I’m not sure I’ve ever felt this hopeless in regards to the club. We’ve become nothing more than a memorial to a billionaire, whilst his son watches our decline and laughs. King Power are going to sit back and watch this club crumble, and they’re going to be met with applause each time they do so. I really don’t see how things change.

How does this team do in the Championship?
Walkerfox replied to hejammy's topic in Leicester City Forum
A lot are overestimating the quality of the championship. We’ll be nowhere near the bottom next season. It’s laughable to suggest we’ll get relegated again. We’ll do very well, purely because of the left over quality in the squad and yet again, it will mask the real problems within the club. Top will see this and being the big dumb dumb he is, will assume that we’re back on track (again). It’s annoying how predictable we are. It’s a fantastic opportunity to rebuild the squad, bring through the promising youth players we have, clear out the money grabbing journeymen we’ve acquired and bring in promising players with a lot to prove. We won’t do this though. We’ll hang around the top of the table with players like Jordan Ayew and Yannick Vestergaard and be encouraged by the dominating performances against footballing titans Walsall and Preston. This is the Leicester City we’ll come to know over the next few years. Hooray. -
Please don’t take that personally. As I’ve said, well done for actually doing something and organising it! All credit to you for that. I do think it could have been better utilised to get a broader point across and slightly less abusive towards one single man, but it’s action we’ve needed for a while so hopefully a step in the right direction.
-
Disappointing that the van is aimed at one very specific issue (and one single man) within the running of the club, rather than the running of the club as a whole and the treatment of fans. If it ends up alongside the protest though then hopefully it simply adds to the message that we aren’t happy with how those that run the club are operating. Regardless, well done to those involved in organising it. I really hope we start to see some change after today.
-
I’m glad this is happening but I hope it’s directed at King Power and not just Rudkin. Rudkin is an employee, he’s a cog in a much larger machine. If the whole protest is against one single man then unfortunately it’ll turn into an abusive witch hunt and will only be seen negatively by both the fans not part of the protest, fans of other clubs and the media. It’ll get nowhere. The issue is his employers and the company who’s running the club Into the ground with pathetic management both on and off the pitch.

One PR focused, basic accounting exercise and we’re back to square one . Even that project restart has back peddled and is now supporting him and only aiming things at those lower than him. Top isn’t restructuring the entire club, it’s delusional to think so. He will not do anything because he doesn’t have the intelligence/awareness. He is not his Dad. He has no business acumen, no drive, he’s totally and completely incompetent. Because of this, he turns to someone who he thinks knows what he is doing… John Rudkin. It’s Rudkin or nothing with him. That’s why him and King Power need to go.
-
As others have said, chants need to be directed at Top and King Power (although I concede this is unlikely with our soft fan base). Chanting for Rudkin to go is fun, but it’s a bit like going to the supermarket and screaming at the teenager behind the till whilst their manager sits in the office with their feet up. It doesn’t really get to the root of the issue.

People getting angry at a guy who got offered a job way above his level on money he’s probably never earned before. I don’t blame him for taking it. It’s no surprise. It’s like signing a league 1 player and being baffled when he doesn’t look good in the premier league. We need King Power out. They’ve ruined our club and use it as nothing more than a place to advertise for free and probably store some money.
-
I’m in the home end for this and I am WORRIED.
-
It’s hard to be Cooper out because I was never Cooper in. It isn’t a surprise that we don’t look very good under Steve cooper, a manager who’s been a youth coach, an OK championship manager and a failed PL manager. Most of us fans could have told you what was going to happen before he was even appointed. I’m not really sure where we go from here though. The people in charge of the club don’t know anything about football and won’t budge so we’re stuck in this weird state of occasionally stumbling onto some good form (see last season) and occasionally being absolutely horrific (relegation and probably this season). We don’t have the owners to implement a strategic plan like Villa for example, so we just have to hope we keep accidentally getting some things right. It’s a strange one. I suppose the ultimate goal is for King Power to sell up but until then, we’re just going to keep plodding along down the path of mediocrity.
-
That’s a massive risk though and completely unsustainable is it not? You’d be relying on every single young, inexperienced manager to come in, hit the ground running and be hugely successful (at least enough to push us up the league). Maresca was a risk given his previous, small stint in management was a disaster. Thankfully it paid off, but how many times would that genuinely happen?
-
I usually hate the argument of “but who else would come?” But in this case, who would genuinely want to work for us as a club? Whoever comes in has no choice but to work under the donkey that is John Rudkin and any manager with any sense (see Potter in the summer) will stay far away. Anyone could see this coming a mile off. Cooper shouldn’t be anywhere near a premier league club. The issue is way deeper than just a bad hire. Sack Cooper and you get someone just as cheap, because those in charge of selecting a manager have the combined football knowledge of a potato and won’t budge from their positions one bit. The club is lost at the moment.

Leicester v Villa Match Thread 31/8/2024
Walkerfox replied to ozleicester's topic in Leicester City Forum
Playing for a 0-0 draw always works out well doesn’t it Horrible team selection. -
I’m glad that a few on here seem to share my thoughts on this. Sack cooper if you want, but he isn’t the problem. Top is the cause, Rudkin and cooper are the effect. A good manager will want a proper footballing operation in place. We can’t offer that as we have an incompetent director of football who seemingly wants to keep his power and run what was once a competitive premier league club into the ground. We’re therefore stuck with yes men and managers who just want a nice pay packet until we somehow get those running the club out. Sack cooper, we end up with a clone who isn’t any different. As fans, we need to voice our displeasure at king power and hopefully give Top the wake up call he needs or convince him to do one. That’s the only way we see real change.
-
He seems to feed off momentum. If he’s under pressure and the crowd is quiet, he shies away from the game. If the atmosphere is buzzing and he’s got the crowd behind him, he’ll throw everything he’s got into it. Almost like he needs that adrenaline boost to perform.
-
I can’t build up any hate for cooper. He shouldn’t be here, end of. It’s not his fault he’s been hired, he’s a football manager who was looking for a job. It was said on here at the time that this was a deliberate appointment by Rudkin so that he could keep his power. Potter would have come, but wanted someone with actual football knowledge to come in and give the club direction, something that Rudkin didn’t want. As fans, we need to do everything we possibly can to get king power out of this club, or at least wake up and see that this current sh*t show requires people overseeing football operations who, you know, know things about football. We need to boo, we need to chant about king power and Rudkin, we need to show our displeasure. I worry that so many of the match going fans are apathetic to the whole situation though.
-
Anyone know why Aston Villa get “authentic” and normal versions of their adidas shirts? Thought that was only for the rich 6. Surely it can’t just be for the one season they’re in the champions league?
-
Looks like we might be playing dirty. Offer way below the asking price but unsettle the player enough for him to kick up a fuss. I’m all for it!

Concerns about the direction of the club
Walkerfox replied to Lambert09's topic in Leicester City Forum
Nothing will change unfortunately until King Power sell up which could be decades. We’re run as a play thing and accessory by a rich boy who tragically inherited Daddy’s billions yet none of his business acumen. He’s got his little opportunistic brown-nosing weasel who has no right being in the position he’s in to applaud every decision he makes, creating a cycle of incompetence with zero accountability. They don’t care about the fans anymore, they won’t listen to us no matter what we say or chant or put up on banners, so it’s best to just sit back, not take it too seriously, watch some football and occasionally we might have some success that we can enjoy (that’ll be in spite of our owners, not because of them). The golden era of competing with the big boys in the premier league and in Europe is long over which hurts, but that’s just the way it is. Back to normal I suppose if you look at the entire history of the club. -
Signing players who aren’t good enough and calling them “squad signings” is a worrying trend.
-
It gets to me because it highlights everything wrong with Tops priorities in regards to the club. I knew he’d be down there straight away to get his hands in that trophy he’s done nothing to earn. Instead of actually running the club he owns (or paying someone to run it properly for him) he neglects us, leaves us with his little lap dog running the football side of things and flashes us around his mates and his country where no one actually cares about us. He has no interest in the actual football or us fans. Leicester city football club is basically an expensive suit or a car he can show off to his equally rich friends. I’ve disliked him ever since his negligence relegated us and his immediate reaction was to parade the squad around Thailand in some kind of North Korea style propaganda trip where he had “fans” (definitely not paid actors) screaming and crying at meeting footballing elites such as… Hamza Choudhury. He just needs to do one.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
Walkerfox replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
As embarrassing as it is, would one of our “mitigating circumstances” not be that we didn’t actually gain any advantage from over spending? Would that not count for something the fact that we dropped out of the league? -
Our club captain is a criminal 😂 Tells you all you need to know about our club right now.
-
He’ll be a good player, but we were absolutely the wrong club to join. He needs to be developing much lower down the footballing pyramid with much lower stakes. We needed players to come in, make an instant impact and win the league with us. We simply don’t have time to be developing other club’s talents. 19 year olds who need game time to get used to the men’s game should be nowhere near our squad. It’s Chelsea’s fault to be fair.
