Him, Mavididi and Winks crying out for thr international break.

But might still be close enough to 3rd that you'd want to get 6th in the semi's rather than have to play West Brom who'll likely get 5th.

Leicester 1-0 Sunderland Post Match Thread.

If Enzo tries to defend that performance after we took the lead then he's pulling plonkers. That said, we needed a win by any means. That makes up for the scandal of Leeds. I think we so badly need the international break, if we can get a result on Saturday and free wheel in the FA Cup in the sense that we've a 2 week break then it's very timely for us. We're dealing with Leeds who have won 10 in 11 and Ipswich who have won 6 on the spin. We just have to dig in and build our own run which will then put huge pressure on them to keep up (one of them won't if we do that). -
Hull have been massively disappointing in recent games, a very strange team really. Got plenty of ability to cause us problems and it seems the teams that do well against us, do well against us in both games so we could well be in for an unpleasant weekend once again. Let's hope we can break that cycle. Coady has to stay in, would drop Faes for Vestergaard.

Their desire and ability to keep pushing and not be tempted to play it safe is why they give themselves a chance. It's relentless football. I'm now unable to get too angry with them as this is how I'd want us to attempt to play when chasing a game but we wouldn't be able to apply this intensity. The automatic promotion race is going to be highly pressurised now, was essential we got over the line tonight and we should take huge confidence that we've been able to. But it counts for very little if we don't kick on now.

No, barely been drinking of late due to health issues. Might have to put a few tins away.

Same, I've already started the nervous shiver and dry mouth.

Remember in December when nearly every game we scored 2+ goals in quick succession after half time. What we could do with one of those tonight to get this game done and dusted for us. Doyle has been excellent, Coady solid too.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Ric Flair replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Started paying more for players (presumably in an attempt to minimise risk on less unproven players) and paying more in wages from the off. Culminated in us being no more successful in these players doing well for us and lumbered with them on huge wages. -

I think it'll come crashing down soon, but in the meantime many clubs will be hit. Fingers crossed we navigate through it without long term impact to our ability to be competitive in the top 2 divisions. -

Yes, these new rules are harsh. However, at the time it seemed to impact us in 2022 it was only relevant to those who qualify for Europe. We hadn't done at that point having finished 8th and although we harboured ambitions to be back there ASAP, our wage bill was not sustainable even on the old rules (UEFA or otherwise). We essentially had to qualify for Europe every season to maintain the wage structure and have a bit of wriggle room for new signings. I've little sympathy for us, we made many mistakes. I didn't like our change in approach to what we'd been successful at in the first place. -

I'm not so sure, we'd done the damage in terms of our wage structure before FFP was altered. We are victims of being successful, then after having steadied the ship we went on to challenge the elite again and got caught up in trying to keep up. We've been financially snookered for the last 2-3 years as a result. -

Because relegation would have had minimal impact on the 2022/23 accounts. That mess is to come in 2023/24. -

It's very very naive to think there isn't a strong possibility this could be close to the truth. We were already pretty close hence the summer of 2022. We then got relegated, had to sell Maddison before the accounting period and we've then been told we've got FFP issues this winter. Buckle up, many of us feared this could happen. -

If we have failed FFP in 2022/23 despite selling Fofana and Maddison in that accounting period then it is beyond belief. -
Development/Youth Squads 2023/2024 Thread - U18/U21
Ric Flair replied to Ryy's topic in Leicester City Forum
The coverage of the U21s this season has been utterly shocking. I get @Kilworthfox points about the other age groups (even though some clubs do publicise the other academy teams much more than we do) but the club used to be pretty engaging about our U21s and showed live games, that's a distant memory. -

Them being the absolute pits, with various injuries is not a positive for us over the years. So many examples of us being the gift that keeps on giving. Just look at the Middlesborough result. They'd not won in 9 I think it was, had loads of players missing and beat us. They've since returned to being abysmal again. I'd rather Jack Clarke was available and they'd won 4 on the spin. -

The purists would snigger but I guarantee you we'd have created more with him up front and Albrighton on the right in the final 20 minutes on Saturday than we did trying to lob a sausage down Gallowtree Gate. -
