  1. Could not agree more and here lies the problem when the likes of Thomas, Souttar, Okoli and Skipp are the left back, central defenders and CDM. Players technically bereft and incapable of moving the ball at pace or breaking any kind of lines to beat the opposition press. This is why Cullen has looked largely ineffective against Northampton and Notts County, because whenever he did take up good positions, these players are incapable of making the required pass competently or quickly enough to benefit. For that reason the club has to support Martin and bring in a new central defender, one who can play out from then back, however Martin can also help himself by replacing Thomas with McFarlane, drop Skipp and move Braybrooke into the 6, with either Chaplin or Howell coming into the more advanced midfielder role alongside Cullen.
  2. Wonder how frustrated he is getting at our inability to shift out the deadwood and wantaways and expecting him to get a tune out of a squad that is horrifically lacking in centre half’s capable of playing his style and another striker to shoulder the goalscoring burden with Bristric. Russell has been a breath of fresh air and the change in culture and standards is there for all to see, however I do wonder what impact the likes of Souttar, Faes, Mavididi et al will have on the overall atmosphere at the club and also Martin’s own ability to stamp his authority on the club and playing style if McCarron, Rudkin and Aiyawatt are unable to get outgoing deals done and dusted pronto. Don’t know about anyone else but it’s certainly starting to drain my enthusiasm, I am starting to get last season vibes, where our inability to shift certain players became a millstone to the manager who was trying to change the culture and atmosphere around the place.
  3. Game is showing as postponed on footmob. is it down to our lack of strikers, apparently playing our centre forward from the U8’s is not allowed 😂
  4. Hmmmm heard similar about others but unfortunately I will judge based on what I see in the pitch and in the case of Souttar and so many before him, he doesn’t want to be here and is going through the motions and trying to avoid injury.
  5. Anyone else noticed it’s been a very quiet week on the socials, don’t think there has been one training video all week, which is a little strange this early on in the season
  6. I really hope we can move him on, his performances against both Northampton and Notts County were enough to tell me he was in self preservation mode and wants out, whilst he may not be throwing his toys out of the pram to force the clubs hand, he also clearly isn’t committed to the club or playing this season in league one. We really need to be active and get something agreed with interested clubs that works for all parties involved. Hanging on to him will end in tears for us.
  7. Puma have produced some cracking kits since we moved to adidas, if we are moving suppliers i am surprised we haven’t looked at rekindling the partnership.
  8. We have to get back to the high pressing, front footed football on Saturday, the last 3 we haven’t really looked anywhere near as threatening. As Ric says hopefully Bobby will be dropped and we will see a more high energy performance as last 2 have been pretty lacklustre. I am really concerned that there has been nothing in the way of outgoings for a couple of weeks now and we still have 5/6 that really need moving on to ensure we have a complete reset, I am getting similar vibes to last season, where we had a few players in and around the squad that didn’t want to be here and it created a very negative atmosphere which had catastrophic consequences on our season. McCarron and Rudkin have got some serious work to do otherwise I can see Russell having a very challenging job ahead especially if he is expected to integrate these players into his matchday squad.
  9. Ahhhh yes forgot his Dad was Brett Ormerod
  10. I agree entirely rules are an absolute mess, however Spurs make a fortune from the concerts, NFL and boxing events they hold at their stadium. Commercially they are superb. Yes we can bemoan PSR as fundamental to our demise, but let’s not pretend that we are a commercially savvy club, we had so many missed opportunities to be innovative, creative new streams of commercial revenues, instead we built a 100m training ground and whilst signing sponsorship deals with betting/crypto sites like FBS and BC Game. Our commercial operations have been lazy and uninspiring, very little creative thinking or innovation. Whereas Spurs despite being bang average at best on the pitch, are arguably best in class off the pitch. In short had we shelved the training ground and proceeded with the stadium expansion, hotel, arena etc I think we would be in a very different place commercially and financially as a club and this is coming from someone who actually appreciates Seagrave as a world class facility, however as a club we needed to increase commercial revenues to create more PSR headroom, then further down the road build the new training ground.
  11. Danny Ormerod from AFC Fylde. I have been banging this drum since last season,, young, top quality and would be reasonably priced, no risk signing with a huge sell on potential
  12. Exciting mate, although last time I recall you doing this was when we announced Steve Cooper as Manager, so whilst you definitely get the inside track on stuff, it’s not always good news 😂😂
  13. Hope you runners don’t mind me posting this on this thread. The page is live… one final push. 🖤🩵 I’ve officially signed up for my fourth and final Prostate United challenge, 5km every day throughout October for Prostate Cancer UK The support over the last three years has been incredible, helping us raise more than £13,000. This year, I’d love to finish the journey by taking that beyond £20,000. At 52, I’m not sure my legs will thank me for another 155km in October… but some things are worth the aches and pains! 😂 As with every year I will be proudly representing team Leicester City Football Club If you can spare a few pounds, share the page or simply help spread the message, it would genuinely mean a lot. One last October. Let’s make it count. 💙🏃‍♂️ 👇 the link to my JustGiving page below https://prostateunited.prostatecanceruk.org/fundraising/steve-aquilina-prostate-united-2026?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=dssb-CL&utm_content=MPC&utm_ref=UBS&utm_medium=FR&utm_source=dssb-EM&utm_content=MPC
  14. It’s a great idea, the club have been very helpful in allowing me to run at the ground and training ground in previous years …..maybe a Rocky style run through the streets of Leicester with randoms joining along the way 😂😂

  16. Great pod as always and Julian Watts was superb great to hear ex players who still have a genuine love and interest in the club.
  17. the training ground is state of the art and will be attractive however currently it could also be seen as a negative, given its high running costs, effectively it’s unsustainable whilst we are outside the premier league, particularly without parachute payments. So that will have to be factored into any due diligence. I think the opportunity of obtaining an MCO especially to someone who can see the benefits and opportunities of operating this type of model will be really appealing to certain interested parties.
  18. It does seem high for a league one club, however we also have to consider that it does also include Leuven.
  19. We know how this plays out 85% possession, 33 shots at goal and Burton have one shot and nick it 1-0 😂
  20. McCarthy Joseph Okoli New CB McFarlane Braybrooke Cullen Howell Burns Bristric Alves Subs Stolarcryk or Ravizzoli Aluko Gray or New CB Neale Chaplin if fit Watson Hutchinson or new striker
  21. I think this could be agent driven, mate at an agency gets some info that there is a fire sale, club are using agents to get players shifted, agent shares this info with his mate who has a social media account and bingo
  22. Or the club haven’t moved out the volume of high earners they were hoping for and with a couple of weeks left of the window are now getting desperate to move people on as now staring down the barrel as time ebbs away. Perhaps it’s a realisation that only a fortnight and the clock is ticking ……
  23. We might if they are derogatory offers
