Ideally I'd like to hear and see more from them. That doesn't help when we've declined massively and there's absolutely no communication. Whether thst would go anyway to soften the ramifications for what's happened I don't know but the silence and disconnect has made me very disillusioned with my club. Ideally I'd like to have seen changes made at board level to remedy the failings but the status quo remains untouched. If in time that proves to be successful then I'd unequivocally acknowledge that but that wait and see approach does not discount the validity of wanting a shake up. I find it astonishing there hasn't been.

That's fine but I'd be fascinated to know what would tip the balance for you to not defend them.

I remember @Tommy Fresh raving about this lad, he does look the bollocks.

I think at this stage it's time for any conflicts of interest to be presented. Are you associated with our club or a board member?

Yeah which is even more impressive but think it'll be a few years before we see them challenge the 1st team. Jake Evans might be one of those 16/17 year olds that breaks through at clubs. I suspect he's being scouted heavily by the usual mob already. -
If it's £20m we might. I don't see us spending that on more than 1 or 2 players but I think we'll spend £50-60m this summer + frees and loans.
-
What I mean by that is he's strong in every department but he's not a household name at all. He's more than capable of 20+ goals a season in a top league though.

He's the complete striker.

It's very much reputation based, we need to be more proactive and once we get a few out who do well then clubs look to the conveyor belt to do the same. I'd be fascinated to get insight from Rob Huth on this. -
You said he hasn't done well anywhere. That's incorrect. Even taking his time at Leicester in to account is complex to judge but let's say he was extremely poor here, he got his move here based on a very good season at Copenhagen and in the Champions League and last season at Bologna he was excellent. It's not out of the realms of possibility he can be a success here.

I wonder if we might have to move another one as well if we're buying one or two of theirs.

Hear me out.....

The problem with Fofana is he's another who got his big move on the back of playing in a front two. He reminds me of Patson Daka in many ways. Slightly different attributes but neither possess the all round game to play the lone striker role at the highest level IMO. If we could guarantee Daka was off though then I'd be happy with Fofana as his replacement. I'd still want another main striker though.

Still think there's scope for two attacking midfielders to challenge the 1st team. I also think Alves will be used out wide rather than centrally at rhe very highest level.

Leo Castledine or Bashir Humphreys would be an excellent addition. £8-10m covers their KDH outlay for 23/24

There's some extremely promising talent coming through. Jake Evans appears to be destined to go right to the very top but he's only 16. The U16s won their age group in England last season. Jeremy Monga, Lorenz Hutchinson, Will Lawrence are all impressive. I've probably missed other's. In the U18s/U21s I'm interested to see what happens with Silko Thomas and Logan Briggs next season. Silko is ready for a loan to the lower leagues and I think he can make it eventually at a higher level. Briggs, like Alves is extremely gifted and a loan to League One would be beneficial to him. Others have said, Mirsad Ali who's a left footed defender / midfielder could kick on and make it too. We've not had too much success bringing through strikers in recent years but Kirsten Otchere did really well for the U18s last season and Josh King if he can stay fit. -
Yeah the loan fee would be something daft like £5-7m

He did dominate the U21s in a very disrupted season last year. Almost every game was either an assist or a goal which was far more than he did prior to his injury. He's outgrown U21 level. Ideally a loan to a top League One or Championship club would be ideal but we are likely to have glaring gaps in our 25 man squad this season if we try and comply with PSR so he may well need to be kept and hopefully blooded. -

The issue is we won't loan out Alves if he doesn't commit to a new deal but then we might well force him in to running his contract down and leaving for free. -
I said yesterday, I wonder whether Brighton would pay the wages KDH is already on. He'll be on £75k a week or more I'd imagine, that's why it'll take a big 6 club for him to go.

Humphreys, Castledine, Chukwuemeka

This has to be our priority, it would be incredibly galling to lose him. Braybrooke's only got another year on top of that so he needs a new 3-4 year deal minimum. Build our team around this pair. -
Very good pick up for them that is.

I still think that represents poor business. If we need a squad filler that isn't a carefully scouted young and dynamic player then Moder's teammate Steven Alzate is available on a free. Moder isn't much better than Alzate.
