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

I was expecting an announcement after the Newcastle game but I don't think the club want to be seen to be sacking 2 managers in the same season. The performances of other promoted clubs has given the manager some more leeway than normal. I suspect it could even come down to the Southampton and Ipswich games. If City are second best in those games I cannot see any possibility that Ruud will be given a shot at the Championship. -
Barnes looks so much fitter at Newcastle than he did at Leicester
-
Why on earth has Mav been benched for most of the season and surprised to see him subbed when causing havoc
-
I’d hoped Ricardo could have started. Central midfield Winks still out of favour I don’t think Soumare offers enough but it looks like the manager rates him. At least there are 4 attacking players so more changes than usual
-
We are 38 pages into a new manager thread but you we know if anyone at the club has even spoken to Ruud about the future in recent days? I didn't get that impression listening to the press conference.
-
My take on this was that if the squad isn’t good enough or don’t play to their potential then changing the formation won’t do very much. The comment that Leicester are between Southampton and Ipswich as promoted sides played down what expectations should be. Of course he has a point but is it helpful?

Season Ticket Renewal Deadline Shut
Edingleyfox replied to The Year Of The Fox's topic in Leicester City Forum
I think delaying any decisions about the future of RVN or other management will have tipped a lot of people who were on the fence into cancelling their subscription. Talking to people that were there on Monday most had renewed but there was almost an entire row of empty seats in front and people leaving after half an hour shaking their heads. I don't suppose the club will release the figures. -
I think a number of decent people won't fancy the Leicester job for many reasons whether it be financial or unrealistic expectations. Big name managers from abroad like Ancelotti might sound a little more exciting than some but they won't know just how shambolic the last 9 months has been or be familiar with the players/Championship. Rosenior or Corberan would IMO be good but of course how much more compensation will Leicester be able to afford and would they be interested?

Concerns about the direction of the club
Edingleyfox replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
The club is in free fall and the lack of change on and off the pitch is a huge concern considering the performances we have seen. Perhaps someone external needs to look at the structure of the club and give the Chairman independent advice. Leicester don’t want another summer of uncertainty and a shambles of a preseason. -
Watching Barnes last night he made a few mistakes but his running and work rate was streets ahead of most of the City players. He deserves the success he is having and the applause from the home fans.

After Daka hit both posts and into the hands of the keeper there was a sort of feeling night that nothing would change. Amazingly Leicester could have scored from the kick off with ironic cheers from the kop that we nearly scored. It could get worse with Liverpool at home next up.
-
I've always enjoyed watching Newcastle there is usually a bit of banter with the away fans and of course Harvey Barnes may be in their side always interesting to see how ex players react. I've got a few things to do in Leicester today so I'll be there tonight but if it is another game with 8 or 9 defenders essentially no changes and no goals scored I might leave it there for the season. I'll get behind the lads but need to see some effort and ambition. Just looking on the website at tickets there will be a lot of empty seats and totally understand why

Do everything we can to score a goal
Edingleyfox replied to tickler28's topic in Leicester City Forum
It would be nice if we don't set up with 8 defenders and at half time add another. I'm sure Newcastle will win whatever we do but concentrating on being solid/compact has done nothing to stem the tide so agree might as well at least show some ambition
