  1. It’s not what I would do but I could see them doing it
  2. I wonder if they may look to a multi season points deduction rather than a one season hit. instead of hitting them for a 50/60 point deduction they could go for 3 seasons at 20 points this ensures City stay in the PL protecting TV revenues etc, however would effectively end any title or champions league qualification for 3 seasons which would hurt them, also a massive fine straight to grassroots and multi season transfer embargo as you have suggested.
  3. The whole FFP/PSR has become very tiring, too much of the game now being played out on spreadsheets and lawyers offices. The game really has gone
  4. The kit will have been selected and agreed last season, pretty sure this all gets sorted by February/March time so doubt there is any chance it is a nod to new owners
  5. Another cracking episode as always, the analogies just get better and funnier every week, although I do wonder what strength alcohol @Ric Flair is consuming during the pod to come up with them, but carry on sir as that moonshine is contributing to some grade A content 😂
  6. @Anonymous F.O.X. to the tune of NRG by Adamski ENERGY! (The Russell Martin Mix) ENERGY! ENERGY! Russell wants more energy! POSITIVE ENERGY! That’s the philosophy! Burton Albion turned up, We forgot to bring ours, Oxford came to play us, We went missing for two hours! But Russell’s got the answer, No need for Plan B… Just stand in front of Sky and say: “WE NEED MORE ENERGY!” ENERGY! ENERGY! Positive energy! Sideways, backwards, sideways, Possession is the key! No shots on target? Doesn’t matter, Steve… Because apparently the underlying numbers Show EXCELLENT ENERGY! ENERGY! Burton had more! ENERGY! Oxford had ours! ENERGY! We’ve passed it round the centre-backs For seventeen ****ing hours! POSITIVE ENERGY! Positive vibes! Another defeat… But the training looked nice! Fans are going mental, The table’s looking bleak, Russell grabs the microphone And says for the seventh time this week… “I actually thought our energy was really positive…” OH FOR ****’S SAKE! ENERGY! ENERGY! Where the bloody hell is the energy?! Burton found it! Oxford found it! HAS ANYONE CHECKED LOST PROPERTY?! ENERGY! No goals! ENERGY! No pace! ENERGY! Another sideways pass Across our own penalty area! But keep believing… Trust the process… Bring the positivity… Because apparently three points are optional… BUT ENERGY IS NON-NEGOTIABLE! E-N-E-R-G-Y! Available in all good press conferences now.
  7. Less than one week and it will be October and the start of my Prostate United challenge, representing team Leicester City to run 5km each and every day of October to raise money and much needed awareness for Prostate Cancer UK This is a disease that affects 1 in 8 men and takes a life every 45 minutes. Anything we can do to help increase testing, develop treatments and most importantly increase awareness and the need for men to get tested. This will be my 4th year in a row undertaking this challenge and at the age of nearly 53 it will be my final one, so far I have raised over £13k and would love to go out in style by raising another £7k and smashing the £20k barrier, so I am reaching out to this wonderful community for one final month to follow, like, share, spread the word and if you can please make a donation to this wonderful cause by clicking the link to my just giving page 🖤🩵 https://prostateunited.prostatecanceruk.org/fundraising/steve-aquilina-prostate-united-2026?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=dssb-CL&utm_content=MPC&utm_ref=UBS&utm_medium=FR&utm_source=dssb-EM&utm_content=MPC Thank you for all the amazing and wonderful support shown so far it is very much appreciated.
  8. Plus a new generation of fans attracted to the club, wanting a new kit and too come again to future games, massive missed opportunity. Could have even gone for a group ticket of £10 for a family of four, would have been a great way to attract families with young kids to attend an early evening kick off in relative safety and comfort of a smaller crowd. Put on some reasonable and fun entertainment and chances are you will have lots of repeat custom, new supporters and merchandise opportunities.
  9. Glad I didn’t watch it, boooooooooo Martin out!!!!
  10. Exactly get rid of Martin and does anyone have any confidence we make the right appointment.
  11. Watched the goal we conceded back a few times now and the lazy slow, sideways pass from Faes to O’Hora absolutely threw him under the bus, it was such a needless, unnecessary pass to make and the ball speed was so slow it enabled the Barnsley attacker to press and pressure O’Hora into making the error. Absolute needless goal to concede from a passage of play where we overplayed until we forced our own error. So frustrating and needless but for me the blame is more with Faes than O’Hora.
  12. Same agent as Dave Challinor …..
  13. And irresponsible approach to managing or not managing the clubs finances to the point we are at genuine risk of administration in the next few months.
  14. Martin is on hiding to nothing, I get people have had enough of his style of football and his stubbornness etc but I do feel like he has become public enemy number 1 with the fanbase because he represents everything that is wrong with the ownership and chief of football. The truth is his appointment was never really welcomed or wanted here and when it was made it was tone deaf, doubling down on a style of play that the fanbase had had enough of. Yet they stuck two fingers up to the fans and appointed him anyway. Now fast forward to 7 games in and we aren’t getting the results we expected and Martin is getting absolute pelters, which was always to be expected. The owner and chief of football when they appointed him knew there was absolutely zero margin for error, every goal conceded, every mistake, every dropped point and defeat would be dissected and vilified because of the manager and his style of play. Yes it is frustrating, yes it is one dimensional and lacks a Plan B and C to try and change the course of games when it isn’t going our way, but does Martin deserve the level of abuse aimed at him, or has he become the focal point of the KP and Rudkin frustrations because he is effectively the poster boy for this type of football. The reality is if he is driven out the club do we honestly believe they will suddenly go out and appoint somebody with the opportunity of introducing a new style, I doubt it, it will just be somebody implementing a similar approach and style but who is more likeable and accepted by the fanbase. I understand the frustrations , but the level of abuse towards a manager who has been here for 7 games is a bit too much and I do think that the anger is being diverted from the architects of 5 years of decline and directed at their latest managerial appointment horror show.
  15. The Russell Martin out thread is pretty much in the top 3 hot topics after each and every matchday and yet this one, about the ownership who chose to employ him and insist on this style of football, and if and when they do sack him will appoint the next manager tasked with implementing the same style, often gets forgotten about. Whatever you think about Martin and his football, his appointment says everything that needs to be said about the ownership and the Chief Football Officer and their obsession with this style of play. Managerial appointment after managerial appointment they have got wrong, an outdated and stale way of playing, overpaying and over rewarding mediocre players which has led to a terrible culture and back to back relegations, and there is barely a whimper of noise directed towards the ownership or Chief Football Officer instead the vitriol is all directed toward the manager appointed to specifically to play this style. I get people don’t want Martin but surely most of the anger and frustration should be vented at the people who chose to appoint him rather than other candidates who would have united the club. How much longer are people going to bury their heads in the sand and not realise who is really to blame here.
  16. No it isn’t, I just recognise that at times his play can be effective, I didn’t want him appointed however I am not blinkered or have that much tunnel vision to not give credit when some of the stuff he coaches works. First half we opened them up on numerous occasions, and could/should have been out of sight, however 2nd half the goal we gifted them and the couple of other chances they fashioned from us over playing show the flaws of his philosophy and style. There is good and bad with him and both evident today. I would like to see more tactical flexibility from him, would be good to see a plan B which we can switch to at times to capitalise in certain situations and circumstances like today. Will he survive here I don’t think he will because of his stubbornness to stick to plan A but I am big enough to say at times when plan A is executed it can be effective and very good to watch. Our goal today was a superb move .
  17. Yes it was, we created numerous good chances through good play.
  18. Agreed, even on best case scenario if his termination clause is 12 months money and he is on £20k per week then that is a million quid we need to find and then there will be his staff, so we could be looking at a total of £1.5m- 2m not a sum of money the club will have available. Only way he goes is if the incoming owners want it and fund it or if results are that poor that it is starting to have a detrimental impact on a potential sale
  19. Some of the play especially in the 1st half was excellent but we have to be able to be flexible in our approach and mix it up when needed. RM is too stubborn and rigid in his mindset, tactical flexibility is a strength not a weakness.
  20. Today was a story ofmissed chances and poor decisions in good areas, however 9 points from 7 games from what has been a fairly kind run of fixtures is extremely disappointing. We are at least 5 points off what should have been the minimum haul, his post match reactions after a couple of games is also making his already difficult job in wining over the fanbase almost impossible and these inconsistent results are certainly not helping matters.
  21. We do look more balanced and comfortable particularly playing out.
  22. Decent 1st half some of the football when it clicked was sublime but need to finish off these good chances we are creating and kill the game off.
  23. Just my opinion but I think the inclusion of the likes of Faes and Souttar within the match day squads is coming from above Martin, we saw similar last year under Cifuentes. The owner and former DoF are not gong to be happy seeing players signed for big fees and huge wages rotting away in the stands it’s a very bad look for them. I can see Faes, Souttar and Okoli being rotated to try and retain some level of saleable value.
  24. As part of my fourth and final Prostate United challenge, Leicester City have agreed to support by kindly donating a signed 2026/27 home shirt to help my fundraising for Prostate Cancer UK. Rather than simply selling the shirt, I wanted to put an idea out there and see what people think. I’m considering either a raffle or an auction, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to my Prostate United JustGiving page. A raffle would give more people the opportunity to get involved for a few quid, while an auction could potentially generate more for the charity. So, raffle or auction? Ultimately, it’s about using the shirt to raise as much as possible for Prostate Cancer UK, while continuing to raise awareness around men’s health, prostate cancer and the importance of getting checked. Hopefully we can turn a signed LCFC shirt into a decent amount of money for a cause that really matters. 💙 Please let me know what you think and share it around the LCFC groups and forums so we can get as many people involved as possible.
  25. Cheap hack tip, buy a pair of cheap lightly coloured trackie pants or shorts, apply an iron on Leicester City FC badge once applied, wear said pantaloons/shorts whilst watching 90 minutes of Alex McCarthy, Luke Thomas and Harry Souttar playing prime Russell Ball and hey presto you too can have a homemade LCFC brown training tracksuit pants/ training shorts for a fraction of the cost …..tune in next week for money saving tips
