  1. There'll be plenty of managers who'll take it as the pressure is off.
  2. Afraid so, could see it coming from a mile off when he went there at the same time as Enzo starting making noises he'd been misled.
  3. Permanent transfers don't but loans wouldn't be as big a problem.
  4. I could actually see him and Daka swapping places for a season on loan.
  5. The compensation would be spread over 3 years anyway (what we'd probably give the manager). I've read the compensation is £2m, which is less than £700k in 2023/24 accounts and we'll get all of Enzo's and staffs compensation in this year's accounts.
  6. Is the embargo we are currently under extended to non-playing football staff too?
  7. That would be paradise for me if we never played football ever again. Almost all of life's stresses evaporate when Leicester aren't busy dictating the outcome of my mental health.
  8. Yes. My response was to the poster who wondered whether Chelsea wanted this to be from 1st July 2024 for PSR reasons and we wanted it before 30th June. For us that would be beneficial as the full compensation would be recognised in 2023/24, but for Chelsea it would be £10m across 5 years, so would only be saving £2m in 23/24 by delaying to 1st July.
  9. It's a curious one, there's an article today that said he was already trying to bring in a set piece coach at Leicester for when we were in the PL. The development coach (Roberto Vitiello) is who was supposed to be coming in as assistant manager last summer to us, who he had with him at Parma but think there were issues with his visa. That role is interesting, possibly something he was alluding to in what needed to change at Leicester too.
  10. That's how all players and staff that cost a fee are amortised across their contract. Chelsea did pull a stunt where they used to spread them over 7-8 years but that got stopped.
  11. Very conflicting reports on that, was more his staff he had issues with (and the board). PSV fans have said he got players who'd die for him early on, but it did seem to tail off when Madueke and Gakpo were sold.
  12. The compensation they pat us would be spread over 5 years in their accounts anyway. Only will the income we get will be fully realised when it goes through.
  13. Touch of the Ampadu's about him. Two relegation in two loan spells and two parent clubs not arsed about him.
  14. It's going to be interesting what could be available from Chelsea. I can't see where the following get a sniff next season: Sanchez, Kepa, Chalobah, Sarr, Chilwell, Humphreys (big fan), Ugochukwu, Santos, Chukwuemeka, Moreira, Washington, Datro Fofana, Broja, Maatsen, Angelo, Lukaku, Hutchinson The player I'd most like to see us look at is Leo Castledine from their academy. Hutchinson will go for a trumped up price this summer with various add ons or clauses IMO.
  15. Weren't we linked with him two years ago? Edited to say, yes we were https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/leicester-city-double-transfer-claim-7836163
  16. If he was transferring from England to another country based on the last year or two he's had then it would be a loan with an option or a massively reduced fee. If we entertain anything different to that we're silly.
  17. Good, rinse and repeat.
  18. I think by not having a perceived proper DOF, the fresh impetus of a new manager every year or two perhaps isn't a bad thing. Success is largely dependent on hitting the ground running and positively effecting the playing squad before a malaise or familiarity sets in and a drop off. It can be done.
  19. That last comment is important. It seems he had some issues with his staff at PSV and would likely be rebuilding his team around him at his next club. He'd have to do that here, there'll be nobody left except Ben Petty.
  20. Just watched it and backs up what I remembered of him. Strong 1 v 1 wingers but creates combinations that enables at least one winger (the LW) to go inside with support from an attacking full back. Slightly different to Enzo at Leicester although Justin did occasionally create that pattern. Ruud's PSV deployed an 8 in a deeper role rather than push up with just one holding midfielder, which is interesting when they had a player as strong as Sangare but I think would be key to us surviving in the Prem. If we could find a CM who can go box to box and help both the holding midfielder and create going forward then that would be ideal. Veerman is a class act. What's most interesting is the utilisation of attacking crosses in to the box, not dissimilar to Enzo but with different types of physical players in De Jong and Til as opposed to the likes of Daka/Vardy and KDH. I suppose Ndidi was able to provide some of that blind side attacking. I'd be extremely excited to see RVN with Fatawu and Alves, a player I think he could get 1st season gains like he did with Xavi Simons.
  21. Possibly, but Enzo referenced we tried to appoint him when Rodgers left and he said no. We then spent a few weeks recruiting a new manager when Smith left and it wasn't just a case of immediately offering and agreeing it with Enzo again. Conversations may have been had hypothetically and now it seems he's going that it's back on the table.
  22. Hmmmmm I'm not so sure. Maybe not to Chelsea but could our board have been proactive for once if it seemed a genuine possibility he could be off this summer?
  23. RVN plays very similar possession based football to Enzo.
  24. Got some similarities to Enzo in wingers being put in 1 v 1 situations as much as possible. Prefers possession based football to control games but he will look to deploy fast attacking 4-3-3 football. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/3509301/2022/08/16/ruud-van-nistelrooy-psv/
  25. My interests in him are the players he has developed and helped bring through from their academy. As you say his season at PSV was about par for the course, did win a cup though too.
