Maybe not for one for this season but for next summer but keep an eye out on Harvey Broad, Left back at AFC Fylde currently on loan from Cov, contract runs out in the summer and has scored 3 goals in 3 games so far.

This is a decent striker at championship level, not a world beater but a very very competent striker at that level so as loan in league one and at 28 years old this is a very sensible and sound signing. I saw him play a fair few times for PNE and he always looked lively and involved. Also knows where the back of the net is, too many basing their opinions on one game at King Power stadium when he missed the penalty against us.

Good news, far too comfortable here, been here so long and despite us dropping like a stone he has never been a regular starter. Another big earner off the books

I hope you are right, but my PTSD from previous seasons particularly last season, suggests once the window shuts these players tend to lose any motivation and the performance levels drop off massively, whilst the morale and atmosphere amongst the squad tanks.

The concern for me this is the mirror of last season, a number of players who had checked out or wanted away. High earners that had lost the motivation to play here, however we failed to move them on and they had to be reintegrated into the squad and look what happened. The atmosphere turned very toxic and we ended up relegated. We are now in league one and allegedly the culture and atmosphere has improved significantly since RM came in, the risk is that is undone once the players who are in the departure lounge, have to be reintegrated. massive 2 days ahead, Souttar may well have played well on Saturday but if he doesn’t get the move he is expecting like others we could be left with a lot of unhappy, disinterested and disillusioned players bleeding the club dry on unsustainable wages.

He is another right sided centre back so think he would be the direct replacement for Souttar/Okoli if he they leave. In my opinion we would still need a left sided centre half.

We desperately need a left footed/sided centre back, think for that reason we see Jonathan Panzo as one of the new signings.

Let’s hope BEK gets a move in the next couple of days and we bag a decent amount of cash from the sell on.

Massive couple of days ahead for not only Martin’s future but possibly the future of the club, if we fail to move on the likes of Faes, Souttar, Choudhury, Okoli, Skipp, Mavididi & Coulibaly and do not add 2 CB’s a midfielder and a striker then we are in big trouble. I would not be shocked if RM walked within weeks and we are stuck with an inbalanced squad and a group of highly paid disengaged wantaways who will need to be reintegrated to the squad. The atmosphere and culture will be toxic and we will be staring down the barrel. We really do need to see 3 or 4 move out in the next 24 hours to stand any chance of ensuring the swamp is fully drained and we have time to bring the numbers and quality we need to push on. Huge test of McCarron’s abilities and also what weight, influence and control he actually has to make things happen at pace. Posters talk about the high churn of players this summer but in reality we have not seen a high profile / notable departure for about 3 weeks now which is concerning.

Look at Spurs spent an absolute fortune and still problems persist. It’s not going to be easy to turn this oil tanker around and especially when there is 6 of 7 more who need to go and at least 3 or 4 new signings

I understand that but that doesn’t mean that the recruitment has been done under his control there is still massive gaps in the squad. I guarantee he will desperately want a proven striker, however if the club cannot land one then he has to make do with makeshift options like Cullen and BDCR. I have no doubt he has some significant and say in incomings however I am not so sure he is in control as to when they come in and also I am not sure he has much sway on outgoings. It’s clear as day if a bid comes in that meets the hierarchy’s valuation then they will be sold, whoever it is.

I don’t disagree that his team selections haven’t always been what we would have hoped for. Watson did well on Tuesday whilst Alves has been decent in first two games IMO was a 50/50 decision. I agree Bristric has to start as he is our only genuine number 9 but won’t be able to play 50 games will need rotation etc but we need to have a credible option, Cullen and BDCR are not that. Aluko is a funny one, it would have been a very very brave decision to go with two full backs again as his CB pairing, in fairness the clean sheet probably just about justifies that decision, although Aluko was unlucky to miss out.

I honestly think he is getting the brunt of the frustration that is a hangover from the previous seasons and really should be directed at others who are responsible and accountable for where we find ourselves. I will say it again up to 7 need to go and 4 minimum need to come in and one has to be a starting CB and one has to be a proven striker that is not on Martin.

I understand the frustrations but I think he deserves longer than this, also the squad is still very much a work in progress, there is at least another 6, 7 even 8 players who need to leave and we desperately need 3 or 4 new signings including another starting CB and a starting striker who is capable of bagging 15-20 goals this season. I am sure Martin would love the transfer business to have been done and dusted before the season kicked off but unfortunately for whatever reason, it’s going to go down to the wire on Tuesday to try and get rid of the deadwood and plug the glaring gaps in the squad…… can McCarron and Rudkin get the necessary work done in the next 3 and a half days, the clock is ticking.

They are still here because whoever is interested hasn’t yet met the valuation the club has placed on them. That isn’t Martin’s fault, and it isn’t his fault that the squad he needs isn’t in place. That is the point I am trying to make. have a go at him about playing style, substitutions etc but people having a moan about him trying to be professional and positive about players who are still here and also about the failure to move players on and bring players in are venting their frustration at the wrong person in my opinion.

He will be selecting them because he is being asked to include them to maintain leverage when in it comes to maximising transfer fees. I get it people don’t like him or his football, but getting wound up by this stuff just seems unnecessary. Other posters have already said he is pretty hard on players like Thomas, like I say what he says to the media and behind closed doors is probably very different.

How can he not say anything about certain plaiyers if he is asked a direct question about them? I get you don’t like him, I get you can’t stand certain players based on past performances etc but getting at the new manager over it seems like your anger is directed at the wrong person.
