Because they aren’t using him either way. He’s not even getting in their U23s regularly, so best to have him at least playing games at some form of level rather than sat around the place doing nothing. I imagine he will play at some point for our U23s.
-
He isn’t replacing Ayew or Daka unfortunately. He’s nowhere near the level required for league 2, never mind a team in the championship. He’ll be cover for the U23s. A bizarre signing all around, especially when the first team actually needs a striker.

Ruud wasn’t a bad manager. He was brought into the club with the aim of staying in the premier league. To do this he was given a below-standard championship squad who were all earning well over what they should have been, and a general attitude of “we’re too good to be here” (they weren’t) or “we don’t want to be here”. He tried to sort the attitude problem out e.g. he tried to make Harry Winks stay over at the training ground for one night a week and was met with disgust and dismay. No manager in world football would have kept us up. He was destined to fail. He was given a task to complete and told to complete it with no tools, no help and a pathetic group of so called “football players”.

Chants against the manager, chants against Rudkin, and yet the guy actually in charge of it all and ultimately responsible for ruining the club gets nothing. This is why nothing will change. Things are going to get a lot worse until he’s bankrupted us.
-
Means we’ll be run into the ground even faster now with Rudkin and the nepo baby allowed to do what they want. Awful news for the club.
-
King Power have received no in-person negativity from the fans. All negativity gets aimed at the players, the manager, Rudkin etc. For all Aiyawaat knows we all love him. It’s time to start getting vocal.
-
Nothing will change under the nepo baby’s ownership. Our only hope as a club is that his Mum tells him to sell us as King Power don’t want to be associated with a league 1 club.

Could we get actually get relegated again this season?
Walkerfox replied to Bevan's topic in Leicester City Forum
We won’t this season, our decline will be slower than that. We’ll stay up for now but the more king power suck both the money and life out of the club, the worse we will get. Put it this way, I’d be far more surprised if we were in the premier league in a few seasons time than if we were in league 1. It’s inevitable at this point under this ownership. -
I’d just give it to Fatawu for a laugh to be honest. He’s already gained our hearts, why not the captaincy as well? He’s one of the only likeable players we have at the minute so I wouldn’t want it going to anyone else anyway. Realistically though, It’ll probably be Hamza. He shouldn’t even be anywhere near the squad, let alone the armband but oh well.
-
Why did both the shirt and shorts look massive on the players? Surely I’m not imagining this?
-
Why should we get behind O’Neill or Wilder if they come in? What have they done to warrant our support? Neither of them should be anywhere near a club of our size, they just aren’t at our level. They’re the type of managers who the likes of Norwich and Stoke should be after. A lot of us aren’t stupid, we can see what’s going to happen a mile off if we appoint one of them. I knew as soon as Cooper was appointed we were getting relegated, so I didn’t support him once. I wanted him gone from day one because there was no hope of him doing well. If it’s Wilder or O’Neill I’ll think exactly the same. They aren’t good enough to manage us.
-
Not sure there’s ever been a starting 11 where I’ve disliked so many of the players.
-
This is going beyond incompetence and is starting to look like actual sabotage. Is there anything at all that King Power would gain from the rapid decline of the club and the devaluing of an asset? Can they somehow get money out of this?
-
I’m not sure I’ve ever felt this hopeless in regards to the club. We’ve become nothing more than a memorial to a billionaire, whilst his son watches our decline and laughs. King Power are going to sit back and watch this club crumble, and they’re going to be met with applause each time they do so. I really don’t see how things change.

How does this team do in the Championship?
Walkerfox replied to hejammy's topic in Leicester City Forum
A lot are overestimating the quality of the championship. We’ll be nowhere near the bottom next season. It’s laughable to suggest we’ll get relegated again. We’ll do very well, purely because of the left over quality in the squad and yet again, it will mask the real problems within the club. Top will see this and being the big dumb dumb he is, will assume that we’re back on track (again). It’s annoying how predictable we are. It’s a fantastic opportunity to rebuild the squad, bring through the promising youth players we have, clear out the money grabbing journeymen we’ve acquired and bring in promising players with a lot to prove. We won’t do this though. We’ll hang around the top of the table with players like Jordan Ayew and Yannick Vestergaard and be encouraged by the dominating performances against footballing titans Walsall and Preston. This is the Leicester City we’ll come to know over the next few years. Hooray. -
Please don’t take that personally. As I’ve said, well done for actually doing something and organising it! All credit to you for that. I do think it could have been better utilised to get a broader point across and slightly less abusive towards one single man, but it’s action we’ve needed for a while so hopefully a step in the right direction.
-
Disappointing that the van is aimed at one very specific issue (and one single man) within the running of the club, rather than the running of the club as a whole and the treatment of fans. If it ends up alongside the protest though then hopefully it simply adds to the message that we aren’t happy with how those that run the club are operating. Regardless, well done to those involved in organising it. I really hope we start to see some change after today.
-
I’m glad this is happening but I hope it’s directed at King Power and not just Rudkin. Rudkin is an employee, he’s a cog in a much larger machine. If the whole protest is against one single man then unfortunately it’ll turn into an abusive witch hunt and will only be seen negatively by both the fans not part of the protest, fans of other clubs and the media. It’ll get nowhere. The issue is his employers and the company who’s running the club Into the ground with pathetic management both on and off the pitch.
-
One PR focused, basic accounting exercise and we’re back to square one . Even that project restart has back peddled and is now supporting him and only aiming things at those lower than him. Top isn’t restructuring the entire club, it’s delusional to think so. He will not do anything because he doesn’t have the intelligence/awareness. He is not his Dad. He has no business acumen, no drive, he’s totally and completely incompetent. Because of this, he turns to someone who he thinks knows what he is doing… John Rudkin. It’s Rudkin or nothing with him. That’s why him and King Power need to go.
-
As others have said, chants need to be directed at Top and King Power (although I concede this is unlikely with our soft fan base). Chanting for Rudkin to go is fun, but it’s a bit like going to the supermarket and screaming at the teenager behind the till whilst their manager sits in the office with their feet up. It doesn’t really get to the root of the issue.
-
People getting angry at a guy who got offered a job way above his level on money he’s probably never earned before. I don’t blame him for taking it. It’s no surprise. It’s like signing a league 1 player and being baffled when he doesn’t look good in the premier league. We need King Power out. They’ve ruined our club and use it as nothing more than a place to advertise for free and probably store some money.
-
I’m in the home end for this and I am WORRIED.
-
It’s hard to be Cooper out because I was never Cooper in. It isn’t a surprise that we don’t look very good under Steve cooper, a manager who’s been a youth coach, an OK championship manager and a failed PL manager. Most of us fans could have told you what was going to happen before he was even appointed. I’m not really sure where we go from here though. The people in charge of the club don’t know anything about football and won’t budge so we’re stuck in this weird state of occasionally stumbling onto some good form (see last season) and occasionally being absolutely horrific (relegation and probably this season). We don’t have the owners to implement a strategic plan like Villa for example, so we just have to hope we keep accidentally getting some things right. It’s a strange one. I suppose the ultimate goal is for King Power to sell up but until then, we’re just going to keep plodding along down the path of mediocrity.
-
That’s a massive risk though and completely unsustainable is it not? You’d be relying on every single young, inexperienced manager to come in, hit the ground running and be hugely successful (at least enough to push us up the league). Maresca was a risk given his previous, small stint in management was a disaster. Thankfully it paid off, but how many times would that genuinely happen?
-
I usually hate the argument of “but who else would come?” But in this case, who would genuinely want to work for us as a club? Whoever comes in has no choice but to work under the donkey that is John Rudkin and any manager with any sense (see Potter in the summer) will stay far away. Anyone could see this coming a mile off. Cooper shouldn’t be anywhere near a premier league club. The issue is way deeper than just a bad hire. Sack Cooper and you get someone just as cheap, because those in charge of selecting a manager have the combined football knowledge of a potato and won’t budge from their positions one bit. The club is lost at the moment.
