  1. FFS That's the MG side of our business. They are cheap for a reason. Sometimes, they're short staffed and us Nissan guys have to help out. Out of the 6 or 7 MG's I've sold, every single one has come back with a fault. The boss just goes "Oh yeah, that's a common fault" You get what you pay for. We've just bought a new Nissan Juke for the Mrs, it's lovely.
  2. It's that time of year again... For the first time ever, we're going out for it. The youngest two kids are going on holiday, so me, the Mrs, the eldest and the Mother-in-law are off out for lunch. All I need to worry about is choosing between Turkey, Beef Wellington or a rack of lamb. The lamb is currently winning. Might have to sneak in a pre-prepared tub of red cabbage though, am I right @FoxesDeb? What's everyone else doing?
  3. Here's a niche one for you all... Anyone got a bioethanol indoor fireplace? I want to open up our chimney breast and put a real fireplace in, but the Mrs won't let me. I'm usually proven to be correct on these matters, I'm still bitter over the white kitchen floor tiles she insisted on, yeah, great idea with a dog...anyway, I digress. Looking for something to go in the living room, doesn't really matter that much about the heat, just wondered if anyone has any experience with them. We've had work done on the house and made a feature out of the chimney breast, lovely fire surround and some funky tiles in it. Was exploring the idea of putting one of these in there.
  4. Thanks mate. It was a pleasure, hope she enjoys it
  5. I cut the shafts myself and my local shop regrips at no extra charge it you buy the grips from them. They're all TaylorMade, but only the driver has the adjustable head, I was toying with the idea of buying a 5 wood shaft to put in it, but just cut mine down as I've got a spare driver shaft if it all went wrong! It's 5 wood length, so I'm hitting much straighter and not losing too much distance. I play a very tight course, so I'm giving myself more of a chance by keeping the ball in play off the tee.
  6. I've gone full on Bryson with my woods. Driver, 3 wood and 5 wood all at 42.25 inches. Working wonderfully at the range. Beautiful Morikawa style baby fade with the driver, but still long. True test comes on the course tomorrow and it'll probably all go to shit The biggest advantage is that my clubs now fit in the boot of the car
  7. People are genuinely delusional. The most incredible one I've actually come across was a guy in his 50's, quite aggressive, part exchanging a 14 year old Nissan Navarra with over 100k on the clock. He was deadly serious and said "someone's offered me 15 grand for that on Facebook last night. You give me 14 and I'll buy your car" I just replied "Please tell me you mean 14 hundred and not 14 thousand?"" My boss had to invite the guy in to the office to show him the value of his car, he wasn't having it at all
  8. People. I just really don't understand some of them. I have the most insane conversations with customers on a daily basis. Here's a selection from the last few days... A woman bought a car from me, 3 months ago. It broke down and is in our workshop getting fixed, all under warranty. She told me "I don't think the car is worth the price I paid, give me discount or another car. Also, I need refunding for calling the AA because I forgot you gave me RAC cover" Sorry, doesn't work like that! Couple in on Sunday, looking at a new long range Nissan Leaf. Car is 35k, we have absolutely no margin in the vehicle at all if they buy on our 0% finance. However, if they pay 'cash', basically a bank loan, I can knock £11,000 off the price of the car. The woman walked away because we wouldn't chuck in anything free She literally said "well I don't want a car that doesn't come with mats". Seriously woman, I've given you ELEVEN THOUSAND POUNDS off a car. And by the way, I don't have a secret stash of mats laying around to give to people, they have to be paid for and are locked away in the parts department. A regular one is also "I see you've got this car for sale, you're quite a way from me, there's a garage local to me doing the same car a thousand pounds cheaper, any chance you could..." Absolutely not, why are you even talking to me if you can get it so much cheaper? The public are weird.
  9. I think it's great. And go easy on the owl. It would make a great calendar, one picture for every month. I'd buy that!
  10. And Penelope Pitstop
  11. Game on today. Could be a total reverse of yesterday. I don't know how I feel about the format. Strange that there's only 5 games a day for the first 2 days, then it goes more like the Ryder Cup over the weekend.
  12. Met a guy on a training course many years ago, introduced himself as Chegg. Turned out his real name was Scott. Also used to be a regular in one of the pubs I ran called Stuart Little. He was known as mouse.
  13. Danny Ward turned in to prime Lev Yashin.
  14. It's all very well having a thread on wanting him gone and how shit he is, but no fans in the stadium will do anything to call for him to be sacked.
  15. That's offensive to Joey Chestnut
  16. This is so shit. Yes, we've made 10 changes, but it's just so bad. Genuinely think I'm done until the manager changes. There's no identity to the club. I think for the first time in my life, I don't really give a fvck about them anymore.
  17. Well, this was nice. Won 160 quid from a £5 16-fold on the football. Withdrew £100 and did this Amazed that none of the 'experts' saw it coming. AJ is a complete bum.
  18. At the profit they make, I couldn't care less who buys one
  19. And just sold one!
  20. 60k
  21. New MG Cyberster has just landed. 0-62 in 3.2 seconds. Quite fun to drive!
  22. But you'd consider BYD?
  23. Acenta Premium. Utter dogshit. Basically manufactured solely for the purpose of Motability customers. Nobody has ever sold one retail.
  24. I'm more worried about the MG Cyberster coming in a couple of weeks. Most of the MG guys aren't old enough to be covered to drive it on the company insurance, so I'm sure I'll be out in that a few times. 496 BHP & 0-62 in 3.2 seconds
